the people defending homestuck are annoying as shit honestly? if we're talking about how heavy winded and wordy the epilogues are, literally all of homestuck is like that. that's not a valid critique. but the obsessive forced dichotomy of "grisly and horrible" and "so sweet that shits actually fucked" is stupid because we all know that even when a story "ends", life in that story goes on. it can try to be a clever critique of fans but it's just tone-deaf bullshit, like the last half of homestuck. this isn't even critiquing the treatment of roxy's transness in canon (the way it was discussed may be "in character" but it was in no way necessary to treat it like that) or the misogynistic treatment of characters. it's shit and it literally says, arbitrarily, that it's non-canon. so yeah. epilogues can FUCK right off
