WHAT ARE WE?
SUM. "what were they?" people would ask. but you and geonyeob were just friends.
(STUDY GROUP MLST) . park geonyeob x gn!reader · angst, one sided love, pining · kind of inspired by what are we by ha sungwoon except no happy ending :(
the first time geonyeob touched you like that, it was an accident. at least, thatâs what you told yourself.
his hand had brushed against yoursâjust for a secondâon the floor of his living room. you were sitting cross-legged across from each other, half a pizza between you, some variety show playing in the background that neither of you were really watching. youâd been talking about nothing, the way friends do when itâs late and the city outside has gone to sleep. then he reached for another slice and your fingers touched, and neither of you moved away.
you didnât look at him. you didnât have to. the air had shifted.
the silence was too full.
he said your name like a question. you didnât answer.
and thatâs how it startedânot with a kiss or a confession, but with something small and irreversible.
after that night, things didnât change all at once. you still met up to eat. still traded notes for assignments. still lay on his couch for hours without saying a word. but now, sometimes, his head would fall onto your shoulder. sometimes, youâd lie down beside him just a little too close. sometimes, your hand would find his without meaning to.
it wasnât dating. it wasnât casual, either. there were no labels, no conversations, just this unspoken thing burning quietly between you, like a secret you were both too scared to say out loud.
you told yourself not to read into it. but it was hard not to when he looked at you like that.
like you were the only thing keeping him grounded.
like you were something he shouldnât want but couldnât let go of.
and then came the night you kissed.
neither of you talked about it. you didnât have to.
it was slow and deliberate, like you'd both been holding your breath for months and finally exhaled. he kissed you like he meant it, like heâd been waiting, like heâd already imagined it a thousand times and was terrified this would be the last. his hands were careful on your skin, almost reverent. yours clung to his shirt like you were afraid of waking up.
when you pulled away, he rested his forehead against yours and said nothing.
neither did you.
maybe if you had, things wouldâve been different.
maybe.
but you werenât just friends anymoreânot after that. even if no one knew. even if neither of you had the guts to say it aloud.
you told yourself it didnât matter. that as long as geonyeob was still there, still texting, still laughing with you like always, it didnât matter what you called it.
you lied to yourself so often, it started to sound like truth.
but the silence grew heavier with time. the in-between stretched further. you started noticing the way heâd pull away when someone else was around. how his hand would find yours under the lunch table but disappear the second a friend sat down. the nights you hung out late became less frequent, and when you did, the space between you walking down the sidewalk felt wider than it used to.
still, heâd look at you like he meant something. still, heâd hold you like he didnât want to let go.
but when he spoke, it was always about everything else. never this. never you.
and you started to wonderâif something matters but no one says it out loud, does it still count?
then one night, he didnât answer.
youâd sent a messageâsomething stupid and meaningless, just a meme, a jokeâand there was no reply. hours passed. then a full day.
when he finally responded, it was short. distant.
you asked if he wanted to hang out that weekend. he said he was busy.
that was the moment something in you cracked.
you didnât say anything. you didnât confront him. but your chest felt tight in a way it hadnât before. something was slipping, and you were too scared to grab for it.
the next time you saw geonyeob was at a noraebang with other friends. even though karaoke wasnât really his thing. but he smiled when he saw you. like nothing was wrong. like he hadnât been ignoring you for days.
he hugged you like normal. talked to you like normal. introduced you to a girl youâd never seen before, casually, offhandedly, like it didnât mean anything.
but her hand lingered on his back a little too long.
and you felt your throat close.
when he turned back to you, you smiled. or tried to.
later that night, you found him alone outside of the room, buying more drinks, ordering more food.
you didnât ask about the girl. you asked him, âwhat are we?â
his answer came slow, careful.
âi donât know,â he said.
you stared at him, heart in your mouth.
he looked at you then, really looked. âitâs not that i donât care.â
âthen what is it?â you asked.
he ran a hand through his hair. âi just donât know if i can give you what you want.â
you felt the words like a slap. âwhat do you think i want?â
his jaw clenched. âsomething real.â
you waited, but that was all he gave you.
so you nodded. took a shaky breath. and walked back inside.
he didnât follow.
after that, the silence came hard and fast. he stopped replying. you stopped reaching out. friends asked what happened. you said nothing.
because what were you supposed to say?
âwe werenât dating. but it still feels like a breakup.â
it didnât make sense. but it still hurt.
not the sharp, clean kind of pain. just a dull, constant ache that followed you around, sat beside you in classrooms, curled up in bed with you at night.
you didnât cry.
you just... tensed.
tense when his name popped up on your screen. tense when a song reminded you of the way his fingers had felt when he touched you. tense when someone mentioned him in passing, like he wasnât still echoing through every corner of you.
because you were trying to be fine.
you told yourself you would be. that you didnât need him. that you werenât broken.
and it was true. you werenât broken.
just tired.
tired of waiting for something that never arrived. tired of being enough to hold but never enough to choose.
weeks passed. then months.
one night, geonyeobâs name lit up your phone again.
geonyeob: hey. heard you got accepted into your dream school. congrats.
you stared at it. fingers hovering over the keyboard.
your heart didnât leap.
it just curled in on itself.
because even now, after everything, he could still talk to you like it was normal. like the hole in your chest was something you imagined. like he hadnât kissed you like he meant it, only to walk away without ever looking back.
you didnât reply.
not because you hated him.
but because you were done letting him pretend this never meant anything.
and you knewâfinally, honestlyâyou would be fine without him.
but god, it still didnât make sense.
because you werenât just friends.
you were something. something real. even if it was only real to you.

