...Oh, my God. Like that! Would you look at that? It’s just like what I saw on my way to work. People aren’t even waiting for Halloween to dress up they’re just goin’ for it now.
“Get you to loosen up a little bit,” Allison joked with a grin, patting his chest before her hand traveled down to hang onto his. With that, she gently tugged him along in the direction of the beer tent, which wasn’t nearly as crowded as she expected it to be. But the music was good, and alcohol was great, and she was in the company of her beau, so there wasn’t much she could complain about. “I hope they have Corona…” she mumbled in David’s direction, stepping up to the bar set up. Her gaze then scanned the menu for what they had to offer – meanwhile, the bartender approached ready to fulfill their order.
David kept his eyes down as they moved through the crowd; an anxiety in his chest as his eyes traveled across the ground. Crowds were never his thing. He went to great lengths just to avoid them. But as Allison seemed to enjoy them, he found himself in them more often than not. He’d mind it had Allison strayed from his side --- as with her by it, the chaos was much easier to endure. Now a small distance away from the hoard, he relaxed his shoulders slightly and looked toward the bartender as she approached them. “Hi,” he started with an awkward smile, “Can I get two Coronas, please? And you wouldn’t happen to have just, like, a celery stick or a simple green bean, would you?”
He narrowed his gaze slightly as he watched the woman lift her brows in amusement and softly shake her head. “No?” He asked, nodding, “Alright.” Looking over to his girlfriend and the menu she was holding, the awkward brunette perked his brows. “Did you... want anything else?”
Oh, don’t be like that – she’s not that bad. Plus, free food…♫
...Okay. Okay, alright, you wore me down... but if she starts up again with how web design is a pointless career path, so help me, Alli... so help me, I will walk directly out of the room.
Fingers lazily running through the hair of the dog beside her, Allison’s attention slipped from the TV as she watched her boyfriend make his way to the door, an amused yet small smile gracing her features. “You’re not planning on fidgeting around with work stuff all night, right…?” the brunette inquired after the delivery boy had left, brows perking up, yet she made no further effort to emerge from the couch cushions she’d nested herself in.
“...What? Oh, no! No, I was just planning for this upcoming week,” David replied after a short pause, moving over and setting the box of Chinese food on the coffee table in front of her. “Gotta get my ducks all in a row, y’know,” he added, sending Allison a smirk --- before reaching into the box for the napkins and setting them aside. He stood straight and neatly rolled his sleeves up. “I’ll go get the plates.” He voiced, turning and starting towards the kitchen.
In a dramatic fashion, Allison let her head fall back a bit as she whined, “No–ho–hooo… what have I dooone…” bringing her head back up, she gave her boyfriend a puppy-like pout, though deep down she knew she couldn’t deny him of those damn plates. Closing one of her eyes, she squinted at him. “…only if we can also get that set of red ones, too. For, you know, when my mom comes over.”
In response to Allison’s counter, David narrowed his gaze and looked off to the side in thought. “I’ll think about it,” he voiced, glancing back to his girlfriend with a serious expression --- though soon thereafter came a smirk to play against his squinted eyes. He exhaled a small laugh before relaxing his features and leaning off the counter. “So I think there’s a few more boxes, but d’you wanna take that break now? Check out our ice cream situation?” He asked, gesturing towards the front door.

Darry leaned against the driver’s side door of his car, head tilted back as he pressed the filter of his cigarette to his lips. A deep inhale, he sighed out the smoke, hazy fog curling around his face. The lanky guy had gotten off shift fifteen minutes ago, though with a piece of shit car that had difficulty starting up, he couldn’t go home. Hearing footsteps shuffle past his car, Darry flicked his cigarette onto the ground and stomped on it, looking over to the person as he called, “Hey, I hate to bother you, but do you have jumper cables? I kind of need some help.”
On his way out of the mall with a few shopping bags at hand, David froze when he heard the voice. A small look of panic took hold of his features as his gaze shifted over to spot the male. “Oh, uh...” He finally began, glancing to the car the other male was leaned against. “Yeah, I might. I just need to...” He gestured to the bags in his hands as he glanced back to the stranger. “Uh... just give me a sec.” Nodding, the tall brunette sent a faint smile his opposite’s way before looking towards his car --- which was a few parking spots away, and proceeded towards it.

