Crutchie looked down the road, and then back at the Newsboy’s Lodging House. “Not the fellas, though—it looks like they’se a bunch of real sleepyheads today.”

Dash laughed a little and nodded. "I wish I could be a sleepyhead, I could barely crawl out of bed! Thank the stars for coffee, huh?" 

She smiled and glanced up at the lodging house, wondering how many of the boys were still lounging in bed with the covers over their heads, trying to block out the sun. Giggling at the thought, she turned back to Crutchie.

"Do you wanna walk down together, or should we wait for the others?"

Dash jumped when she heard a loud thud beside her, quickly whirling around in her seat. A boy around her age had tripped and spilled his books across the floor. Smiling, she quickly scrambled out of her seat to help him.

"Wow, that’s a lot of potions. I’d probably try to chuck them too if I had that much work." she handed the boy two of the three books. "You’re not hurt or anything, are you? That was quite a spill!"

"I’m fine," Morris said. "Just a Potions Test that’ll kill my grade if I fail. I didn’t mean to throw em at ya." He picked the books up, trying to hold them in his arms. "Are you taking potions?"

Dash nodded and smiled a little. "Unfortunately, yes. I'm not the best at it, though." She held out her hand. "I'm Anna, but some of the students call me Dash." However, quickly realizing he couldn't shake her hand with all those books, she pulled it back. "Ah, whoops! Sorry, I forgot-"

Crutchie turned, and stuck his head out of the window upon hearing Dash's voice. He smiled broadly, and then shrugged as if he were considering the weather.

"Why wouldn't I be? We's alive an' healthy, ain't we? Hold on there, Dash. I'll be down in jus' a few minutes," he promised, holding up his hand to her.

Crutchie limped away from the window and started hopping down the stairs, wishing he could take them two at a time. But he made it to the door and burst out, limping down to Dash. "Sleep good las' night?"

Dash grinned as Crutchie limped outside, walking over to him. "Nah, not really. I was up late reading again." She said, stifling a yawn. "It seems like you did, though!" she reached over and ruffled his hair under his hat playfully. "It looks like it's going to be a nice day!" she said cheerfully, looking up.

The sky was already bright blue with bits of rosy pink speckled across it. Even if she did have to get up early to see it, the Sunrise was Dash's favorite part of her morning.

 Dash yawned as she poured over her books in the library,starting to really get fed up with the whole “Astrology” thing. The young Gryffindor simply could not remember which constellation was in the sky when, or  which one meant impending doom upon all of humanity- to be honest, it was all rubbish, really.

He tried to keep from stressing, but the more he thought about his tests the more he felt worried. Crutchie and Dash

"Rise an’ shine, fellas! Gotta get up early if we wanna sell those papes!"

Crutchie stood on the fire escape outside the back of the Lodging House, yelling inside to all the tired newsies. He had been up for two hours now, explaining why his hair was flat (you should have seen it when he first woke up) and why he already had an excited gleam in his eye. He took the handle of his crutch and started limping inside, occasionally throwing different pieces of clothing at his friends. 

"Get up," he called, smiling. "It’s almost time tah go, fellas!"

Dash yawned sleepily as she made her way down the streets towards the distribution office. If there was one thing she was certain about, it was that she was not a morning person. She adjusted her shoulder bag and kept walking, passing the Lodging House.

Just then, she heard a cheerful voice from up above. She glanced up to see Crutchie, happily nagging at his friends to get out of bed. She laughed to herself. 

"Morning, Crutchie! You sure seem cheerful!"
