A small laugh escaped her lips and wrapped an arm around Daniel in a small hug. âSorry about that, girly I failed at that one. âShe likes apple flavored tea at the end of the day. Sometimes sheâll forget to make it on her stressful days, but Iâm sure if you make some for her, her mood will be more calm,â she chuckled and shook her head. After Nuka had proposed sheâd noticed a distance between herself and Regina now a days, but that shouldnât affect her relationship with Daniela. Abigail beamed at the questioned.Â
âDo I ever say no to dessert? My treat okay? Make sure itâs okay with your mom first,âÂ
âI know the cupboard where Regina keeps a lot of apple flavoured tea...apple and cinnamon, spiced apple...itâs all in there. So Iâll remember that next time. Thanks for the tip!â Daniela laughed and returned the side-hug, wrapping an arm around Abigail.Â
âAh, great, thanks! Where shall we go?â The brunette had rarely eaten dessert before reuniting with her mother and making new friends. Despite being well into her teenage years, she always reacted as excitedly as a ten-year-old when sugary foods were mentioned. âOh, donât worry. I can just text her. Sheâll be fine with it,â she said, pulling out the mobile phone her mother had bought her.

The queen looked her over up and down, observing her reaction towards her and she saw how nervous she made her. Now that she was apart from Regina she could no longer watch over her children and in reality she did just want to talk to the girl, rather it was manipulation or not she felt bad that she never explained anything about the man she had lost.Â
The queen made herself comfortable on a bench near by and patted the empty seat next to her giving Daniela a small smile. âOf my child, why on earth would I not be honest about the man who fathered you? I knew him too remember? I was apart of your mother, I am just as much your mother as she is, all I want is to spend time with my daughter,â she pleaded with a dramatic sigh, as she looked up at the sky as if lost in thought.Â
âI donât know. This is all so confusing, but I know youâre not a good person. Youâre all the parts of my mother that she wants to be rid of, all the worst parts.â Daniela was bluntly honest, afraid to view this extension of Regina as her mother.Â
After contemplating for a few seconds, Daniela moved to sit beside the Queen, leaving as much space between them as was physically possible on the bench. If Regina saw her now, she would be furious, but the girl couldnât completely deny her curiosity.Â
âI donât want to talk about whether you are my mother or not. Please can you just tell me about my father?â

âGinette wishes to target anybody who shows kindness or hope.â Carmilla shakes her head, rebuffing the mere idea. âYouâre not easy, she can just see on some level, that you are ever so faithful to the idea of a happy ever after.â There wasnât anything wrong with that either! Sometimes Carm, would stay awake for hours and hours, wishing, praying to every deity or god sheâs ever heard about; that the two of them would end up okay. That they would end up safe, happy, with a family to boot. It never worked and as much as Carmillaâs hope diminished with the growing misfortune of their situation, she wanted Daniâs generosity, kindness, and dreams to never fade away. âShe couldnât handle the fact that you try to help Rosie, somebody as equally kind.â
Besides, while her hopes died, her resolution that she would make Danielleâs life, a fantastic story only grew.
Biting her lip, she brings up one of the towel lets, gently patting it over her sisterâs face, and hair before dropping it in the otherâs hands. âKeep drying yourself.â She murmurs instead, doesnât dare tell her that she would rather be locked away than have to face another set of parents look at her without an ounce of interest. âYou wonât get in trouble promise.â Carmilla smiles this time, hands beckoning for the other to take off her wet clothes in favour of Carmillaâs âgood family dayâ dress.Â
It wasnât like she needed to wear it, the faded orange looked horrendous on her growing body, another point that was probably taken away from Carmilla on those days.Â
âBesides, by the time we get back I think the Baker, will be around to talk to Misses Tilder.â Why the old woman thought she had any chance with the spoken for male, was beyond the brunette but whatever let the twins slip in and out was good enough. âAre you warming up? Put this jacket on and turn around so I can braid your hair please.â
âYeah, well if we donât have hope, then what do we have?â Daniela dropped her head, eyes fixed on the puddle of water forming on the ground from her dripping clothes and wet hair. She willed herself not to cry. Normally that was an easy task. They had grown up in the orphanage, it was all they had ever known, but some days when life was especially tough it brought a stinging sensation to her eyes and her throat constricted. She refused to allow any tears to fall today. âSometimes I think thereâs no point anymore. A happily ever after seems further away from where we are now with each passing day. I try to be a good person anyway...â
Daniela closed her eyes as her sister patted the towel over her face and grasped it once Carmilla placed it in her hands. âOkay. If you promise.âÂ
She began hurriedly drying herself. Daniela knew Carmilla couldnât know for sure that they wouldnât run into any trouble by sneaking out, but simply the affirmation from her sister gave her confidence, as it always did. Together they were stronger than apart, which was one of the many reasons Daniela suspected some of the other kids had problems with them.
Slipping the dress over her head, Daniela adjusted it. As she was a little shorter and slighter than her twin, it didnât look overly ridiculous, but she wasnât sure how they were expected to continue wearing the same clothes as they grew taller. She supposed eventually they would be given Ginetteâs hand-me-downs. Daniela cringed at the thought.
âYou think? I guess we donât have anything to worry about then.â A laugh fell from the girlâs lips at her twinâs comments. There was rarely laughter within the orphanageâs walls, but whenever Daniela did laugh it was usually her sisterâs doing. If it wasnât for Carmilla she wasnât sure how she would ever have kept her spirits high.
âI feel much better now...thanks.â Daniela smiled gratefully at her sister and pulled the jacket on. âDo you think anyone will get adopted tomorrow?â She asked as she turned to allow her sister to braid her hair, glad she didnât have to meet Carmillaâs eyes to hear the answer.Â

