Closing off 2018 with a TF2 comic, it was nice to get back into one of my oldest favorite comfort fandoms this year!  

The biggest surprise to me back in April was reading that Spy was pretty much confirmed to be Scout’s dad in the latest comic issue from 2017.  BACK IN MY DAY (pre-tumblr 2007-2010), we didn’t have many comics to draw lore from.  All we had was the Jarate comic, the WAR! DemoSolly comic, and the iPod comic to supplement the SFMs!  And lookit how much that has expanded!

So, here’s my take on Dad Spy n’ Scout’s family.  RED Spy and BLU Scout is the classic 2009 daddy dynamic, I ain’t trampling on comics canon.  No reconciliation, no morals, no happy ending.  Cuz lemme tellya, deadbeat dads ain’t much fun n’ games.  I absolutely 100% reject and abhor the generic Christmas movie narrative of “Dad reconciles with family”!! 

I did a small write-up on what I intended for Scout’s Mom n’ Spy n’ Scout on my site.  You can read it if you’d like.  I’ll probably end up putting my write-ups on my website since Tumblr is unreliable now, and twitter/insta are absolutely not made for my inane walls of text.  Plus I can go back and edit whenever I want,

So I have Melodyne and had a great idea… and I grabbed three lines from each of the mercs plus Miss Pauling and the Administrator and threw them through the same vocal effects they used to make GLaDOS’ voice! Now they sound like Personality Cores!!