Shining carnival lights and crowds of people circled around the two, and Allison was just ecstatic that she’d actually gotten David out of the house and to the festival – though she knew he wasn’t one for spending time around such large masses of people. It was a big deal to her, as she loved making memories, and with this being their first year in L.A. she wanted to make the most of the holiday. “You wanna head over to the beer tent?” The brunette inquired, closely to his ear so he could hear her.
David’s lip quivered as his eyes stayed fixed on the crowd. Clearly, he couldn’t concentrate on much anything --- but he was trying to relax about it. Unorganized chaos moved around him like a swarm of bees and he was completely tense because of it. Alli’s voice came in like a bell, and David quickly tuned in. He glanced down to her before looking forward again, and silently replied with bugged eyes and a nod.

“Well, I’m in love with her,” David started with confidence. “Let me elaborate further, I’m completely and utterly in love with her, and I want her to bare my wimpy, unborn offspring. Why? Because I’ve never met a woman that I can not only speak to without unwanted intervals but can appear as sexy in her eyes and so forth desirable. Will she admit to it? Probably not, but that’s not the point. She’s beautiful, she’s sexy, she likes the outdoors. Not to sound cheesy, but she completes me. She is my undamaged, perfectly centered puzzle piece.”
Good… because my mom’s coming down to visit. She wants to take us out to lunch.
...You know what? I just thought about it, and I think I have an appointment to get my appendix removed that day.
…does this mean you’re free this Friday?
Yes.
Why, why are you so mean to me?
No, no. Don’t make face, I was just kidding.
Hey, uh… you’re not working on Friday, are you?
N---This Friday, or next Friday? ...Or the Friday after that? Is it in this particular month, or is it in another? Say, August 7th for example? I'm free August 7th.

Allison was lounging on the couch, sweatpants on, hair tied up messily, and had an overall lazy posture about her. While she and David had spent a fair amount of Valentine’s Days out and about, showing the world their spark — this year, she’d convinced him to have a quiet night in. Hearing the doorbell ring, the brunette let her head fall back. “David!” She called, almost letting out a laugh at her own lack of will to get up and answer the door herself. “Chinese noms are here, I’m holding the dog back.” She concluded, though even the husky beside her wasn’t interested in barking at the door like he usually would. Regardless, she loosely kept her hand on his collar just in case.
“I got it,” David voiced shortly after, moving out from the back room in which he’d been sorting out his schedule for his newly obtained desk job at Apple as an IT consultant, and looking over to spot her comfortably spread across the couch. A wide grin graced his features as he walked past, laughing lightly as he shook his head, taking the money pinned on the wall for the food as he looked to the entry. Opening the door, the lanky brunette greeted the deliverer with a gentle nod and a small smile -- his attention focused down on the food as he handed the cash over and took the large cardboard box before closing the door.

"Nice to meet you, man," Axel commented, his hands awkwardly stuffing into the pockets of his jeans. He could feel the claustrophobic atmosphere hit him like a ton of bricks, and he just knew he wasn’t going to be able to handle it. Turning back when he felt the tap to his shoulder, Axel’s eyebrows shot up. "Oh…uh, yeah. That crowd is scary," he answered, shrugging. "I know a couple places that won’t be like…that," he added—an soft awkward smile.
David lifted his brows at his opposite’s answer -- a faint smile creeping onto his features at the discovery that Axel was to remain at the store; he was nervous he’d have to continue on alone. “Would you mind if I tagged along?” He asked with slight apprehension, studying his opposite with a kind smile.
