But he was a monster who only wanted to feel blood on his hands and taste fear on his tongue.
Lauren lowered her camera, shaking her head quickly and smiling sweetly. “That’s okay!” She said brightly. “You don’t need it, you’re really pretty.” Tipping her head, her smile dropped minutely as she became serious. “I’ll delete the picture though, if you want me to.” She assured the redhead.
"What?" Now, this girl had to be crazy. Willow knew that she was a mess without her makeup, but the compliment was nice regardless. "Oh, no. As long as.. well, what are you going to use it for?" If she was going to use it for anything at all, it was curiosity getting the better of her, really. "I’m Willow, by the way," the blonde said with a smile, extending her hand out toward the other.
Lauren smiled sweetly, humming thoughtfully at the question as she looked the picture over. "I dunno!" She said, tipping her head in thought. "Maybe nothing - I just like taking photos, really." She blushed a bit, smiling again and taking the blonde's hand. "I'm Lauren. It's nice to meet you!"
you’re falling back to me you’re a star that i can’t see i know you’re out there somewhere out there
Lauren exhales shakily after a bit, pulling her sleeves down over her hands and wiping at her nose a bit. “Think I ruined your shirt.” She mumbles, shifting a bit and resting her cheek to Chris’ chest, glancing up at him just a bit.
Chris loosens his hold when Lauren pulls back, glancing down. His shirt soaked, but he couldn’t care less. He shakes his head dismissively and brushes Lauren’s cheek gently. “It can be cleaned later,” He assures her softly, brushing her hair back.
Lauren exhales slowly, wiping at her eyes again and glancing up at Chris, settling her cheek against his shoulder again. It's comforting having him here - and it's been a long time since she's been comfortable around a guy, so she appreciates it even more.
Lauren swallows thickly, nodding a bit and wiping at her eyes quietly - Destiny’s right, there’s all sorts of other options. So that’s a small comfort - very small, but all the same. She tries to let her sister’s words comfort her more - she knows it’ll be okay in time. She’s just not sure when.
"I know, baby, I know," She whispers, brushing Lauren’s hair back gently. "I know it hurts, but it will get better." If anyone can say that with certainty, it’s Destiny. "You’ll have a baby, however you have to." She leans forward, kissing her sister’s forehead softly.
Lauren nods, closing her eyes and shifting closer, settling her arms around her sister. "Thank you." She whispers - there's no one in the world she trusts more with this kind of thing, with anything really, than her sister.
Say something I’m giving up on you I’ll be the one if you want me to Anywhere I would have followed you Say something I’m giving up on you
Lauren curls her fingers in Chris’ shirt a bit, allowing a quiet sob to pass her lips. She shifts closer, squeezing her eyes shut and pressing her face to Chris’ chest - she’s probably ruining his shirt, and she feels bad about it, so she tries to reign in her crying a bit.
This is breaking his heart, Jesus. Chris runs his hand gently along Lauren’s hair, down her back, and back up again, hoping to soothe her, because it’s all he can do. He kisses her hair softly, resting his cheek to the top of her head.
Lauren exhales shakily after a bit, pulling her sleeves down over her hands and wiping at her nose a bit. "Think I ruined your shirt." She mumbles, shifting a bit and resting her cheek to Chris' chest, glancing up at him just a bit.
Lauren sniffs again, wiping at her eyes a bit. Her head hurts, her throat aches, but she doesn’t have any more tears - she can’t, not after that. “Is it?” She mumbles, lifting her eyes just a bit - there’s no bigger supporter of her than her sister, so to hear that is comforting, if only just a bit. But maybe just a bit is what she needs right now.
Destiny nods, brushing Lauren’s hair back gently. God, she hates that unsteady, teary voice, that’s not one she ever wants to hear from her sister. “It is,” She insists softly. “It is okay. There are more options than just this one, if you want children.” It may not be the same, but it is a small comfort.
Lauren swallows thickly, nodding a bit and wiping at her eyes quietly - Destiny's right, there's all sorts of other options. So that's a small comfort - very small, but all the same. She tries to let her sister's words comfort her more - she knows it'll be okay in time. She's just not sure when.
Lauren sniffs a bit, letting Chris take the papers when he pulls at them. She sucks in a shaky breath, rubbing at her nose a bit and keeping her eyes on the wall - if she focuses on that little spot in the middle, she won’t cry. She hopes - the stinging of tears in her eyes as Chris pulls her closer betrays that hope, though.
He doesn’t know what to do - there isn’t anything he can do, honestly. Chris sighs softly, pressing his face to Lauren’s hair. He can’t imagine what she’s going through, dealing with this, he really can’t. So he continues to hold her, hand moving in a soothing motion along her back.

"Say cheese!" Lauren, you can’t just take pictures of strangers randomly. It’s impolite.
Alright, so she was taken by surprise. It wasn’t every day a stranger came up and took your picture. Blue orbs suddenly became hidden, as Willow’s small hands covered her face. “Oh, no, no, no. I don’t even have make up on today.”
Lauren lowered her camera, shaking her head quickly and smiling sweetly. "That's okay!" She said brightly. "You don't need it, you're really pretty." Tipping her head, her smile dropped minutely as she became serious. "I'll delete the picture though, if you want me to." She assured the redhead.
Lauren curls into Destiny, throat beginning to ache as she cries. Eventually she feels like she has no more tears left, like she has nothing left to let out as she cries. So she slumps a bit, sniffs quietly, and shifts closer to her sister.
