"How can I possibly trust you?"
“Is there anyone you can trust in a world as corrupted as this? I doubt that. But I am offering you a chance to become stronger, and I don’t mean any harm. Whether you can trust me is something you’ll have to find out for yourself, but if I may be honest, I see no point in lying to you.”
"So what are you going to do about the people who cause so much havoc in the world once you create the perfect Utopia, Master Dartz?"
An evil chuckle escaped his lips and he smirked. "The same as you do with stuff you don't like or want anymore, you dispose them. That is what we will do to the people that won't obey our will."
Confrontation || Dartzofatlantis
“Oh—?” Eatos said in a mockingly sweet and curious tone as she watched the so-called King rise from his seat. The hateful smirk that she held only grew and her eyes flashed. She had to make a conscious effort to silence the laughter that threatened to tear from her throat. It seems she managed to get under his skin. That pleased her. Now he had a taste of what he’s been doing to her since he walked into Rafael’s life.
As Dartz raised his voice, she countered by raising hers as well. “You think you’re the only one who knows corruption so well, but you aren’t! I watch your Swordsmen fall into it day in and day out! I have seen you use and manipulate them for your own gain at every opportunity you get! I have to sit in silence and watch my own Master dig himself deeper and deeper into a hole for the sake of your own twisted ideals, and you think that isn’t killing me inside? You think you’re the only one who suffered? Your heart and mind are misguided but you are too blind to see it!” Her voice rang throughout the temple.
The silence that followed once more was deafening, so much that she could hear her heart pounding in her chest. With his back to her now she let her gaze slip to the floor, eyes softening with sadness. No matter how wrong Dartz was, she knew Rafael was loyal to him and she was loyal to Rafael. She would not dare disobey him, and would remain at his side without question. But she would also protect him, fight with everything she had to shield him from this when she could. She was forever Rafael’s Guardian.
“Very well.” She murmured and slowly walked out of the temple. The only sound heard was the soft tapping of her feet upon the ground. Eatos had everything she needed from Dartz, she had the answers she was seeking and it would only be a matter of time before she spoke with Rafael about it.
For a moment Dartz trembled with anger, and he clenched his fists. He then took a deep breath and calmed himself. He would find a way to use the anger within the Guardian against her own Master, he would be sure of that - just to rub it in. He knew it would taint her being in some way, and with that it would taint Rafael. When that time would come, he would be the one to laugh at her own mistake.
"I do not manipulate my Swordsmen, I merely give them orders they are willing to follow up. They trust me, as I gave them everything when they had nothing. I gave them a reason to live again, and maybe it was only to serve me at first. Even then, I have granted them a new life - a better life than they had. I have suffered, and so have they, and probably you as well. But there are more people suffering right now, and I want to help those."
It had become a soft rambling now, and he lowered his head. He did not want to see her in his sight again, but he would be sure to have some kind of payback ready. He would not give in to the Guardian, even after those threats - even if she would tell Rafael everything about him and his schemes. Revenge would be sweet.
Luxury Seat {Because I can}
Rafael jumped a bit when Dartz so gracefully say in his lap, so much so that he was shocked silent for a moment. He wasn’t sure where to put his arms, either around Dartz, or maybe to the sides of the couch. The second option seemed like a better idea. “…..Master Dartz, did… Did you need something?” He inquired curiously.
Rafael shrugged halfheartedly and mentally weighed his options. It was either sit there and deal with it or shove Dartz off and perhaps risk losing his soul. “I have all the patience in the world.” It wasn’t a lie, he wasn’t usually pushy about many things. Well, not unless he was bent on taking the Pharaoh’s soul.
Clearing his throat and relaxing his stiff posture Rafael gazed at the wall ahead of them in thought, letting the silence fall between them momentarily. “You should do that to Valon and Alister to see how they react. It’s only fair.”
A laugh escaped his lips as Rafael spoke, and once he was silent again, he nodded. Of course, that would be something to laugh at, but it would also mean he treated them equally. Sadly, Valon wouldn't have as much patience as Rafael, and Alister would probably give in as well. Not that he cared, though, it would still be humorous. "Very well, I might as well do that."
“Well boss, if that’s the case, then I accept your challenge.” He countered, but soon let his focus and understanding of the situation take over again. “Understood. My focus on the goal and its completion is all that is important right now. I will duel him carefully, not carelessly. It’s high time someone puts him in his place.” He spoke confidently and with conviction in his words.
The sun was beginning set and that meant the plan was to go into action very soon. Rafael walked towards the temple entrance and smiled at the setting sun. His Orichalcos stone began to glow around his neck and he knew the Leviathan was getting stronger. “Master Dartz, it’s almost time. I will be returning to my room for a moment to gather a few things and then I’ll be leaving. Is there any last task you need me to complete before I go?”
Dartz nodded at his words when he finally understood, and showed a small smile. This duel was surely to be won by Rafael, no other outcome would be tolerated. But maybe he had to help him in some way. When Rafael retreated to his room for the night, Dartz looked through some of the cards of their collection to find the one that might be helpful to Rafael in some way.
The next morning Dartz woke up in a good mood - this surely would be the day he had been waiting for, for an eternity. A smirk played on his lips, and after he reassured the Great Leviathan that this would be the day, he went looking for Rafael. As he found him, he smiled, immediately being greeted. "No task, Rafael, but there is something I wish to show you. This." With that, he handed Rafael the card he had been looking for the night before: Guardian Dreadscythe.
{Oooops I haven't been on here for a few days ehehehe... Didn't mean to be gone for that long though, but I have been more active on mihxel and courageousfighter ehehehe... well, Ima try to do drafts today though! }
What would you do if the guardian fled to Rafael and told him everything? What would you do if he chose her over you, believed everything she told him, and in turn no longer trusts you?
“If that would be the case I would let him go, easy as that. If he is stubborn enough to face me in a duel, he will have no chance and his soul will be mine to feed to the Great Leviathan. His anger will take over once he knows everything was a lie, so his mind will be weakened. I do not fear him, he is simply a pawn.”
“Paradises aren’t wrong…”
He wets his lips and takes a breath. How was he supposed to explain this correctly? “Peace. I want everyone to live in peace but even peace only lasts for so long.” His voice quiets as fists clench in frustration. The lollipop in his mouth was swirled around from one cheek through the other until he bit down onto with with a loud ‘crunch’.
“I wonder how long this paradise of yours lasts.”
"Then why won't you help me create this Paradise, when you want the same as I do? My people will live in peace for an eternity, and then even longer. I will make sure they will not fight, that they won't give in to greed. I will not let the same mistakes happen again." And he would stick to his words. He would be the King he failed to be when chaos dawned upon his city, saving mankind from another downfall.
"Humph!"
"Don’t act as if we’re suddenly all friends now. I still remember all the things you put me and the others through. How you used your words to deceive us and only used our Souls to get what you want." She’ll never forgive him for that, never.
"Always the same complaints about what I've put people through, don't you see you allowed this to happen yourself? You gave in to the desire and temptation of obtaining great power. Had you not fallen for that, none of it would have happened to you."

