Every time the BBC are looking for a new doctor it pisses me off when people are like 

It MUST be a woman or it MUST be a black person or it MUST NOT be a straight person

Like no, fuck that shit, minorities and those who experience persecution should not be used as tokens to improve diversity.

The doctor should be cast on one basis only: 

Whoever is best for the job

The decision should be made regardless of whether the actor is male, female, straight, gay, cis, trans, black, white etc

Can I add that ask for a cast JUST BECAUSE of their skin colour or their gender is actually pretty mortifying and offensive to the actors because it would put their job experience and their merits in a lower position? They are professionals. None of them would be happy to know that they’ve been casted just because of something they don’t have a merit on (You don’t choose what colour would be your skin or what would be your gender). They don’t want the a gift. They deserve to prove to the casting people that they are the perfect person to choose because they are the best. Regardless everything else.
