What makes you think that I care about your opinion of me at all? All I care about is what she thinks of me. I killed that muggle and that squib for her. Not you. Those were my first kills â sure, they were sloppy, but Iâm planning on getting plenty of practice. The only reason I would be loyal to you is because she is, and I do what she wants of me. I couldnât care less about you and this stupid war youâre instigating.
Oh? And who do you think she'd choose if it were down to you and me, Knight? If I told her to cut you off, she would without hesitation. If you want to serve her--to learn from her or whatever it is you want to accomplish with her, I suggest you start by showing me some respect.
[Private]
Yâknow, I hated you as a professor, but I really hate you now. Blood doesnât phase me. It doesnât bother me at all, but blatant stupidity does.Â
Oh, well you better hurry yourself along to the hospital wing then, because Madam Pomfrey surely has an ailment for yours. Your little showcases for Bellatrix have been lackluster at best, and clumsy work at that. You're a child trying to prove yourself, but when it really matters, here you are throwing a little fit because of what happened to his little lover. It pains me to see Lestrange wasting time on you. You've done nothing to prove your worth. This just consolidates that.
This is no simple Abracadabra || The devil & the dove
She didnât even flinch when the wand flew from her fingers and clattered across the floor. It was inevitable that such a move would come. âI donât need it to speak.â She spat. âIt will reach its destination well enough and when it does someone will know something is wrong and alert the Aurors. Everyone else will be safe and that is all I require, sir." She attempted to pull her jaw from his hand, but as the locket came closer, the fingers of one hand wrapped around his wrist while the other swiped in the direction of his face.
"Oh dear girl. You still don't understand, do you?" His thumb swiped her jawline almost soothingly, though his actions said otherwise. He leaned back to evade the hand she thrust in his direction and caught her wrist, pinning it hard to the door. The locket unclasped itself and wrapped around the girl's neck, working almost instantaneously to take control of the girl. He watched with childish mirth, awaiting the effects of the locket to really sink in.
You sure you canât get me out of here any earthlier, Professor deSpevelle? The stab wounds are just about healed and aside from a dull headache, Iâm perfectly fine.
I'm afraid no one can disregard Madam Pomfrey's strict judgement. She's the only one who can dismiss you from this place, I'm afraid.

Freed them? Are you out of your damn mind?! All youâve done is put every single person whoâs ever cared about them up in arms. You underestimate how much, and how many people love those two girls. What you meant to be a scare tactic did the opposite of that, because now every single one of those people are out for blood!
If you don't think I took into consideration the love people hold for these two girls, then you're far more stupid than I originally thought you were. I'm very much aware of the ranks of people gathering behind them. It was my intention. With everyone scrambling to take sides, now I am certain of the people who will do well on my side. But what were you expecting? A heated argument and a resolving shake of hands? A war was always coming. If you get antsy about a bit of blood, then clearly Bellatrix has put misguided faith in you.
I see. With ambition like that Iâm not surprised you ended up in Slytherin as a child. Do you ever take some time off, my friend? Enjoy life and the moment?
Very rarely, Reyes. Very rarely. I'm afraid I cannot afford such luxuries.
How long do I have to stay here exactly?
Until you feel better and can be dismissed, I'm afraid.
[Private]
How do you â how do you even know? Weâve been keeping it a secret. Was it you? Was it you who hurt her and Lily? Did you hurt them?
I know much more than you think, Knight. I've got this precious little talent of getting what I want.
Hurt them? IÂ freed them. I let them fully wallow in their rightful place--their rightful state of mind.

[Oliver stiffened, emotion vanishing from his face.] Iâm not in love with a mudblood. Iâm insulted that you would insinuate that I was. Bellatrix would have already killed me if I was. Iâve been trying to keep my head low, honestly, but itâs difficult for me. I need distractions and I donât always have one readily available.
While you may be able to distract Bella with your enthusiasm for the Dark Arts, you can't fool me. I know how you treasure that pretty blonde. You keep her close to you while you constantly push others away. It's adorable, really. I thought Lestrange would provide distraction enough.
Inferi? What in Merlinâs name is an inferius? Why didnât they teach us this in fifth or sixth year?
It's a creature that's controlled by someone using Dark Magic. They're almost impossible to fend off, given that they're undead and feel no pain. I imagine they weren't included in your curriculum because there was no need to.

[Oliver watched the man cautiously. Something clicking in his mind.] No â youâre not a death eater. Youâre something much worse, arenât you?
I'd rather you refer to me as "someone." I'm not one of your flimsy little knives or objects to play with, after all. You've been giving me a right headache for the last few weeks, Knight. Really, even with Bella mentoring you, you've managed to stir up trouble and fall in love with a mudblood.
[Private]
All youâve done is piqued my interest by telling me that. Youâre really awful at dissuading me. [Oliver paused, thinking for a long moment before he spoke again. ] Are you a death eater, sir?
[He laughed loudly, shaking his head.] A Death Eater? Merlin, no. [He advanced towards the boy, eyes darkening slightly.] Not a Death Eater, at all.
Iâm pretty sure that the rest of that saying suggests that satisfaction brought it back. Iâm already playing with fire. The burns canât get much worse than they are.
That's where you're mistaken. You've no idea what you're digging your claws into.
Believing you first requires trust. Youâve never given me any reason to do either. I donât know where she was, but I know that thereâs something that she isnât telling me. Something that she doesnât want me to know. Iâm going to find out what it is, regardless of whether she wants me to or not.
She was with me the entire night. Mr. Knight... have you never heard of the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat?" I suggest you stop prying.
