Pretty, Pretty Gumdrops variant cover

Hi everybody! I've got an exciting opportunity to illustrate a variant cover for an ambitious indie comics team, currently running their Kickstarter campaign. Please have a look!

It is about a quirky scifi universe, with preview pages available to get a first look. I had a lot of fun working on the variant cover which I'm allowed to show before the reveal with further plans on their Kickstarter page!

A concept for a spin off of my Forlorn Knights story and worldbuilding. For this I used the great AI image tool of NovelAI.

I recommend it especially if you're a professional.

This upload is 1.5 hours of refining detail in Photoshop, the AI ref was generated from a rough sketch.

A rough concept art for one of the environments in Forlorn Knights. It is as well a pastiche to the great designs (one of my many favourite designers so far regarding character and environment design) of the Dark Souls IP, and in general the FromSoftware illustrators.

Next year is going to be fun. My personal project, hopefully, will see it's first volume (still working to do chapter releases as soon as possible), and a second comic project (inks and B/W by me), as well as colourations for a third comic - let's show what indie comics can do.

My OC (story Forlorn Knights - Darksome Arising). The codex of the forlorn knights is to die gloriously in combat, but to not kill an unarmed individual. Wan, though, figures out more important goals: to protect what is dearest to him. Painted from scratch (to train my skills).

My first volume is currently in production. The pages will be black and white/pencils with greyscale shading, or halftones, and a mixed media approach with a few tweaks depending on the visual storytelling. (A few pages might be coloured)

The first volume is going to have roughly 140+ pages (probably about 150), the estimate varies a tiny bit because of planning to do chapter cover pages too.

More drawings incoming, the characters belong to my personal project Forlorn Knights. It's incredible fun to do worldbuilding and see the world fill with characters, a diverse range of people. I look forward to reaching specific parts of the story and to be able to release the first volume of my graphic novel soon. The story is very large, which is why there will ideally be plenty of graphic novels. I'm doing my best.
