What Made You Decide To Take Your Course in College

Being the first person in my generation to attend college, I had the burden to succeed on my shoulders. College had been my dream since the second grade. I had a fantastic teacher who inspired me to be whatever I wanted to be and I decided to be like her. Fortunately, my parents recognized and nurtured my desire for higher education. It took a lot of hard studying in high school, not to mention missing fun activities to keep up my studies. I was determined to achieve my goal. It was just as difficult the next four years as I worked full time and went to college full time. It paid off. I graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Elementary Education.

Having the Internet

I’ve been using computers before there were PCs...Before Windows…before the internet. The computers I used were always for work so time on a computer was a necessity, not play. When the internet was introduced at work, it was always with dire warnings if it was used for non-work-related use. It wasn’t until I no longer had a job and no continuous availability to the internet that I realized how much I had become dependent on the information it provides. I spent hours a day while unemployed using the library’s computers while I dealt with different government agencies. I now have a computer – a laptop – and home service. As I am disabled and not working, the internet is my link to the outside world. If I need any questions answered, I search here first. I even use it to prepare my shopping lists, make appointments and keep in touch with family and friends. It was VERY handy during Christmas.

Stabilized Diet

Everybody likes to have a slim body; this can be achieved by taking necessary diet and doing some useful exercises daily. Tomatoes: tomatoes are mostly widely used vegetable by different cultures. They will be available throughout the year and they are inexpensive. Leafy Greens: Which will be having healthiest proteins and nutrients, and they are widely used for getting calcium. These are the rich source of minerals like Iron, Calcium, and Potassium. It contains vitamins B, K, C, and E. Apple: Apple that keeps body healthy and slim. "Eat one Apple daily that keeps away from the Doctor". Apple fruit contains good quantities of vitamin C and it is a powerful natural antioxidant. It helps body to develop resistance against infectious and harmful agents.

Rabbits

It is heart breaking to be alone but with pets around, we will never notice loneliness at all. There are many pets out there that we can have; actually we are free to get as many pet as we can as long as we take care of them.

If in this case you are thinking about having a pet rabbit, there are things that you need to consider to be successful. You should provide their needs like food and cages or hutches. The good news is that rabbits are not that hard to raise; they are not demanding for they only need few things.

Don’t forget to give your love and time. Pets need to feel they are valued. If you value them, they will love you unconditionally.

The Best Pet

We want company because it is heart breaking to be alone. We have families and friends but we can add pets to our circle. Pets are true and loyal. They can be our best friend and our admirer no matter what happens.

There are many pets that we can consider. There are pets like dogs, cats, snakes, turtles and rabbits that we can have. It is just a matter of identifying which pet suits us. If in this case we want to have a pet rabbit, we are free to have them.

We just remember few care tips; we should give them food and cages to begin with.  At the end of the day, what matters most are the love and the time we give for our pet. We should not worry because rabbits are not costly to raise.

Sunday Family Outing

Last Sunday, we had a family outing. We brought the kids to the zoo after hearing mass. The kids - Mikhail, Dianne and James are all animal lovers. In fact, we have two dogs, three cats and one pair of lovebirds in the house all because of the kids. Well, I have nothing against it actually, I am happy that they are growing up to be responsible and loving people. Anyway, while we were on our way to the zoo, Dianne saw rabbit cages with cute white and gray rabbits. James begged that we stopped for a while to see the rabbits. I told them that they could not adopt a rabbit in the house because they are still young. They agreed and said they just wanted to see the rabbits up close so we stopped the car. The kids really enjoyed that family outing. My husband and I are glad that we made the kids happy. We know that we are often busy so we try to make up when there is a chance.

I Love Adventure

My favorite kind of adventure is a road trip. Because my husband and I do not have any children, we have a lot of freedom to go where we want to, anytime we feel like it. When we decide to go on an adventure, I take great pleasure in planning our activities. I especially like to look for out-of-the-way historical landmarks, old hotels and delicious local food. I generally plan our adventures online, and draw up an itinerary for us. It is always important to remember however, that one of the best parts of a road trip is being spontaneous. We always deviate from the itinerary if we see something more interesting!

Cute and Adorable Niece

Last week, my sister invited me to sleepover at their house since her husband will be out of town. I did not have anything to do so here I am now at their house. I am totally having so much fun especially bonding with my cute and adorable niece Jasmine. She is 7 years old but she acts so matured, which is very amusing. They have a pet rabbit in the house and I got excited when I saw it that I wanted to cuddle it right there and then. However, Jasmine stopped me and told me that rabbits do not want to be held or cuddled. It was really cute of her to act so matured. Would you believe she is also taking charge of the cleaning of the rabbit cages in their house? Oh, I am really having fun spending time with my sister and my niece. Later, we will go shopping and I cannot wait for that.

