Stephanie Vaquer looked at you from across her throne room. Her legs crossed over the other. Her hands laid flat against the thrones' armrests.
You could barely look in her direction. It felt hard to breathe. Tears pooled at the bottom of your eyes. Your heart ached as if the organ knew the sadness that was to come. Your stomach churned as her words played in your mind.
"You are human. I am a ruler in Hell. I do not love. We will never work."
Nothing could stop you now. These past few months had to have meant something to her. You were madly in love with her. She had to feel the same. This must have been one of her tricks on you. Stephanie loved to tease you.
"You are lying. I see the way you look at me. Don't do this," you begged.
Stephanie scoffed and stood up. Her eyes narrowed at you. Arms crossed over her chest. "If you choose to stay, that is on you. You know my stance when it comes to us. There hasn't or ever will be a real us."
You blinked back the tears. All the times she protected you wasn't because she loved you. They were to lay a claim on you. A toy for her that she could show off to the rest of hell. A single tear rolled down your cheek. You wiped it away with the hope that she hadn't seen it. She did. Stephanie always saw everything.
The need to save the little pride you had left outweighed the fight in you to show her this could work. With a pathetic sob, you turned on your heel and ran. The ruler you left behind balled up her fist. The familiar feeling of being alone consumed her. She wanted to call out your name, but nothing came out.

In your emotional state, you didn't notice when you crossed into another realm. The air around you felt thicker. You reached up and placed a hand over your chest. Your lungs fought to be able to breathe. A dull ache throbbed in your chest. Your broken heart started to beat loudly. Something wasn't right. You should have made it to Earth realm by now.
This realm was a lot different than Stephanie's realm. The realm you were currently in felt like madness. Chains were hung from the limestone. They rattled whenever a hot breeze rolled through. Graffiti of the different rules of the realm painted on the rocks. Off in the distance, you could see the spires from the castle. The spires and walls were broken.
"I have to get out of here," you thought to yourself and turned around.
The sound of laughter echoed off the black limestone pinnacles. No joke was ever spoken. This laughter felt like mockery. Two women appeared from the smoke. A short blonde and a tall brunette walked towards you. You knew of them from Stephanie. She warned you about them.
"Going so soon?" The brunette asked. She lowered her sunglasses on her nose to get a better look at you. "You just got here."
"I was just leaving," you answered. Your tone was strained from the lack of oxygen. You made sure to look down so they wouldn't recognize you. Hell had eyes and ears at all times. They surely knew who you were.
"Do we know you?" Raquel asked.
"Oh my God! We do," Liv announced happily.
Raquel looked at her partner and shrugged.
"Well, well, well, Raquel," Liv laughed and skipped towards you. You stared at the ground and prayed she would be mistaken. "I kept telling Dom that Stephanie's human toy would pay a visit."
Raquel stood next to her and smiled. "Then we need to give her an extra special welcome."

Stephanie sat in her throne. She felt the moment you left her realm. The ache and sadness of it hurt her. Time ticked away, and yet she still felt tethered to you. This meant you hadn't left to the human realm. Her nerves started to get the best of her when she still felt your presence.
"Why hasn't she-"
The ruler gasped as she placed a hand over her stomach. Her breaths came out quick from the shock of suddenly being in pain. Her servants watched her closely. Murmurs started to fill the throne room.
"I'm fine," she answered when one of her subjects asked her if she was okay. Stephanie took one last deep breath. "I just, ah!"
"La Primera!" One of her royal subjects gasped. Stephanie hunched forward in her throne. Her shoulder blades squeezed together as her back radiated pain.
"Get me the mirror," she ordered through gritted teeth. The servant obeyed. He scurried to the mirror that hung on the wall. Carefully, he picked the mirror up by the handle and rushed over to his ruler.
Stephanie thanked him. The black and red mirror held tightly in her hands. She tried to ignore the blows she felt in her body. Her brown eyes focused on her reflection in the mirror. "Show me the human."