Sticky Situation
stuck between bad andâŠ.evil
pairing: han su-gang x fem!reader x lee moon-gi. synopsis: after a crazy night out end up realizing who the two guys you spend the night with actually were, leading to a way with no escaping.
contents: language, sexual tension, small degradation, cheating implied (from moon-giâs side), slight aggression, threesome implied. all characters in this story are 18+
writerâs note: this my first time writing something like this so it might be a bit bad and corny lol, also iâm soon starting to write squid game character fics so if you have any requests please send them!
it was complicated to say the least, you didnât know how or when you ended up stuck in the middle of a horrific situation between the two most feared boys at your school.
han su-gang and lee moon-gi, two of the names that when you hear, you better expect the worse associated with them.
and now, you had slept with the two of them without even knowing if they remembered you.
but the realization hit you hard during class, after that crazy night you had in hongdae, with two unknown faces that came clear once they entered the classroom.
âno, no, no..â you said under your breath, trying to sink down on your seat as they both walk to the back of the classroom, what was worse?, moon-giâs âgirlfriendâ following behind him as he gave you a playfully smirk, or seeing a tall figure walk next to you from the corner of your eye as you tried to write down notes that made no sense.
what the actual fuck?.
you only took a deep breath, allowing yourself to try and get some air into your lungs that was cut off once again when you felt somebody sitting right behind you.
âso it was really you hm?,â said a low and gruff voice in a whisper close to your ear, his hand going up between your hair pulling your head back with slight force, âi knew i had seen that pretty face beforeâ
you swallowed, damn, your throat felt as dry as a desert. you tried to move your head away from his grip. âiâsu-gang i didnâtâi was drunk and so were you and moon-giââ you replied between stutters and shaky hands around the fidgeting pencil playing in your fingers.
âoh?, now youâre giving excuses for your whory behavior? hm?,â his hand pulled back from your hair, making you whine as the stinging sensation that it caused to your scalp, âbut i canât lie and say i didnât quite find it enjoyable, i might be liar but never when it come to my pleasure, so why donât you just face it?.â
his words made your body go numb, no, his psychotic low laugh made you feel that way when he pushed your head forward, slipping his fingers off your hair, leaning back on the seat staring at your back with smirk.
he had you perfectly wrapped around his finger.
after class, you were getting your usual lunch. trying to act normal around your friends even if your head was hurting from overthinking of all the possibilities of one of them having something that can prove you spend the night with them and ruin your perfect student image.
you were the class president, your parents big donators to the school and of course, you were a role model, or just called one by the teachers and principal.
everyone knew you werenât no role model in a school that was basically under the influence of han su-gang and his gang.
your leg bounced nervously, mouth slightly filled with un-chewed food that accumulated in your current round cheeks. you couldnât take your eyes away from the table far from you where su-gang an moon-gi were, acting so casual and being their usual jerks, one poor guy forcefully sitting next to them. he had to option, he was their monthly toy.
and thatâs when moon-gi turned his head in your direction, making straight eye contact with you while his arm was lazing around his girlfriendâs shoulders, yet the way he stared at you was incredibly shameless.
you blinked away, swallowing your food.
âsorry, i have to use the restroomâ you said standing up, pulling your chair back and quickly making your way towards the bathrooms.
moon-gi followed your quick strides as you rushed towards the hallway, his head turning to su-gang who just had also been observing you, but not just you, moon-gi too.
they gave each other a brief look, su-gang nodding his head to him once, saying everything he needed to know to stand up and follow you right away, no explanations were spoken on his departure from the table.
you entered the girls restrooms, quickly pulling your sleeves up and opening the faucet handle, cupping your hands together and letting the water fill them before you slightly bend down over the sink, letting the cold water wash over your face.
you heard the door open, but you thought it was just another girl. you were completely wrong.
ârunning away from a staring contest?, so lame,â he chuckled, closing the handle as he stood behind you.
you froze in place, slowly coming up straight and opening your eyes, meeting his face through the reflection of the mirror.
it felt like in those horror movies in which the protagonist is being chased by the killer and is about to get her throat sliced up in an empty bathroom, just that in this own scenario, you only felt pure adrenaline.
