The Marker and Legacy of Antipolo City
By Darlene Mae A. Olaño
It’s been a year since Mayor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares III was elected and proclaimed as the City Mayor of Antipolo. And with that span of time that he’s been in service, his administration strived hard to achieve what’s best for Antipoleños.
In the flag raising ceremony of the Antipolo City government employees last July 21 at Sumulong Park, Atty. Henry Rosantina stated in the accomplishment report of City Administrator’s Office that the administration experienced many firsts while serving the Antipoleños.
First in Education, the administration was able to give free uniforms, bags and school supplies to the students of public elementary and high schools. Also, the first ever Antipolo Science High School was rise through the help of Councilor Josefina “Pining” Gatlabayan. And soon to rise is the Antipolo Institute of Technology.
First in health, four hospitals are planning to rise in Antipolo City. One hospital which was located in Padilla was already finished and it was now under the control and supervision of City of Antipolo. The construction of another hospital located in Dalig was already on going. Another hospital in Cabading Area was also under construction. And to service Mambugan, Mayamot and Cupang, another hospital was planning to build near Mambugan Barangay Hall. The four hospitals were promised to finish before the end of Mayor Jun’s term.
First in peace and order, through the help of the Office of Public Safety and Security (OPSS), pedestrian lanes and sidewalks are now well distinguished and properly monitored. Also, policies in road safety are strictly implemented to the public to prevent accidents.
In terms of Employment, the city was conducting job fair mostly every week.
Another first and maybe the most important among all their firsts is that they will be residing in their new home—the newly erected Antipolo City Hall.
Antipolo City hall has now its new image. It was painted in white so that the employees will always be reminded that they should serve to the public with utmost honesty and sincerity.
“Hindi lang po yan basta landmark. Iyan po ay magiging isang gusali na titingnan at titingalain po ng bawat isa atin, from the smallest child as he grows old, he would look upon to the marker and legacy of the city of Antipolo.” said Atty. Rosantina.
As they begin to work inside the new Antipolo City Hall, Atty. Rosantina reminds the employees to always serve with a smile on their faces.
“Papasok po tayo sa ating bagong tahanan with a smile. Bakit po with a smile? Because the aroma of our smile will spread inside the city hall and it will be reverberating into the hearts of every Antipoleños” said Atty. Rosantina
“Ang maayos at magandang pamahalaan ay salamin ng tapat at numero unong panunungkulan.” reminded by the city administrator as they ended their morning program.
Offices that are now residing in the City Hall are: Administrator’s Office, Office of Atty. Torres, Office of Atty. Rosantina, Mayor’s Office, Budget, Accounting, MIS, HRMO, Legal, Chief of Staff, Engineering, Planning and Development Office, Public Information Office, Environment and Waste Management Office, SP Secretariat and Social Welfare and Development Office. Other offices are still in Ynares Center.

Beating the deadline. Squeezing my brain cells for some ideas. Wishing that adrenaline rush would heat me up. >,<
I hate that I missed this opportunity. Crap!