There’s nothing else to do but this, so Destiny does it without complaint. She rubs Lauren’s back gently, resting her cheek to her hair, and lets her cry it all out. She knows how badly she’s hurting - her own chances of having children are slim to none, but that’s her own fault. And now the neck of her shirt is damp, but she couldn’t care less. “It’s okay,” She murmurs softly, kissing her sister’s hair. “I promise, it’s okay.”
Lauren sniffs again, wiping at her eyes a bit. Her head hurts, her throat aches, but she doesn't have any more tears - she can't, not after that. "Is it?" She mumbles, lifting her eyes just a bit - there's no bigger supporter of her than her sister, so to hear that is comforting, if only just a bit. But maybe just a bit is what she needs right now.
Lauren curls into Chris, tucking her head to his shoulder. She stays quiet for a few minutes - minutes that seem, to her at least, to drag on into hours and days and weeks. She watches the wall blankly, fingers curling and uncurling, tracing over the word on the bottom of the page. “I can’t have kids.” She says finally, her voice so soft it’s hardly audible.
Chris opens his eyes, looking down at Lauren. “What?” He murmurs, brows furrowing. can’t have kids? It’s then that he notices the papers in her hands. He extracts them without letting go of her, scanning them quickly - infertile. Oh. Oh, God. “Oh, Lo,” He breathes, dropping the papers. Chris wraps Lauren back up and holds her tighter than ever, kissing her hair. “I’m so sorry..” That’s so inadequate, he knows, but there isn’t much else he can do.
Lauren sniffs a bit, letting Chris take the papers when he pulls at them. She sucks in a shaky breath, rubbing at her nose a bit and keeping her eyes on the wall - if she focuses on that little spot in the middle, she won't cry. She hopes - the stinging of tears in her eyes as Chris pulls her closer betrays that hope, though.
Lauren follows Destiny’s pull, and the floodgates break. She curls into her sister, presses her face to her shoulder, and chokes out a sob, fingers curling tightly into her blanket. She hasn’t cried this hard in three years - she remembers exactly the last time she cried this hard (and it’s something she’d rather not think about).
God, her heart is gonna shatter to pieces. Destiny wraps Lauren up as tightly as she can, fixing her blanket around her. Cupping her head, she kisses her hair, running her hand along her back. “I’m so sorry,” She whispers, closing her eyes. Tears are forming but she refuses to let them fall. No, she has to be strong, she has to be what she’s supposed to be for her sister - the rock, the support system, the one that fixes everything - but this is one thing she can’t fix.
Lauren curls into Destiny, throat beginning to ache as she cries. Eventually she feels like she has no more tears left, like she has nothing left to let out as she cries. So she slumps a bit, sniffs quietly, and shifts closer to her sister.
Lauren glances up at Chris’ voice, heart cracking again. Instead of speaking, she shifts forward slowly, pressing her face to Chris’ shoulder and exhaling shakily, fingers curling tighter around the paper she hasn’t let go of since she got it an hour ago.
Chris responds immediately and shifts closer to the chair, wrappng his arms around Lauren. He holds her to him, shifting again to sit on the couch so he can hold her properly. Worry seeps from his eyes to his mouth, forming a frown as he holds his Princess. Whatever it is, he’s not gonna push yet. Instead, he simply holds her, offering what comfort he can.
Lauren curls into Chris, tucking her head to his shoulder. She stays quiet for a few minutes - minutes that seem, to her at least, to drag on into hours and days and weeks. She watches the wall blankly, fingers curling and uncurling, tracing over the word on the bottom of the page. "I can't have kids." She says finally, her voice so soft it's hardly audible.
Lauren barely glances up as a new presence settles beside her - she doesn’t need to to know it’s her sister. Sucking in a breath, she sniffs a bit and presses the paper into Destiny’s hands. “I went to the doctor’s last week.” She mumbles.
Destiny watches Lauren, glancing down only when she feels something press into her hand. This can’t be good. A million thoughts race through her mind, a countless amount of diseases that could be plaguing her sister as she smoothes the paper and reads it. When she gets to the bottom, her heart drops. Inferitle - oh. “Honey,” She breathes, dropping the paper and reaching up, pulling her sister into her.
Lauren follows Destiny's pull, and the floodgates break. She curls into her sister, presses her face to her shoulder, and chokes out a sob, fingers curling tightly into her blanket. She hasn't cried this hard in three years - she remembers exactly the last time she cried this hard (and it's something she'd rather not think about).
Lauren feels like her heart has been ripped out of her chest. She feels like she can’t breathe, like her stomach’s dropped out of her ass, like the world’s stopped - God, she can’t even cry, it’s been so long since she felt like she couldn’t cry. God knows she hadn’t expected the words at the bottom of the page - uninhabitable. Uninhabitable.. She’d only gone in for a routine checkup, only taken the blood test and x-ray for the hell of it. One single word stares up at her, in black and white print right there, a single word deciding her entire future.
Infertile.
Oh, boy. That is not a good look, not at all. Chris hesitates in the door way for just a moment, watching Lauren. He doesn’t know if she wants to be alone right now, but he has a feeling that she shouldn’t be. So he shifts forward, kneeling down before her. “What’s going on?” He asks softly.
Lauren glances up at Chris' voice, heart cracking again. Instead of speaking, she shifts forward slowly, pressing her face to Chris' shoulder and exhaling shakily, fingers curling tighter around the paper she hasn't let go of since she got it an hour ago.