The color black ran down the glass. She gripped the handle harder as more pain washed over her. The mirror suddenly showed you.
There was no light behind your eyes. Your face was covered in cuts, bruises, and ash. The only parts of your skin she could see were from the lines of tears. Raquel and Liv stood over you. They laughed and mocked you.
Stephanie stood up from her throne. Her boots clicked as she walked down the stairs. She threw the mirror onto the throne.
"Your majesty?" The servant asked.
She raised her hand to stop him. "Take me to her."

"Wow, she really isn't going to come, is she?" Liv asked and looked around. "That is kind of sad. You really risked going to heaven for someone who didn't care about you."
You didn't react to the mocking. A couple more tears slid down your cheeks. As cruel as it was, she was right. Stephanie wasn't going to come for you. Your entire body cried out for death. You placed your arms around your ribs. A couple had to be broken with how many times they stomped you.
"Well, it's my turn to kill this one, right? We could always see who else we could torture."
"Fine by me," Liv laughed.
You begged a soft no. Raquel grabbed the collar of your shirt. She dragged you until you stood in front of her. A hand wrapped around your neck. Your soon to be murderer lifted you up with only one hand.
"You know, you are pretty strong for a human. Others would have definitely been destroyed by now," Raquel complimented. You envied those who would have died already.
"I can't believe you were able to lift her up with one hand," Liv spoke from behind you. "Now break her so we can see what the others are doing."
You closed your eyes and waited for her to slam you to the ground. Stephanie had told you that every ruler of their realms had a special move. One that could eliminate any human with ease. You cursed yourself. Even after everything, she was still going to be one of your last thoughts.
"Any last words?"
"Just do it."
Raquel smiled. "How human of you to give up so quickly. Luckily for you, I am generous."
Before she could slam you down to the ground, an orange light started to glow behind you. Raquel's eyes widened in shock. Her mouth dropped open.
"Shit."
The Judgment Day member dropped you to the ground. You landed on your side. The orange light came from a rift that opened behind Liv Morgan.

Stephanie walked out of the rift. Her horns stuck out of her head. She slowly walked towards them. Liv didn't stick around long. With the snap of her fingers, she was gone. A cloud of smoke now lingered where she was had been standing.
La Primera walked towards you. Your last attacker slowly walked backward away from you. Excuses fell from her lips.
She didn't mean it.
This was Liv's idea.
Everyone knew they had to follow Liv or face serious consequences.
Stephanie looked down at you. You briefly saw the red in her eyes. She was angry, but you saw her face soften when she saw you were alive.
"You do not touch what is mine," Stephanie told her. "She was claimed as a guest in my realm."
Raquel put her hands up in defeat. "I realized that a little too late, and that is why I put her down."
"If you ever touch a guest of mine again, I will kill you. This realm will be nothing but ash. Although I do believe this would be an improvement," she threatened. Her eyes looked around the realm. Stephanie was disgusted with the surroundings.
"Noted," Raquel spoke. Within moments, she vanished. A cloud of smoke hovered where she once stood.
Stephanie dropped to her knees. She sighed in relief as she cupped your cheeks. Her thumbs rubbed against your dirty flesh. "What are you doing here?"
You laughed dryly. "I could ask you the same thing." You started to mock her. "You are a human. I am a ruler in hell. We would not work. I could never love."
Stephanie clenched her jaw. "You don't understand. You will grow old, and one day, I will lose you. I don't know if I can live without you."
