and the way that she doesn't hesitate at all in cutting her hand and putting it on sam's open and infected wound. she truly does believe she is the cure and she really does want to help. this is why joel's decision at the firefly hospital is so heart wrenching and conflicting. it totally confuses me how some people don't understand ellie's anger at joel for it in part 2, she wanted her life to matter and she was willing to give it (whether they could have actually made a cure from her or not).
