We're the Partially Obscured Void Cats, and for the past few months, we've been developing Sanguine Masquerade, our vampire-themed deduction game.
In Sanguine Masquerade, you play as Sanguine, a vampire whose masquerades have been infiltrated by vampire hunters. You will have to look over each of your guests and determine if they are a real vampire, or a vampire hunter in disguise. Every vampire will have at least one vampiric trait, but vampire hunters will be ordinary, dull humans. It's your job to find and eliminate all of the vampire hunters, but make sure to keep your guests happy as you conduct your investigationsâthey will leave if you bring too many people into interrogation, or if you mistake a kindred as a foe.
Sanguine Masquerade is set to be released on Steam on August 1st, 2026. However, in the meantime, we are using Itch.io to host early builds of the game for playtesting purposes.
As we continue working on Sanguine Masquerade over the next month, we will share updates with you all about the state of the game, which may include new features, bug fixes, and other noteworthy information. We hope you'll stick along for the journey.

Highlights
There are 15 levels in total. Levels become progressively more challenging as the game continues.
The title screen features a "Credits" button within the "Settings" menu. Upon being selected, a popup will appear with the names of the developers.
Upon starting a new game, the player will be greeted with a short tutorial prompt on how to play the game. This includes the control scheme, as well as the overall goal of the game.
There is a linear sequence of levels with various amounts of NPCs. As each level is completed, the following will occur:
More NPCs will spawn.
New rooms in the manor may open.
NPCs may have a wider range of vampiric traits that they can spawn with.
Known Issues
The player's wineglass is textured incorrectly.
On some occasions, NPCs will not play animations correctly.
On rare occasions, NPCs will not spawn correctly. In this situation, reload the levelâyou can do this either by exiting to the main menu, or by pressing "Restart Level" when the game is paused.
