That’s the bad foot to start on though because what I feel like you’re saying is ‘little woman who looks like a fifteen year old girl, is your daddy or someone responsible around here?’ And now it doesn’t matter if that’s what you’re saying or not; it’s the impression I got–because, secret between you and me or not really a secret and known to everyone, I’m a judgy bitch who can jump to conclusions.” She siad it all conversationally without glare or malice and then went on to reassure as she took the resume from him and skimmed it a bit, “But don’t let that get to you. I also am a fickle bitch that changes her mind a lot and I’ve already decided you get a second chance because you remind me of a sad, small, kicked puppy in the rain. Do you have a minute to answer a few questions, puppy? We can do an interview right now.” She reached a hand across the counter for him to shake. “Roxanne Weasley, Manager and Part Owner of Weasley Wizard Whhezes of Hogsmeade and you can relax because another type of bitch I am is a bluffing bitch because I’m actually a pretty nice and chill boss. Btch talk done. I am completely professional in three…two…now. So, Mr. Sheehan, why would you like to work at Weasley Wizard Wheezes?”

Skylar’s eyes widened when she mentioned that it was a bad impression on his part and he shook his head a couple of times. “I just meant that -- well, in muggle stores at least, usually the owners or managers don’t run the front area, they’re in an office doing something else...” He tried to explain quickly, but let her take the resume and watched as she looked it over. “Yeah, I have time.” He shook her hand over the counter and then let himself relax slightly when she started joking about bluffing and being pretty chill, a small laugh escaping his lips before answering the question. “Well, I’m graduating soon, and I go in here all the time for a few different things, so there’s that, but I’ve also heard what good skills you develop while working retail and I think that’s really important for a person to have.”

Skylar let out a breath as he entered Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes and looked around the familiar shop, more nervous than he probably should have been. He knew he needed a job once the year ended and even though right now he could only do Hogsmeade weekends, at least there was that. So the brunet walked to the counter and waited until Roxanne wasn’t busy with a customer before walking up. “Hey, uhm... I just want to drop off a resume, are you the right person to talk to, or...?” He trailed off, knowing that he probably wasn’t making the best impression for a job in sales, but his nerves certainly weren’t helping.

“How should I know how Vasilisa is doing? Good, I guess. I hope. She’s back in Russia. I don’t remember the name of her new school. It’s her old school I guess. I can understand why her parents pulled her out of Hogwarts but it’s just going to fuck up her education more. Whatever. If she gets held back again, she gets held back.  I’m supposed to visit this summer, but,  eh, depends on if I can find the time, and that can be tricky…when you don’t really want to do something and don’t see a point.”

“I just... thought you might have talked to her, sorry.” Skylar said once he realized, swallowing and glancing around awkwardly. “Do you know why they did pull her out? Since she was already complaining about getting moved around.” He pointed out, just trying to figure out what happened.

Delphina clasped her hand over her mouth and gasped. Skylar? Had she just… no, but Skylar had raised his wand; he was probably about to do something first. Not that he had any reason to, of course, but none of this was going by normal rules, Delphina reasoned. “I warned you to stand back!” she cried.

Skylar started standing up again, not putting any weight on one of his legs. He had to get out of this area, there were people still fighting and as much as he wanted to, he didn’t think he would be much use like this. He had to get the bone fixed. “Why are you with them?” He asked the redhead, wand gripped tightly in his hand, but down at his side.

When the figure spun around with his wand raised, Delphina reacted without looking to see who it was first and yelled “Flipendo!”

Skylar’s eyes widened when he saw the light flying from his friend’s wand and he gasped. “Prote--” but before he could even get the spell out, hers hit him, and he was shot backwards, slamming him against the wall. Due to the angle, though, as soon as he tried to stand up, he suddenly found himself on the ground again, his ankle not having been able to take his weight.

Skylar was surprised when he heard a voice behind him and he spun around, wand in hand, but he felt himself relax when he saw Delphina. “Oh, good.” He said softly.

“I just don’t know if I would be the best person to change it.” Skylar admitted softly. “I’d rather be somewhere where I won’t bother anyone.” Or in the muggle world. He hadn’t completely decided.

Skylar looked up when he heard the voice, hands on either side of his tea, and blinked a little bit. “I-- uhm, okay...” He trailed off hesitantly. “I really didn’t know him that well...”

That’s rare. But I guess I can relate, not wanting the spotlight. The difference is that you have powers that really could do a lot of good in the world if you accepted the spotlight, you know? All I can do is grow some flowers.

“I just... I don’t have great control over them, and I’m... I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone.” And he still wasn’t even sure what he was going to do after graduation. “If I could give the magic to someone that could use it better, I would.”

“There aren’t limits on how many times you can renew?” Skylar asked, honestly surprised.

There are supposed to be. But I leave for a little bit and suddenly that rule doesn’t matter anymore! It’s like I have to do everything around here.

Skylar nodded slightly, glancing behind him. "Yeah... I guess I'll go grab that other book now. Good luck with finding the person that took it out though, hopefully they'll try and renew it again and you can get it back."