Cont from XÂ
A raised eyebrow and smirk came from the queen as she saw she perked the girlâs interest. She was glad she caught Daniela alone, as cruel as the game she was playing, it was true. Every time she looked at the other brunette all she saw was Daniel. Perhaps thatâs why their relationship was always so rocky when she was still attached to Regina. But in her own twisted way of course she loved the girl and couldnât help but feed her curiosity as well.  âMhhmmâŚ.â was all she said in her cooing tone, followed by a nod as she moved forward to her. âI see his strengthâŚâŚhis eyes, your hair is much more lighter brown than mineâŚ..and those featuresâŚ.â pausing as she gently took Danielaâs chin and stroked her jawline with her pointer finger. âYou have his chin,â she mused. The simply rolled her eyes and waved her hand dismissing the comment on Regina.Â
âRelax dearâŚ.â she chuckled as she saw her daughterâs frantic eyes and let go of Danielaâs chin. âYouâre free to go as you please. Unless of course you want to know of your father. I could tell you, after all you deserve to know donât you?âÂ
@daughterofanevilqueen
Daniela felt her breath hitch in her throat as the Queen took hold of her chin. She was gentle, caring even, yet it felt wrong. This wasnât her mother. The Evil Queen had never been her mother. Regina was all she needed. It had taken her months to build trust and develop a somewhat healthy relationship with the woman who had given birth to her, and now there stood another version of that person. Danielaâs life felt ridiculously confusing in that moment and she wasnât sure how she could cope much longer. It had been easier living at the orphanage back in the Enchanted Forest, feeling lonely and unwanted, but also insignificant -- which a part of her preferred. Being the daughter of the Evil Queen held expectations she could not and did not want to meet.
âHow do I know youâre not just trying to manipulate me by telling me all these things about my father?â Daniela asked, breathing more steadily now the Queen no longer touched her chin. âI want to know, but only the truth...â

Carmilla hates the orphanage with a burning passion that she knows turns to quiet rage with everyday that theyâre stuck in here. While those caring for them would rather not see their faces roam the halls or take up dingy beds, they would never let them leave freely. It felt impossible and she hated that Dani and her were locked away here.Â
The moment her sister makes an entrance, Carmilla stops scrubbing the grit that has grown on the ceiling edges again. Turns to glare fiercely at the two girls in their shared bedroom, Carmilla indicates for them to get out before she makes them. Sheâs not truly cruel but when it came to her twin sister, she would not let any hands or words touch her.
âAgain?â She scowls, fingers reaching up to comb away sopping wet hair, using her own it ribbon to tie it away from a pale face. âWhat is her problem with you?â Well, actually, Carmilla could see what it was. While they were different from each other in both personality and looks, Carmilla and Daniella, had each other, something Ginette would never have the privilege of. That did not excuse anything though! Danielle was kind, beautiful, intelligent, and so many more things, how could she sit back and continue to watch such treatment? It was okay when it was her (though that was a further apart, she admits), but Dani?! No. Not anymore, she pleads silently hoping that for just once, somebody would listen and care for the twins.
âLetâs get you dried up and then weâll talk.â Pausing to takes the otherâs hands, leading her towards their minuscule personal items, Carmilla smiles softly. âHow about we skip cleaning? We both know it wonât help and weâll go to the clearing andâŚand weâll sort us out, okay?âÂ
Daniela shot a tight, but thankful smile in her sisterâs direction as the two girls fled the room. Sometimes she wondered how Carmilla did it. The other kids listened to her; the younger ones, especially. None of them listened to Daniela -- well, perhaps all apart from Rosie, who occasionally followed her around like a little shadow. Unfortunately, having a six-year-old on her side didnât score her that many points with the likes of Ginette.Â
âYes, again.â Daniela sighed, her gaze lingering on the ground. Because they had no contact with nor knowledge of whom their birth mother was, Daniela didnât know which twin was minutes older than the other. However, she was certain she could have a fairly accurate guess. Sometimes she felt years younger than her twin, whom always appeared so in control and helped her out of every bad situation she found herself in.
âSheâs just a bully, Carmilla, and Iâm clearly an easy target. She was terrorising Rosie and because I asked her to stop, this happened.â She began to shiver as the cold caught up to her and wrapped her arms tightly around her torso. Following her twin over to their belongings, she sat down on the small bed. âSkip cleaning?â Hasel eyes widened at her sisterâs suggestion. âWhat if we get found out? Tomorrow there are families visiting. What if they lock us up for the day so we have no chance of being adopted and...and -- never mind.â With the twins already far past the cute kid stage, Daniela knew they had little to no chance of ever being adopted. It was wishful thinking which she sometimes allowed herself, just as she occasionally daydreamed that one day their mother would come back for them. That sure wasnât happening either. The older she grew, the more reality kicked in. Reality sucked. Â
âOkay. Okay, weâll skip cleaning and sneak out. I just donât want to get into too much trouble...âÂ