My Desire To Live As A Dolphin

If I were given a chance to live underwater for a year, I would like to be a dolphin. Dolphins are beautiful water creatures. It is also highly knowledgeable. It has the ability to rescue the people who are stuck under water. Being a dolphin, I will be able to consume different kinds of fishes such as mullets, herrings, and cods etc., Dolphins usually live in a family structure. Each dolphin family will be headed by a female dolphin. Dolphins travel and hunt only as a large group. Dolphins have the ability to make a beautiful and long jump in the water.

Beautiful Marina Beach

My favorite beach destination is Marina. It is the world’s second largest beach. It is located in Chennai, India. I feel very relaxed when I go to that beach. I love to enjoy the sea view of the beach. I also go for horse riding in the beach. Several snack items will be sold in that beach. A big shopping space is also built in the beach. A beautiful swimming area is also built recently along the beach side. The beach will be very beautiful in the evening time. It is a wonderful experience to walk along the pavement of the beach.

St. Francis Day

The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is on October 4th, and it is one of my favorite days of the year. While Oscar Wilde called St. Francis the best liked and least emulated of all the saints, still, he inspires me and makes me take stock of what really matters in life. “Brother Sun, Sister Moon,” Franco Zeffirelli’s feature film length biography of the saint, does an adequate and accessible job dramatizing all that is important about his story, while the best book I know about him is actually St. Francis, by Nikos Kazantzakis. I read the book while I was in Italy, and felt I was literally in the company of the saint and his friends when I spent a day in his town. The film always inspires me and I love to see it sometime around the feast day. The best scene is when the pope kisses Francesco’s feet, having already explained that his own enthusiasm has become, “encrusted with the governance of the church.”

Church Seasons

In the Christian churches, holy days and seasons revolve around a cycle of feasts and fasts. In our present age, many people do not know that “Halloween” is a shortened form of the term, “All Hallows Eve,” signifying the evening festival for All Saints’ Day – similar, of course, to Christian celebrations of Christmas Eve. Nor are most people cognizant that All Saints is actually a season and is celebrated for an octave, or eight days. All this is an introduction to the fact that this season of All the Saints is my favorite season of the year, beginning with Halloween and lasting through November 8th. Here is a religious season that contemplates the very meaning of our lives and deaths, our souls and bodies. Here too is a season that acknowledges that we are surrounded by “a great cloud of witness” – the on-going presence of all the dead who rest in the heart of creation and yet ever have an impact upon us all. It is a beautiful season, and it coincides with the changing and falling of the leaves here in New England. It forms a backdrop and segway that is entirely fitting to the season of Thanksgiving, too.

The Big Apple

My first week in graduate school was a time to be cherished: it was filled with adventure and newness coupled with a fabulous sense of being at home born of choosing a place that was absolutely right for me. The school is in downtown Manhattan, New York City, and I had never spent much time in the Big Apple. Everything was on a large scale, and I was often seen walking down the street so focused on sky scrapers and building decorations that I could miss the mess on the sidewalk. Foods, museums, modes of transport, sights and sounds and smells were all new to me – and then there were the people! They were of every color, language, degree of cleanliness and sanity ever known to humanity. Nothing was boring, everything was endlessly fascinating, and the enclosures of the campus itself granted me a safe haven in an otherwise overwhelming environment.

Durability of rabbit hutches is an important feature that should be considered in making or purchasing a shelter for pet rabbits. Durable rabbit hutches can withstand the harsh elements. They can also withstand the thumping, running, gnawing and other activities of pet rabbits. They can prevent the infiltration of predators into the cage. A non-durable rabbit hutch may be injurious to pet rabbits.To ensure the durability of rabbit hutches, quality wood is used. Wood is also treated with wood stain to prevent decay and degradation. Creating Awareness About Organ Donation

One of the most important thing my community needs to be sensitized is organ donation. In western countries this awareness is already there. But in India and other Asian countries there is a lack of knowledge regarding organ donation. Moreover, religious and social customs make it hard to get the message of organ donation to the common man. I would like to help my community to overcome this hurdle and to instill in them the sanctity of this noble cause. There is an acute shortage of organs like eyes, liver and kidney that result in thousands of avoidable deaths. Starting a campaign for donation is my long term goal too.
