FAQ about Dark Dungeons the Movie
How much money did Dark Dungeons the movie pay Jack Chick for the rights?
Jack Chick granted JR Ralls the right to make a movie based upon the Dark Dungeons comic book free of charge and without any request for a percentage of the film's gross or net. There is no direct financial relationship between the film and Chick Publications, Inc.
How much control over the film does Jack Chick have?
Chick Publications Inc. gave JR Ralls one stipulation: that the film must include the message, 'Story based on "Dark Dungeons" by Jack T. Chick, LLC© 1984'. JR intends to try his best to faithfully adapt the spirit and tone of the comic to the screen given the limitations in transplanting fiction between two media and in expanding a 22 panel comic into a film.
Have people committed suicide due to RPGs?
No cases of RPG-related suicides have been proven in court. However, that does not mean that it doesn’t happen. For all we know, BIG-GAMING may just be very good at covering them up.

What evidence is there that RPG’s use real world spells?
William Schnoebelen has publically stated that, as a witch high priest (Alexandrian tradition) during the period 1973-84, he was approached by a roleplaying company to make sure their spells were accurate: http://www.chick.com/articles/dnd.asp
In addition he warns us the “the Necronomicon and the Cthulhu mythos are quite real” which is why those dangers are exposed in Dark Dungeons the movie: http://www.chick.com/articles/frpg.asp
I heard that C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien influenced the first RPGs. Are they OK?
Dark Dungeons the movie has researched the work of those noted and possibly pagan authors, as their works can both be found in occult bookstores and may be part of the witchcraft bible;

How many zombies are there in Dark Dungeons the Movie?
As we are trying to staying as true to the comic as adaptation will allow, Dark Dungeons the movie takes place in a monozombistic world.
Is Dark Dungeons the movie a parody?
NO! As JR Ralls has said many times in interviews and in his Kickstarter campaign; making a parody of Dark Dungeons was never, and is not, his intention. A parody is “an imitation of the style of a particular artist with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect.” The writer, director, and producers of Dark Dungeons were all in agreement that they were not doing interested in doing that. Dark Dungeons the movie was thoroughly researched to ensure that various aspects of it could be directly shown to be influenced by Dark Dungeons the comic, other writings of Jack Chick, and writings by other authors that he hosts on his website. It is NOT a parody.
Is Dark Dungeons the Movie a satire?
NO! Satire is “a humorously exaggerated imitation.” The most classic example is Swift’s “A Modest Proposal”, in which he mocks the English aristocracy's indifference to the rural Irish poor by suggesting they eat Irish babies. This was an exaggeration as the English did not actually hate the Irish enough to eat their babies. By contrast, Dark Dungeons the comic shows that RPGs can lead to suicide, joining a witches coven, and gaining real life magical powers and Dark Dungeons the movie shows exactly those same things as well. The film adaptation does not exaggerate or alter those claims. It is NOT a satire.
Then what is Dark Dungeons the movie?
Dark Dungeons the movie is an adaptation of the comic Dark Dungeons that tries its best to stay true to the spirit and word of the source material given the limitations in adapting a comic to live-action and in expanding a 22-panel comic into an interesting and exciting motion picture. Many of the scenes and dialogue from Dark Dungeons the movie are lifted straight from the comic. While there are changes and differences between the two, JR considers these to be less than those found in many other comic-to-film adaptations. Dark Dungeons the movie is a serious attempt at telling the Dark Dungeons saga in live-action format with as much drama and entertainment as the artists involved could muster.
