That indie game no one else has played. That show from the 1980s that isn't big in the pop culture osmosis. Your deep dive into Tudor history. A liveblog of your experience learning C++. Your welding skills. Post all of it. This is your house

This must be a post actually, I assume the reason we're getting this new flush of Tolkien films rn is twofold. One, of course, is because apparently WB would have lost the rights to it all if they hadn't done anything with the franchise in the next couple of years. But I also think Warner Bros are trying to ride the racist backlash against RoP by releasing a bunch of ''''''non-political''''' (only white people in it) tolkien films that'll get the white nationalists going 'see THIS is how you adapt tolkien RESPECTFULLY unlike that DISGUSTING RoP' and because a great deal of nominally leftist tolkien fans still believe that that kind of language is completely neutral when taken out of a racist context, and that their perfomative disgust of RoP has no wider implication or impact, it will become the dominant tolkien fandom narrative and will no doubt stimulate another big revenue spike for the company.
Warner Bros. Pictures will release The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum worldwide on December 17, 2027.
[Andy Serkis] then conceded that there “have been criticisms” and added that: “This particular film is somewhat acknowledging that. But we don’t think we will be doing a politically correct just-casting-for-the sake-of-casting-and-ticking-boxes version of the film. So, it’s only where relevant basically.”
Wow what a coincidence. I wonder who this article was for. I wonder what faction of the fanbase they are courting with this PC tickbox rhetoric.

we need to periodically remind everyone that a headline not including a person's name isn't an attempt to erase their identity from the narrative, it's just not good practice to put someone's name in a headline unless the reader can be expected to already know who they are
"if you can say the name in the article why can't you say the name in the headline?" what do you think a headline is for
