Dear Whomever Sent Me THIS RUDE ASS MOTHERFUCKING ASK,

I know you read that one Tumblr post about how living in California grants you magical advantages in landing a job in the animation/art industry, and then saw that I lived in San Francisco and did work for DC; put the two together and said ayo, this girl got that Batgirl gig because she lives in California! DUH!

In short: go fuck yourself.

In longer terms: I’m sorry you hate yourself that much that you went out of your way to misdirect hate towards someone who has had relatively tiny success thus far, and whose life in California has had nothing to do with getting comics jobs (also, I’m in San Francisco, honey, there’s no comics industry hub here). Die in a fire.

I did not go to CalArts or Art Center, no one in California got me that Batgirl gig, I don’t have some swag job in animation, I am still poor, no one knows who I am, and I worked my fucking ASS off to even get my foot in the door.

But even so, even if you think your art is more deserving of paid work than my supposedly not-so-great-but-California-blessed portfolio,

guess who still got the job over your whiny, lazy ass.

Sure, it’s been less than a week since I shared this song with you, but it’s such an incredible work of art that I simply must re-share again, especially now that it’s accompanied by amazing animated visuals. The video premiered on, of all places, Jimmy Fallon’s tumblr. Fly away with A Love Like Pi’s Wide Awake with me again, in all its Eastern influenced exotic enchantment and ruminative melancholy. Wide Awake, despite its name, feels like an ethereal dream that balances old and new. Its old world strings are finely balanced with SAFIA like entrancing electronic production. The breathtaking single is the first from A Love Like Pi’s conceptual full length album III, due out September 28th via Krian Music Group.
