“Hey, check out what I just got.”
“Oh wow! That’s really cool!” Darren smiled.
“I know. Thank you for that riveting comment, though.”
“I just wanted to give you some feed back, sorry.”
You really think so?
“Yeah, absolutely.” She chuckled.
“I told you it would be. I’m terrible at bowling.”
Darren smiled. “Oh you’re not THAT bad..”
“That’s actually pretty funny..”
Danika smiled. “Alrighty then. What are we doing this time?”
Darren rubbed his palms on the front of his pants nervously. “Well.. I don’t know, what do you like to do?”
“Maybe you ought to go out and do something other than study.”
Darren groaned. “That’s not as easy as it sounds.”
Danika grabbed Darren’s hands. “Calm down. You’ve studied harder than anyone I know, you’ll be fine.”
Darren looked at their hands, then back at Danika. “Yeah, well... I guess I can take a small break.”
“Just hold still!”
“Well, if you want, you can talk about it and I can try to help you. Otherwise, we don’t have to talk if you don’t want to.”
“It’s just... frustrating. Girls are frustrating.” He finally sighed. “Well, not all of them, just this particular one, really.”
“I don’t know if this bag will fit two people, darling. We may need to find another hiding place.” Halee said chuckling.
“I just might. I think a bag is a pretty dangerous way of hiding though.”
“Well in that case, it hardly sounds like you need a break.”
Darren scratched the back of his head. “I can’t remember the last time I actually looked up from a book.”
“Why are you stressed out and frustrated?” Cade shrugged his shoulders. “Humbled and dealing with things, I suppose.”
“There’s just so much stuff going on, like all the time.” He shrugged. “It’s stressful.”
“I don’t think I can deal with finals. I will be hiding if anyone wants to join me.”
“I would absolutely want to join you. I’m over worked!”
“You take yourself too seriously, it’s OK to relax sometimes.”
Darren shook his head. “I can’t, finals are happening too soon.”
“You kind of got int to it so… so I have no judgment whatsoever.” Cade smiled as he sat down on his bed. “How are you, mate?’
Darren shrugged. “Stressed out, frustrated, but alive so that’s good..How about you?”
“Yeah? What subject are you on right now?”
“I’m on potions, it’s one of my best subjects so it almost feels like a break itself.”
Cool.
I’ve gotten the basics of the potions that we’ve learned this year down, I’ve just noticed that I’ve been having trouble remembering the small things. Like which direction to stir.
Darren nodded. “The trouble with that is the small things tend to be the most important.”
