I’m joining the unplugged cult. I’m off to hell. I need the help, though. I guess sacrificing your soul is the price to pay for a healthy, happy life. Hopefully, it won’t be too painful. But, I won’t be able to blog there. No electronic devices. I’d say it’s been fun, but it hasn’t. It’s been a painful five days. Hope you’ve enjoyed my tailspin. This is rock bottom, folks. Pro tip: don’t catfish your entire family. It doesn’t work out well. My brother ran away. My dad is still gone. My mom’s been breaking china plates. The voices won’t shut up. “You needed to cleanse your soul.” “You’ve embraced yourself. Soak it in.” God, I can’t take it anymore.

The voices convinced me. I told mom about dad. I was catfishing them, okay. I told her. Dad’s already gone. Mom’s crying. And I still haven’t told my brother.

I called him out on it. He folded like a lawn chair. Cried and cried that he was sorry. Said he only wants me. Says he’s going to stop with all the other women. Says he’ll leave his wife! All of the voices want me to tell her about everything. It’s the first time all the voices have agreed. I don’t know what to do. I’ve been on this computer for like twelve hours. I got to go to bed.

I’ve spent the past six hours on Facebook. Networking is how you get jobs, right? Some concerning stuff on the face of books, though. Found out one of the people I’ve been catfishing has also been talking to some other girls. I don’t know if I should tell or not. Keep you posted.

I used to work as a pharmaceutical rep until my boss found me on Facebook. Again. Over the past month, she’d found me on Facebook probably every day, some days more than once. I guess it was warranted. Catfishing isn’t a part of my daily duties. I don’t know what I’m going to do now, though. I don’t have any skills.

I’ve been sitting here for hours thinking that last line needs some explaining. Yes, I’ve been catfishing people. But, for one, it’s all pretty harmless. It’s not like I’ve convinced anyone to drop their entire life for me. That won’t happen. And, it’s not even my fault. It’s the voices. They tell me to do it. Not all the voices, only the loudest one. If I don’t do it, he’ll hurt me. At the start, I refused, and I got run off the road not even an hour later. How do you deny a disembodied voice that’s always in your head and seems to have control over the world around you?

Is this thing kind of like therapy? Do I just jump right into it and divulge my deepest, darkest secrets? Might as well, none of you know who I am. Hello, my name is [REDACTED] and I see things. Blood on walls, random strangers looking into my window, things of that nature. That’s only the half of it, though. I hear things as well. It’s normal, scaredy-cat stuff turned up to eleven. Creaking walls, footsteps when nobody’s home, screams. I also hear voices. My only moments of silence are infiltrated by a chorus of droning whispers. They tell me what to do, how to act, that I’m a terrible person but also the best person. They lecture me on individuality and deceit and what not. They’re my only friends, but like the kind that you know will get you into trouble but can’t escape. The type of friends that make you catfish people.