"Are you all ready for tonight?" Stephanie asked us as we were all sitting in my bedroom. "What's tonight?" I asked. "The princess of Noxvale is turning twenty today. Her family sent out invitations to all the kingdoms closest to theirs." Iyo tells me. "Y/n's birthday." Dominik speaks up. "Y/n?" I questioned. "Princess Y/n Rynn. She's Liv's friend and the princess who's turning twenty." Dominik explains. "Oh cool." I say. "Isn't Noxvale the kingdom that is always dark? The one that is in like eternal darkness?" Bianca asked. "Yeah. I heard that they don't see the sun at all." Iyo comments. "You've been there before Dominik. What's it like? What's she like?" I asked after a moment. "Noxvale is a beautiful place. Even though you are right that they barely see the sun, everyone makes it work. The royal family are very sweet and welcoming. Y/n herself is such a kind person. She's made friends with other princesses and princes plus friends with her staff as well. I met her when I first started dating Liv, which made her sixteen at the time. Like I said, she's just a kind person. Y/n makes it a habit to go into her kingdom and check in with the residents, and she also spends time with the kids." Dominik explains. "She sounds like an amazing person." Stephanie says. "She is. She even included on the invites for the guests to bring whoever they like with them." He included. "Wait. So, I could bring Becky, Bayley, Finn, and Damian?" I asked. "Of course. Knowing Y/n, she's going to invite her staff too. She's friends with them as well." Dominik says. "Well, we should get ready for this party then." Bianca tells us. "Yeah, we should."
Y/n's POV:
"Happy birthday!" AJ says as she pulls open the curtains in my room. I let out a groan as the sun hits my face. "Don't start complaining now. Roxanne and Liv wanted to be in here at eight, but I made sure that they would let you sleep in. It's ten now." She says before pulling the blankets off of me. "Ugh give me my blankets!" I whined. "Nope. Get up." AJ says before pulling me up. "See? There's the birthday girl." She says as I rub my eyes. "Yeah, yeah." I say. "You better wake up real quick because Roxanne, Liv, Charlotte and Je'Von are all outside waiting to get in here." AJ tells me. I let out a yawn. "I'm not shocked they are." I comment. I watch as AJ goes to leave to let in the others. "Hey." I called out. AJ turned around. "Don't forget breakfast. Make sure Alexa, Jimmy and Jey are there too." I tell her. "I will." She says with a smile. AJ leaves the room and I watched as Roxanne, Liv, Charlotte and Je'Von all ran into my room. "Look who's finally awake!" Roxanne says as she jumps onto my bed. "Okay, I was tired! Mom and dad had me up all night so we could finalize the details for the party tonight. You know that they are also using this as an opportunity to start looking for a prince or princess to get married to." I explained. "They're still doing that?" Charlotte asked. I nodded my head. "Told me I have until my 21st birthday to pick someone myself. If I don't find love myself, then they are putting me into an arranged one." I rolled my eyes. "That's so stupid. Why would they even do that?" Je'Von asked. "You know how it is. I guess I was expecting more time before they really pushed this on me. My mom didn't get married to my dad until she was twenty-five." I sighed. "Alright, none of that." Charlotte says. "Today is your birthday. We are going to have a great day, and then we are going to make sure your party is amazing." Liv says. "Yeah! And maybe you'll find a prince or a princess tonight." Roxanne says while nudging me slightly. "That's not my goal for tonight. I just want to celebrate and have a good time with my friends." I say. "Well, Dominik and his friends are coming tonight." Liv tells us. "Ooo I haven't seen Dom in a minute." I say. "It'll be nice to meet all his friends." Je'Von says. I nodded my head. "They're all nice. I think Rhea is going to be in for a shock. Her kingdom doesn't see much nighttime. I mean, they still get it, just for a couple of hours each day." Liv explains. "Oh, so the complete opposite of my kingdom." I comment. "Yup. She'll be in for a shock, but I think she'll find the joy in it like the rest of us do." Liv says. "We've just grown used to it throughout the years. I mean our kingdoms all have normal day and night." Charlotte says. I shrugged. "It's been a while since I've seen the sun. I think the last time I did was when I visited Xanadu to see Je'Von." I explained. "Enough talking about that. Let's go to breakfast. I'm sure AJ, Alexa, Jimmy and Jey are all waiting for us."