The small child lifted her gaze, eyes squinted in annoyance. Her anxiety levels were high for a girl of her age and since arriving in Storybrooke she had only been apart from her mother when she was sleeping. Even then she could run into the next room if nightmares plagued her dreams. At school there was no safety net if she felt afraid.Â

âYou have so much of your father in you,â (from season 6 EQ)
âI do?â Mention of her father caught Danielaâs attention. Regina rarely spoke of him and Daniela never liked to push. âIâm not supposed to be talking to you,â she added, hazel eyes scanning for an exit. No matter her curiosities or hesitation, this woman was more the Evil Queen than Regina had ever been back in the Enchanted Forest, and she couldnât stay.Â
âMy mother told you to stay away from me and Henry.â
⯠----- ⯠----- âŻ
âYou missed a spot right there.â âWhat? No I didnât.â -STOMP- âYes. You did.â âHey! Thatâs no fair.â -SPLASH- âWhat did you do that for, you little brat?!â âIâm sorry, it -- it was an accident!â
Daniela tried to ignore the argument, but seeing the big kids taking their troubles out on the little kids bothered her. This was a common occurrence. Living in a cramped orphanage in a remote part of the Enchanted Forest didnât provide friendly company. It was rare for families to come by and adopt. On the off chance they did, they were horrified by the torn, hand-me-down clothes and dirty appearances of the children who had never been well looked after. Most of the families nearby were too poor to have room for another mouth to feed, and those who had the money opted to adopt from some of the more prestigious âHomes for Young Girls and Boysâ. Parents unable to raise their children paid large sums of money for them to be looked after there and eventually adopted. The less fortunate children were simply dumped on the doorstep of any old orphanage.Â
âOkay stop!âÂ
The brunette rarely intervened, preferring to draw as little attention to herself as possible, but she wouldnât sit by while Rosie, the youngest kid in the orphanage, was bullied by a girl more than triple her size.Â
âShe said it was an accident. Itâs just a bit of water and you purposely scuffed your shoe where sheâd mopped. Canât you just leave her alone?âÂ
The orphanage was becoming overcrowded and supposedly a family was visiting the following day. Therefore all the girls had been woken up before the sun had risen and were expected to spend the entire day cleaning. Rosie, Ginette ( a seventeen-year-old bully who had nothing better to do than terrorise five-year-olds) and herself had been ordered to mop the hallway first.Â
âJust a bit of water huh?â Ginette approached her, a smirk twisting her features as she towered above Daniela, bucket in hand. -WOOoooshHH- An entire bucket of dirty water poured over her head.
âIâm outta here.â Daniela watched Ginette leave, shivering as she stood, unable to form words.Â
âSorry Dani...â
Shaking her head, the brunette kept it together for the child. âIâm fine, Rosie. Itâs not your fault.â She left the little girl in the hallway and hurried towards the room she shared with her twin sister and four other girls. Unfortunately, two of them were inside, sniggering at her appearance as they changed the sheets of their beds, taking their time so as not to have to move on to more vigorous work.
Making a beeline for her sister, Daniela pulled her aside. âGinette, again. I canât take this anymore, Carmilla. I hate it here.â Her sister was lucky. Being more confident and fairly popular amongst the other girls, she wasnât targeted as often. Daniela, much quieter and more reserved than her sister, was an easy target. After fifteen years of the same treatment, she was tired of ignoring it as though it was normal. Nothing about their life was normal.
@orchardsxsong
âDonât be nerves little one. Education is important and itâs time for you to start school,â (my Regina is over at itspoeopleofstorybrooke Iâm too lazy to switch accounts and I miss our little Daniela verse!)
The young girl could not be further from happy and made this clear as day, her small hands clenching into fists. âSchool is stinky! No, no and no.â She was rarely defiant and normally calm tempered for a five-year-old girl. Today was not a normal day and the prospect of going to school was not sitting well with Daniela.

A soft smile pulled at Danielaâs lips. âThatâs okay. Weâve both been busy. I missed you, though. Especially the times after Regina had stressful days at work,â she laughed. âI think you forgot to warn me that my mom isnât so fun on those days.âÂ
The teen was overjoyed to finally be spending more    time with the woman she considered to be her aunt.Â

//Just a small OOC note, bc Itâs been exactly 5 years since I created Daniela. This muse is my baby, and although Iâve been on long hiatuses, Iâve always returned. Creating an OC related to one of the most popular characters is challenging af. On top of understandable reservations some people have; being a perfectionist and wanting everything about my OC to be believable and true to the canon while creating something new isnât easy. That said, I have the most amazing memories writing with and getting to know so many talented people and look forward to seeing what reviving this blog brings.
