/rp Is this the reason why 10 days was needed for Dream lore to be revealed? When did the QnA happen, around January 10-11? Pretty sure it was like hours after the fall of L'manburg. So Tommy and Tubbo going after Dream, with Ranboo possibly revealing how he is connected with Dream, and the Crimson spreading with Ponk's green vines in question. Oh my, MY! I thought it was pretty quiet in the lore department, didn't expect this much drop. Any possible theories in how all of this is connected?
(disclaimer: I wrote this out before today’s Ranboo stream lol)
All these threads have been building up for ages, and now with the Crimson plot starting to bleed into the faction politics of the server, it seems like they’re going to start connecting up soon.
For one thing, the plot point of Punz being Dream’s spy hasn’t really come into play very much but now, with him claiming he was “factionless” and gaining an inside look at the Badlands’ plans? It brings up the question of whether, when Punz reports to Dream on this, Dream would be favorable towards the Badlands’ plot or see it as a threat.
To be honest, I could see it going either way.
The Badlands are clearly going for complete domination over Dream’s entire faction, after all, so they could easily be seen as a threat.
On the other hand, though, Dream’s motivations of uniting the server tend to place higher in his priorities than puppeting Eret around as a king of a faction. Dream doesn’t act on his faction allegiances first, he acts on his server-wide goals first.
So if he sees that the Badlands are doing this with the goal of causing short-term chaos for long-term peace, ending up with everyone united under one faction in a peaceful utopia?
That perfectly aligns with Dream’s motivations.
“Chaos wins,” yes, but with the ultimate goal of peace and unity with no country lines dividing anyone.
Why should it matter whether the one faction everyone serves is Dream SMP or the Badlands? Dream’s greater goal of unity and peace would be achieved.
NOW, as for the new developments with the Blood Vines themselves…
I’m quite interested by what the green blessed Vines imply.
There’s quite a bit of red-green symbolism that happens on the Dream SMP.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the fact that pouring holy water on the Blood Vines turns them lime green ends up having something to do with the green man himself.
Have you noticed how, while it started as a purely funny bit with Quackity, Tommy and Tubbo, Church Prime has been steadily gaining more and more prominence in the lore?
Dream brings it up as a sign that he enforces peace, as he’s the one who /kills people when they murder in the Holy Land.
And he also implies that since he’s the one who created the neutral zone in the first place, he’s also the one with the power to revoke it.
Dream is very much tied to Church Prime. He has power over Church Prime.
So I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that either these Crimson Vines are an extension of Dream’s supernatural power, or an opposing force to Dream’s power that Dream sees as a threat.
Not to mention a certain Enderman hybrid who, when it comes to color symbolism, is caught right dead center in between.
The other eye lime green.
Now, currently, Dream is in a strong alliance with the Badlands, as Sam’s the one building the prison for him, and it’s likely that the Badlands will become the prison guards.
Not to mention, Dream said that if he would be able to reveal the secret of Schlatt’s book to anyone, it would be Sam and Bad.
So now that Pandora’s Vault is finished, it’s only a matter of time before it intersects with the main plot line, the Blood Vines plotline and perhaps with Tommy’s fight with Dream for the discs.
But what’s interesting to note is that, that first stream where the Blood Vines appeared was also the one where Dream, Sam and Bad were all laying the foundations for Pandora’s Vault and discussing the prison’s use.
And Dream seemed a little…bothered by them. He was weirded out.
Pandora’s Vault was named the same day the Blood Vines were first discovered.
These two running plotlines have been running parallel to each other since the start.
And they’re connected together simply by virtue of involving the same people: the Badlands.
Sam has played an interesting role in both plots, and has actually come into a bit of conflict with Bad a couple times in both.
For one thing, that first day, Sam and Bad got into a brief conflict since Bad hadn’t been aware about the prison and was worried that it would impact his property value. Sam convinced him it would be a benefit for the Badlands in the long run.
Then, when it came to the Egg, Sam has always been the most resistant to the Egg, always insisting that it’s “bad juju.” Even Puffy, who has her misgivings, still loves the Vines. Sam, though, is 100% against it.
Sam might end up having some tension of loyalty between Dream and Bad.
The foundations of these plots, all these little hanging threads that have been floating around for the past month?
I feel like things are about to start intertwining.
