BACKGROUND & VERSES. 

ar’kana was born to a member of the galactic senate sometime around 45 bby,  kidnapped when it was determined by sith-aligned spies the child was force sensitive.  as the jedi’s crop of younglings grew,  palpatine thought it prudent to find some of his own.  

as a child,  ar’kana is placed in the care of the kelen crime syndicate as collatoral as the emperor garners underground support for his eventual takeover.   there, ar’kana experiences and witnesses horrible abuses until the age of 13 when a young apprentice of darth tyranus comes for her and begins her training.  

when ar’kana is seventeen,  she discovers she was purposefully placed in the care of krait kelen in order to ensure her loyalty when she is rescued later by her future master.  in anger,  ar’kana murders him and takes his saber.  ar’kana vows to garner as much power as possible to ensure she will one day be able to leave and not have anyone challenge her or overpower her.  

she is known as the apprentice with no master,   going between the apprentices of palpatine and others to be taught various skills in the force and of the sith.   this is in the interest of ar’kana one day heading the praetorian guard for the emperor.   when darth vader comes to power,  ar’kana instead becomes a member of the inquisitors with plans to eventually leave when given the chance. 

for a sequels verse kana is instead a member of the knights of ren, again kidnapped as a child after the jedi temple massacre and brought up in the same way,  later brought to snoke by kylo ren.

             this is what it was supposed to be  :  a simple recognition mission ,  an assessment of the terrain  &  environment before further decisions could be made.   that this planet was a sith lair it was already known  :   their sources had gathered enough information about yellow - eyed creatures lurking in the dark  for eyebrows to be raised at the temple ,  but now     …    this has happened instead :  obi - wan kenobi , jedi master  &  general of the clone wars ,   finds himself trapped in an alley ,  visible  &  invisible fingers wrapped around his throat  &  a verbal threat to his life.  he could say he was surprised but ,  at this point ,  it’s almost as though he should come to expect this  —   it’s part of the job ,   he would tell anakin if he were here    &   obi-wan almost turns his head to comment this at the empty air where his former padawan once stayed.   instead  ,   obi - wan raises a single brow ,  and clicks his tongue in disapproval.     ❛     now ,   you   know  i can’t let you do that.     ❜      a  beat  ,  then obi - wan’s hand is at her wrist  &  his foot kicking at her ankle so he can flip their positions ,  his forearm pressing the sith against the wall.    ❛    let’s start this over.   you know who i am  ,  and yet i don’t know who you are.  that seems hardly fair.       ❜        

 HER HEAD HIT THE WALL  with a resounding grunt,   guttural in her chest.  the force of it had kana peering up at him through strands of hair knocked loose from their cord.  she thought she must have appeared like a caged animal,  and grinned savagely at the thought.    “   ---  have you considered,   general,   that you don’t know me because  i do my job well ?   no one knows me,  no one knows to seek me out for petty fights.  you can’t say the same,  can you?  ”    she  murmurs,   her voice a hard scratch as she struggled for breath under his arm.    suddenly,   a scream broke through the silence  ---   agonized,  sharp.   kana’s eyes twitched towards the sound,   and then her body went lax with relief as her face fell into the peace she felt the woman flood with.    “    she’s safe,  ”   she breathed,   dropping her gaze for a moment before meeting his once more,   eyes shining and unyielding.   “   you know what they say,   don’t you?    life isn’t fair.  ”     she gives a dark chuckle before sliding her knee between his legs  ---  bringing it up with all the strength she had.   as he crumpled,   kana took hold of his collar and began to march in the other direction.    “   if you want to play,  general,   let’s go somewhere cozier,  hm?  ”

“  IT’S NOT POLITE TO STARE,  ”    the growl in her throat descended into a low purr,   finding the heat of his throat under her palm something quite   . . .  delicious.  her mind quickly offered a name for the face she found in the shadows:    the general,    kenobi.     his shadow   ---   the boy,  hard-faced and  dark eyed   ---  she couldn’t feel his presence.   he was alone,   and that was his first mistake.    ar’kana’s mouth twisted into a ravenous smirk,   leaning in close to whisper in his ear.    “   hello,   @trajedis​ .   this is what is going to happen.  in a few minutes,    you will hear a scream.  it will be a wife,   coming home to find her husband dead.   you will do nothing.   you will say nothing.    you will turn around and walk with me,  nice and easy.    otherwise,   i will let you die like a dog here in the gutter.   nod once so i know you understand.   now.  ”

“  YOU HUNGRY,  LITTLE ONE?  ”     her step falls heavy as she slowly canters across the room,   holding out the pear she’d fished from her robes.   “  hm?  ---  there’s no reward if you refuse to eat,   though it would make you a stronger girl than me.  i could hardly resist  starfruit at your age.  ”   the only sweet thing she’d been allowed,   the only respite in those days.   “    ---   here,  i’ll have a piece,  ”    as she sliced a quarter-piece away with the dagger at her hilt,   ar’kana  crouched on her haunches,   placing herself below the level of the young princess.    “   i promise,   as long as i’m here they won’t touch you.  what they want,  they can get without behaving like animals.  ”
