Today the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified. In memory of those women who fought for the right to vote I am posting a picture taken in St Louis prior to 1910 with my grandmother sitting at the table facing the camera with a pen in her hand. In late July I finished this side table for a couple in Maryland. It is made of Prima Vera with Walnut accents. I used a Maloof oil and beeswax formula for a hand rubbed satin finish. My daughter-in-law wanted a bathtub caddy after her transplant surgery. She has to wait several months before using the bathtub. I used a reclaimed walnut table leaf and inserted a piece of maple. I cut grooves and used wipe-on-poly as a finish with a couple coats of wax.