âcome on, you look at me like iâm about to drown you or slam your head against the sinkâ he puffed, getting closer to you until his own chest is fully pressed against your back, and his hand is resting at the edge of the counter, almost touching yours.
you breathe in hard, maintaining the air trapped in your lungs and your hands moving away from his own. âcoming from you, i wouldnât remove it away from my optionsâ you said quietly, narrowing your eyes at him through the reflection.
one of his hands went up, his fingers held a vape in between them, taking a drag and blowing the flavored smoke blow in your hair and face, eyes filled with no good intentions, and what was worse he was teasing you by staying quiet.
âtch, tch, already having fun without me?,â said a second male voice entering the place, a click behind him when his fingers twisted the lock of the door.
moon-gi turned his head from su-gang to you, adoring your now paranoid face, he definitely could hear your heavy heartbeat, and the way your breath came out ragged.
âwhat is it that you two want from me now?, if we act like it didnât happenââ your voice cut off with a heavy sigh when you felt moon-giâs hand go up to you waist, his grip mercilessly gripping through the layers of your uniform.
one thing was for sure though, you didnât feel the need to pull away, maybe that was the main reason you ended up stuck in between the two of them.
âlike it didnât happen?, baby, you got mine and his marks all over that hot body of yours,â said su-gang cockily, like it was the most precious compliment he could tell a woman. âand i definitely cannot act like these are not here eitherâ
your eyes widen at the sight of the purple and red marks all over his lower neck and close to his collarbones when he pulled down from the collar of his shirt.
âa naughty girl trying to act like a good girl?,â moon-gi added with with mischief filling his words, letting go of you allowing you to breathe in peace for a second.
your eyes still were on su-gangâs neck even if he had fixed his collar already, you just couldnât shake away the new memory from the previous night.
âi still canât believe you want to act so innocent even after last night, like you can just have sex with me and then expect nothing the next day,â su-gang started to approach you, carefully taking in your now more relaxed expression.
âit was a mistake, i was drunk and i wasnât thinking about what i was doing, and either way, it was a random party, how was i supposed to know thaââ
âblah, blah, blah, just shut up, itâs useless, your words are useless, and you sound so irritating, just accept it.â said moon-gi behind you, once again pulling you back towards him.
you couldnât lie, it was useless, they werenât going to listen to your now excuses.
it was also useless when all you can remember combined equaled to the best sexual experience you probably had. and itâs not like you had many, but out of all of them, this one was definitely the best.
in no time you just could only accept your own downfall, your pride crumbling at your feet when you turned around and kissed moon-gi, no second thoughts.
maybe it was a risky move, adding more fuel to the fire when it was already burning hot.
su-gang just stood behind the two, tongue running over the inside of his lower lip. his eyes darkening at the sight, âwas that so hard?â
you only broke the kiss and tuned back to him, staring at him deeply, quietly, only allowing your breath to be heard.
without wasting a second, his lips were deliciously devouring yours without hesitation. moon-gi behind you wasnât going to be left out either, he was the one nibbling at your neck while running his hands up your hips.
it was like some sort of twisted wet dream, one you didnât wish for initially but now couldnât deny.
you came back to the table with your friends, hair slightly messy even if you tried to fix it before getting out; but how could it look decent when the curls you had in the morning were suddenly gone magically.
the two boys also looked slightly out of place, moon-giâs tie completely loose and su-gang?, he was the most suspicious looking one.
âdamn, did you two make out in the bathroom of something?â said one of the guys in the group, who instantly received a smack at the back of his neck from su-gang and a glare from moon-gi.
i mean, that wasnât far from the truth.
Canon right.. Get it cause he was live for suho coma thing bumseok cheated and si-eun crash out..
jason's upset.
he knows it's petty. yet, that does nothing to abate the furrow of his brows and the pout on his lips.
your mii is refusing to date his mii. the stubby big-headed character he poured way too much effort into making it look like you using the face paint and tinkering with the facial placementâ though it is but a pittance compared to the real deal. not to mention the fact that he had to make you based off memory since he had been too shy to confess that he made both of you as miis on his island and wanted a reference.
the only two residents on his island, in fact.
and he's still getting rejected.
if he was lucky you'd let him talk to you whilst sitting together on the fountain. only for his mii to vaguely ask to hang out and make things awkward.
he had even made place holder miis, before unceremoniously removing them, until he got the island expansions! the restaurant. photo booth. pawn shop. hell, even the ferris wheel! yet, no juice could be made from the fruit of his labor.
your mii had been adamant in constantly rejecting his advances, even having the gall to fall in love with one of the placeholder miis.
and after every rejection, his own mii kept falling back in love after a trip to europe to subside his despair. after the first few times the love bubble inevitably popped up, jason had told his mii-self that it was too soon to ask your mii out only for that equally big-headed bunch of pixels refuse his advice and ask you out anyway. rinse and repeat.
perhaps it was a cruel joke on him for even trying. was it because your mii wasn't accurate enough? jason swears to himself that he'll keep a small photo of you in his wallet from this day forth.
perhaps it was poetic. that, no matter what happens to him, he'll always come to love you.
that thought of segye taking seoriâs surname⊠mm i think absolutely!
