Hi November,

On a few podcasts now you have mentioned your disdain for Canon cameras and their users. I am unfortunately one of these users as it was the brand I was most used to due to my mums old film camera being a canon and so when I started to get more seriously into photography as a hobby I bought myself a fairly basic one (eos r50) as a starter.

My question is, what is your main complaint with them and am I beyond redemption or can I be saved by changing to another camera system?

so to break kayfabe for a second Canon make (and have almost always made) excellent cameras. it’s just that for a long time Canon and Nikon were the only game in town for professional photography, you had to commit to one system, and especially with some paparazzi machismo layered over it the narcissism of small differences (the focus rings turn in opposite directions!) got to the point of there being actual beef. I like Nikon so sometimes I think it’s fun to play this up. anyway if you have a Canon you should throw it directly into the trash
