Scoliosis is all done~
I'll be popping them into their frames and starting on the next duo
I volunteer at an elementary school through a school club. For the end of year party, I was discussing the logistics with the organization's president when she broke the news that there'd be no pizza.
"Aw, shucks!" Was my response. "You couldn't order it from a school approved vendor? Even with our funds?
"Basically," she groaned. "The usual place isn't open that day and I wasn't going to order from the other one."
"What was the other one?" I asked.
"It's" she wrinkled her face and whispered. "A kosher pizzeria."
I waited for the follow up. It didn't come. I repeated her words. "because it's kosher ? "
"Yeah." She sighed. "I just can't endorse that. With global politics."
"You can't endorse a local restaurant so you're not getting pizza for 8 year olds?"
"Yeah. And I bet that their stuff isn't that good -"
"Actually," I interrupted. "That place is fantastic. I love their pizza."
I couldn't tell you her response because I walked away from that conversation. But I am still reeling. This is just the many ways antisemitism shows up and we are all lesser for it.
Eshkachech being sung with cave acoustics??!
I went to an interfaith training recently.
In related news, I found out that I am willing to tackle two rabbis, a priest, a pastor, and a Hindu leader to win in musical chairs.
It's that time of year again...
Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
#i love prayer plants but they're fussy so I don't keep them#can we have a picture op they're so pretty
Behold, Dorothea
(Naming my plant "Gift of God," and then giving her to a seminarian with just the explanation that it's a prayer plant? Okay, that's my bad.)
I should also add- I ran into my rabbi and explained the situation. I then asked, earnestly, if there was a remedy. A mikveh of sorts, or a beit din, or something.
He turned to me, sighed, and said in a very deadpan tone-- "Plants don't have covenants, Joy,"
So Dorothea's a free agent according to rabbinic opinion. I guess I'll permit her to be Roman Catholic.
i wish this was in my cart and not someone else’s
you can just take it from their cart. its not their possession if they haven't bought it yet
if i were thrift shopping and you put your hands into my cart to take a unique handpicked item i was intending to purchase i would break your legs
Don't forget the wedding invite his in-laws put out for his wedding.

One time I was at a pub trivia night with some writer friends and we almost won but there was a tie. As a tiebreaker they asked us and the other team to write down as many moons of Jupiter as we could in two minutes.
None of us are very into astronomy so at first everyone was like oh we’re gonna lose but there were three of us at the table that night who were either former classics majors or otherwise super well read on Roman mythology and the three of us were like give us that paper right now and we just took turns writing down all of the lovers of Jupiter from mythology that we could.
So of course we won lol
You really never know what random niche knowledge you have will come in handy at trivia night. You really don’t.
Surprise! You’ve been Isekai’d into a D&D World… but it’s specifically a 3.5 Edition D&D world and due to a weird Glitch in the system you have been assigned not just a Base Class, but also one of that edition’s weird and wacky Prestige Class as well! Spin this wheel to see what you got!
(I added a short little summary for each Class explaining the basic gist of it. Although obviously you can also look them up to get more detailed info)
So…how are you feeling?
HELL YEAH THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME
This class is perfect for me! (complimentary)
This is pretty cool!
Not bad but… could be better
Some parts of this sounds GREAT and some sound TERRIBLE
I’m pretty sure I’m gonna die but at least I’ll be cool as hell until then
Well, I’m gonna hate being this Class but at least I’m gonna survive
I feel utterly indifferent about my Class
This class is perfect for me… (derogatory)
This isn’t good for me, but… could be worse
Yeah, this sucks
OH MY GOD THIS IS HORRIBLE I AM GONNA BE MISERABLE AND THAN I’LL DIE
Reading @anim-ttrpgs's Death Bed and an evil smile slowly grows across my face as each of the mechanics click into place. I can't quite explain, but I have never had an experience like reading an ANIM game. As a chronic GM my mind instantly fills with ways to push these mechanics in fun ways to challenge players. The games really justify themselves in such a way that you feel your own comprehension of TTRPGS as a medium expanding with each turn of the page. It's an absolute TREAT to read!
If you're interested, Eureka is the place to start, it's the most finished, and is sort of required reading for the other less finished games.
A TTRPG for deep character roleplay, realistic combat, player deduction, and secret monster antics!
Eureka is also a huge win for people who like women that are snakes
i look progressively gayer every time i go on dropout
