@darkcrystalmeth
The detail they put into the Skeksis book. Wow.
Now this is a story I would love to hear.
I’m curious if The Librarian’s travels are gonna be related to anything that’d’ve been established or set in motion by Gyr during the Age of Harmony, since he was circumstantially responsible for the Skeksis’ emergence. (It’s also interesting that The Librarian is a fairly major character without a given name).
Additionally, when we first see the Librarian, the music panning in on the library is a wind instrument of some kind that elicits the feel of the Gelfling’s Firca instrument. And not just that, but the place we go immediately after that is into the Caves of Grot, where Deet is singing.
Apparently Gyr left a journal that was a historical record of the truth about the Skeksis. He entrusted the journal to Aughra, and also used his Firca to dream-etch his songs into the Caves of Grot. All of those elements seem to match things here VERY directly and intentionally. (I really need to go read Shadows, Song, Tides, and Flames of the Dark Crystal, since they’re the YA toe-in novels to Age of Resistance, and where all that is mentioned).
The only stuff I know directly about Gyr is from the Creation Mythology comics.
But yeah, for anyone interested — those are some things worth digging into to hunt for clues and answers.
Insert rant on how great these two are and how special the thing they (and many others) created is.
On what makes Age of Resistance a great prequel
Simon Pegg on ‘Age of Resistance’ taking risks.
This could be the end Or start of something new
Please let it not be the end -_-
Now that's dedication.

Some interesting “behind the scenes” info I have not seen elsewhere!
I remember being thoroughly surprised the first time I saw this, because I hadn’t picked up on the Rian/Deet thing being more than just a caring, close friendship. I guess I wasn’t paying attention due to being constantly scared they were gonna do the Hero/Princess thing, and so every time Rian interacted with Brea in some way, or the scene were setting up some sort of jealousy thing, I braced myself. But it all turned out to be some kind of deliberate or unintentional trope tickling.
After seeing this I rewatched the series (...more than once) and started noticing subtle things and like,
Okay now I see it.
Casual concealed Onica name drop.
Re: Juni and the jingle-jangle-hat:
odd1seven said: Well for the biggest part of human history it was acceptable to be socially excluded/shunned for dating someone from another group considered inferior/different… I like how they included this in the show because this kind of racism and divide has always been used to maintain status quo. It’s a “silly” scene but says a lot about their society.
I just wanted to say that what made this scene even more effective in my eyes, it’s the fact that it is indeed “silly”. I’m glad you brought that up. They are really strong words presented in such an innocent way. I can't really put my finger on why it works so well, but it was my first thought when watching it. Kind of a "that's just how it is, oh well" thing?
If this was Juni's punishment though, I do wonder what happened to the Spriton boy :/

Imagine it being completely acceptable for your parents to send you to community service for flirting with a boy with different looks and social status.
Well that escalated quickly
Now this is a story I would love to hear.
