Gonna trash my OC.
Well, I guess the operation "Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to" is a go. I'm going to redesign my alter-ego OC (and pfp) from scratch. I sort of wanted to do this for a long time, for a lot of reasons, but when you have one character for pfp for 15 years, it's kinda hard to go through with it... Feels a bit like killing a part of yourself.
Why are we animators compelled to do this with the rigs at least once?
Cthulhu statue
In a fit of manic obsession, I've made myself a bronze statue of some kind. IĚÍ ĚŞtÍ̡̊ ÍŹÍĚwÍ̴̡̼hÍŚḚ̌̚iĚ̢͌ĚĚšsÍĚĚĚšpÍÍŻĚÍĄÍÍeĮ́ÍĚŽĚŹrĚ ÍŞÍŞĚÍĚŽsĚĚ´Í˘Ě ĚĚÍÍ ÍÍ tĚÍŁĚĄÍĚÍÍoĮ̸́ÍÍĚŠĚ ÍŽĚÍŞÍŠÍĚÍ mĚÍÍÍĚĚŞeÍ̿ͼĚÍ̴̸̧ĚĚ̹̯Í
Cthulhu idol 3d print for metal casting
I've found a way to cast a Cthulhu idol in bronze, so I printed it out. Believe or not, I slept poorly while it was printing o.o (This is pure PLA, and it is blue because I rubbed it with jewelry wax to smooth out the print lines)

Art piece I've made on a whim a year ago for my webcomic. Non-canon, obviously... or yet.  ͥ° ÍĘ ÍĄÂ°

Leaving the Cradle has updated!
Page 149Â of my scifi webcomic is released! Go check it out! http://leavingthecradle.com
Ah. The notes are not a good place.
I'll start with this screenshot. Almost every word of this is a blatant lie.
Do not go to lawn care or landscaping websites for information on how nature works. They are not reliable sources, they are trying to sell you shit you don't need by fearmongering about natural processes.
The leaf layer conserves and absorbs water, helps mitigate flooding, and provides nutrients to the soil. Fallen leaves are the MAIN source of nutrients for the soil.
They "attract" beneficial insects that prey on pests and detritivores that break them down into nutrients.
Many butterflies (such as tiger swallowtails), stick bugs, many beetles (including ladybugs), and almost all moths are dependent on fallen leaves to hibernate in to survive the winter. If you landfill the leaves, you're literally throwing away a whole generation of beneficial insects.
Disease problems are so common in lawns because 1) they're monocultures, which are notoriously susceptible to disease and 2) people overwater them, partly because lawn soil is typically so severely compacted it can't absorb water. (Leaves help with water absorption!)
Also, having spent a lot of time in lawn care forums, 95% of the things people diagnose as fungus are not actually fungus, but instead yellowing due to extreme soil compaction, benign non-harmful mushrooms, cobwebs on the ground, polyester stuffing from a dog toy, literal algae growing on compacted mud that's being overwatered...
I don't know what I could possibly say that could top "I almost DIED because of the smell of rotting leaves."
Just pile them up in a flower bed, if you must. (But don't shred them.)
Can we talk about like, the whole concept of the american lawn? We donât generally have lawns here where I live, but we have land plots around our summer houses. My plot has trees and bushes and stuff and people say that it basically almost looks like a forest now (it gets kinda a bit scary during strong winds, NGL). We have all sorts of grass growing, flowers, and stuff, and we donât cut it all the time and everywhere, allowing it to grow naturally (It is very pretty, but sadly also means ticks are a threat). People one plot away from us are fans of an american-style lawn ground... And, IDK, it looks so... lifeless in comparison? Despite being covered in green grass. They even have one tree there.

This is an automated post so that my account wouldnât be taken away for inactivity as per new site rules that were rolled in 17.12.2018. It will be reposted once every half year, just to be sure. New tumblr rules are horrible.

Dragonsplainer: someone who thinks that the wyvern/dragon/wyrm/etc distinction matters outside of media that specifically uses that terminology, and will âcorrectâ anyone using dragon as a catchall term for big monster lizards
Yeah, but, like, on the other hand, generalizations are evil and should go away as well. We now have people claiming that anything that's anthropomorphic but not humanoid is a furry (And yes, they thus agree that xenomorphs from âAlienâ are furries). It genuinely feels like a slap in the face each time somebody calls my work "a furry comic". Anyway, I think that wyvern is a dragon that's built like a giant lizard bat. Whenever it's a true dragon or not is left to the person doing the classification this time around.

Nothing can't quite compare to that feeling when you writing a script and the characters suddenly start GETTING THEIR OWN IDEAS about where the plot should be going. Most exciting and a tiny bit scary. Who's in control here?!
I am upset about the caaaaaaat ;o;
Yeah, I guess Iâve had over a decade to get used to the idea so it doesnât bother me as much anymore. Still sad though. đ˘
Wait, wait, hold on. Are you saying that the actual progress of the comic is ten years behind the actual planned story?! Woah. I... couldn't. I'd axed and reshaped the story to go in a completely different direction at least two times in that time, and many minor improvements would render huge swathes of planned story for changing due to butterfly effect. How can you keep yourself from changing the story with new experience and ideas that you had gathered in these ten years?
The stock aliens of Mainstream media: The greys, Humans with rubber heads, cat people, evil reptile men, hivemind eusocial bugs.
The stock aliens of Weird sci fi/speculative evolution/alien enthusiast communities online: 6 limbed centaur people, elephant-dinosaurs, balloon creatures, spaghetti octopus, a human but in the future so itâs really fucked up
Additionally: flying alien who walks on their wings
â 6 limbed people
â octopuses
â wing-walking birbs
Iâm.. Iâm still creative, right? I still have fantasy, right? I didnât knew they were so widespread!
