this is my favorite special effects shot of all time. a single continuous take. no cuts. no compositing. no camera tricks. and, I cannot stress this enough, no mirrors. I love it so much.

they filmed it with linda hamilton's actual real life twin, and did it this way so that they could have a dummy stand in for arnold in the foreground, allowing them to convincingly pull the cylinder out of his skull while he talks them through it in the "mirror"

and furlong is not seen in the "mirror" so you just had arnold and linda on the other side... nice.