I shrugged. “If your ideals were not so questionable, I doubt this would be the case." My attempts to stop Dartz would continue so long he used the Orichalcos. I did not see an end in sight, so we would be stuck together for many more millenia perhaps.
"My ideals questionable? I do not think so, they're straightforward and furthermore does it cover what simply every human being desires - a perfect place to live in. How is that questionable?" But he knew the other would not let him go on with it if he could prevent it, of course.

{{Because it needs more of this. I want to see that people are having fun playing the character/muse that they’ve chosen. Not feeling obligated/pressured to play their muse the way they “should”; ie, the way others might try to pressure them into doing and trying to control them.
//Could you just imagine Dartz being dragged into a snowball fight?? All three swordsmen fighting over Dartz to be on their team and they're all "Yeah but if he's on MY team, I won't lose my soul since I won't be the one hitting him with snowballs!" Then when they all get really cold they go inside and make a gingerbread house that looks like the temple or something. Rafael makes a gingerbread man with wings for Eatos later and everyone thinks he's crazy for it but he's like "tis the season..."
{Ohmygod this is too adorable omg XD I can totally imagine it though! And Dartz getting all grumpy when snow gets in his hair and all XD }
Christmas at Paradius! All three swordsmen are tasked with decorating headquarters and the temple with lights and trees and ornaments and tinsel! The three swordsmen get each other a gift and then the three of them combine their efforts and give Dartz a gift too! Probably snowball fights ensue later, and baking gingerbread men, all of which they inevitably drag Dartz into as well.

"A pleasure to meet you as well, Dartz"
"So... are you a duelist, Diana?"
"Of all the people to run into… It had to be you.” Mai sneered at the man as she crossed her arms, glaring at him.
"I haven’t forgotten what was done to me and the others. So why are you here… Dartz."
"Mai, what a surprise to see you here, it has been a long time since we've seen each other, hasn't it? But why the frown? You say you haven't forgotten, but not all the memories could have been bad, right?"
When everything falls apart
Daheron moved throughout the palace unseen— he always had a way of doing that. Plus, only those who he wanted to see could see him. And he only wanted to see Dartz.
The Atlantean’s cries weren’t hard to follow, and Daheron soon came across his beloved host— This was tragedy, really. But he did love Dartz, and he couldn’t lie to himself and keep thinking that he’d be able to throw the Atlantean aside. Because he couldn’t.
❝Fear not, love. I will not let you fade. I only wish to know why… W h y did you try to abandon me? Why, when I have loved you, when I have been the one who stays at your side? Why did you try to leave me?❞
Protective arms wrapped around the Atlantean’s form, the deity finding such comfort in that familiar essence.
❝Beloved… You should know. This is the place we’ve built from humanity’s hatred…. But please, let me save you from it… I cannot let it taint you… Anyone but you, love.❞
Once his deity has found him, he let himself fall into the embrace that was offered him. His own arms reached around his beloved, and he clung onto him. He had never been more glad to see the other, though he knew he owed him a thousand apologies - and a reason for his behavior.
He looked up to look at his deity, studying his face and swallowing a lump in his throat. He was a fool for declaring that he did not need him - because Daheron was the one he needed most. Both his power and his presence - he could not live without him. Sighing, he spoke up.
"Maybe I got blinded by power too much, my deity, and I wanted to prove that even without the power you granted me, I am strong - strong as I had been before. But I have been proven wrong. Forgive me, my deity, I did not mean to anger you in any way. I regret the words I spoke, and I will never speak them again."
As if the other could sense his fears, he spoke to him about the palace he was in, and he nodded. Pressing his face into the crook of the other's neck he sighed softly. "They resent me, my deity, and I understand why they would. But we're only trying to create a Paradise, right? Maybe this truly shows that they did not deserve to live in the Paradise we're trying to create."

{❇} — “You do not frighten me, oh once great king." he hissed, the last words dripping with sarcasm. "And just how are you to rule over Atlantis with it remaining submerged in the great depths of the ocean?”
"Soon I will have the power to bring Atlantis back to what it once was, an island in the ocean. Just you wait, Critias." He was sure of his plan and his actions, and he was sure it would happen just as he wanted it to - no one would stop him.
