Can we stop for a minute and think about the fact that Notre-Dame was there when french people took the Bastille? She survived revolutions, wars, bombs after D-Day and saw France both imprisonment and liberation in June 1940 and August 1944?

She (I refuse to refer to her as a “it”) was pure history, events, art (let’s just think about the opera!) and now is falling under the fire. One of the most ancient and predictable accidents since human kind appeared on earth.

History is dying in front of us right now and pictures are sincerely heartbreaking. We must protect our past, we’re built on it.
