Little Monster reside in Shanghai, and as they are set to embark on a tour of South America later in July, the band are trekking up to Beijing to hold a one-off kick-off show with friends up in the north! Little Monster are F, guitarist of the long-gone and dearly missed Shanghai noise rock duo PAIRS, and Alex, drummer of Shanghai snotpunk Dirty Fingers. Their sound is an amalgam of the two short-fused garage burners with a background wall-of-noise. In late July the duo set off for a month+ long tour of South America. Lonely Leary are a post-rock trio from Beijing that incorporate fast drums, muddy baselines, and rough guitar noise to create a relatively violent post-rock sound. Parisian artist & funeral painter as he is naming himself, most known for his paste-ups of ghost ladies, has an elegant style rarely seen on the streets. His artworks are revisiting the 15th century extremely morbid and explicit concept of Vanitas. During our era of Selfies, it becomes so contemporary and important to remind us of the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death. Definitely in symbiosis with Paris romanticism, his art succeeds to seduce us with a primal idea of Beauty and then to trap our mind in a state of aesthetic contemplation.
