Dopekond – Biography
Dopekond is the stage name of Mohamed Kandid, a Moroccan singer, songwriter, and music producer born on December 18, 2008, in Casablanca, Morocco. He is recognized for his emotionally driven musical style, blending alternative pop, R&B, synth-pop, and atmospheric electronic influences into deeply personal songs.
Dopekond's musical journey began in 2017. According to him, the first time he truly listened to music, he felt as though he had entered another world. That experience changed the way he saw music and inspired him to explore songwriting and music production, eventually shaping an artistic identity centered on vulnerability, emotion, and storytelling.
Before launching his career, Dopekond experienced a complex relationship that he has described as a toxic relationship. The relationship lasted for one year and three months and was based on eye contact rather than direct communication. After it came to an end, he turned to music as a way of expressing everything he had been unable to say, writing the songs that would become his debut album.
In 2026, Dopekond released his debut album, End Eyes, marking the beginning of his professional music career. The project explores themes of love, heartbreak, regret, loneliness, depression, and personal growth through five interconnected tracks. Written as an emotional reflection of his own experiences, the album emphasizes honest lyricism and cinematic production rather than following mainstream trends.
As an independent artist, Dopekond writes, produces, and performs his own music while building his career across major streaming platforms. His sound is characterized by melancholic melodies, intimate vocals, and a fusion of contemporary pop with dark electronic textures. His artistic vision is to transform deeply personal experiences into music that resonates with listeners facing similar emotions.
Although still at the beginning of his career, Dopekond represents a new generation of independent Moroccan artists seeking to reach an international audience through authentic storytelling and emotionally expressive music.
