❝ ─ this is for the l i o n s living in the wiry broke down frames of my friends bodies. when the flood water comes, it ain't gonna be clear. it's gonna look like mud. but i will help you SWIM.❞
“Kinda cool, actually. I’d almost prefer that. Having an army of flies would be useful. There’s a lot in New York. Smother my enemies with them. Pretty cool.” Nat nods. Her eyes follow the girls hand, out to the window. “Easy. That’s a sidewalk. Not pictured is the subway or bikes or cars. People use those all the time. Not everyone is walking. Plus, they haven’t been exposed to Heelys in probably, what, ten years?”
“ you could conquer THE WORLD with that shit. i mean, granted, fruit flies have a life span of like, two weeks at best, but with how quick they mature and reproduce, you’d have an infinite army. ” davina amused herself with the thought of an army of clones replicating and conquering the world... celebrating their victory by buzzing around bowls of fruit. “ because Heelys are l a m e, ” davina sighed. “ but if you’re so up for the movement you should start it. go buy a pair right now and start a senior citizens’ Heelys squad. ”
— run faster. she held onto the backpack she wore tightly and looked back ever so often. she had to be sure no was following her. she was able to find an alley to hide in for the time being. artemis removed her mask and looked out to see if anyone had noticed. out of sight. it was empty and she luckily was able to change back and walk out like a normal civilian. elsa turned around to be sure no one was around and ran across the park to shorten the time to get home. a quick text was sent to her older sibling as she picked up her pace. she looked behind her again and as soon as she turned around she collided into someone, backpack sliding off her shoulder. “shit. are you okay?” elsa moved to the backpack first but some of the jewels fell out. her eyes widened as she quickly shoved them into the bag. “i’ll give you a ruby if you tell no one of this.”

beneath her signature red letterman jacket, davina was wearing all black to pay her respects to her headphones─clunky, purple, broken─as though dramatics would bring them back. really, she just hadn’t done laundry in a while and black was the only color that hid any pizza grease she knew most of her clothes had, but the fact that she was en route for pizza and replacement headphones better fit her angsty teen aesthetic. however, any mournful facsimile she tried to conjure was promptly dispelled upon being shoulder checked. “ oh, fuck you! ” she exclaimed, stumbling, turning to glare at the offender and getting a face full of crime. her eyes widened, looking between the jewels being shoved back into a backpack and the girl doing the shoving ( who, frankly, davina wouldn’t have suspected of what was clearly some next level shit ). “ what, did you kill your sugar daddy for that? ” she asked incredulously, rhetorically. davina crossed her arms and stood up straighter. “ you ever heard of domino’s? ”
working the coney island whack-a-mole booth was not how davina musgrove imagined her first day of summer vacation to go. she’d worked at coney island the past year, scrounging up money for what she planned would be a dope summer, and had put in her two weeks exactly two weeks ago. still, she didn’t have the patience nor attitude to deal with anyone today ( or any day, really ), much less people attempting to barter a giant ass panda into their hands. “ LOOK, dude, we pay little malaysian kids ten cents a day to make these toys, ” she gestured towards the stuffed animals in a way that likely meant something to someone where. “ we can't just give them away. play again and try not eat shit at it. ”
❝ human trafficking isn’t really MY THING, you’ve got nothing to worry about. ❞ vanessa scrunched her nose at the thought, she’d rather stick to beat up other bad guys and taking her money. it was much more her style. ❝ word from the wise, though, don’t go telling people you’re stoned. THAT’S gonna get you in some shit. how old are you anyways, like 16 ? isn’t it past your bedtime ? ❞
“ but it’s SOMEONE’S thing. ” she said ominously, her eyes glazing over in what mimicked the thousand yard stare of a person who’s seen some shit even though a) she hadn’t and b) she was thinking about calzones. even through her hazy mind, davina managed to whip her head around and g l a r e. “ i’m eighteen, actually, and my bedtime is an abstract concept that no one but humans understand. ” as if to prove her point, a rat ran along the sewer grate and davina pointed wildly. “ you think that rat knows what thursday is? hell no! ”
“Grandma,” she repeats, “I’m only twenty-two. To be a mom, I would’ve had a child at sixteen. Six years later, my own child couldn’t have birthed anything. Not possible.” Nat shakes her head. “Oh, you’re dissing me. Well, you don’t have any real proof that Heelys suck, so can’t say your argument is entirely persuasive.”
“ you could be a primary with like, fruit fly powers. you went from birth to twenty-two in two weeks and you’re leaving behind a whole population of fly people. ” davina countered before shrugging. she gestured towards the window, out at the street, at the thousands of pedestrians walking─oh, WAIT, that one’s skateboarding─as proof. “ if they were t h a t legit, why is everyone walking? ”
the hostility or strangers was tiresome, rose thought to herself as the men shouted around her. it wasn’t like they were accomplishing anything; as though their hurled abuses were going to make her suddenly realize that they had some valid points, after all. all that it did was waste her time. midway through one man shouting that she wasn’t a real american, the others got strangely quiet. after a bit of whispering, he fell silent too. her curiosity was piqued at this point, and she turned to look toward the source of their anxiety. thank god for strangers with cell phones. much like exposing a vampire to sunlight, the presence of the camera seemed to make the men beat a hasty retreat. rose couldn’t help the slight turning up of her lips as she watched them go. good riddance. once they were well away, her attention fell to the girl. “it’d almost be pitiable if they weren’t such idiots about it,” she laughed. “depends. if i say yes, will you get those big sad eyes and ask if i’m alright and whether i need anything?” there were few things that rose hated more than feeling weak and helpless. “because if that were the case, nope- first time it’s ever happened before. otherwise, an annoying amount. what is it about men that age and wanting to shout at strangers?”
“ are you alright? do you need anything? ” davina did her greatest impression of her own mother─big blue eyes, a voice like vanilla frosting─before snorting like a goose and ruining the facade completely. “ APPARENTLY lead used to be in gasoline back when people like, smoked in church and polluted the environment, so my dad thinks it’s legit brain damage. ” davina shrugged. she watched them retreat and scoffed. “ i, however, believe it’s a symptom of tiny dick disease. ” she gestured towards rose’s camera. “ what are you shooting today, peter parker? ”
the metal lid of a dumpster clashing against under her boots as vanessa jumped off the building onto it echoed throughout the alley. climbing off of it, vanessa ripped off her mask, the outline of dried blood evident where her mask used to be. tossing her luggage, or rather her spoils of battle ( she’d interrupted quite the lovely drug deal earlier, and had taken the money left over ), over her shoulder, vanessa walked out the alley, waiting for a taxi to flag down. standing on the curb, vanessa notices someone else waiting there too, she turned to them, not caring if they noticed her forming black eye, the night would hide most of it anyway, and the streetlamp would only reveal so little. ❝ nice night, huh ? ❞
the fact that davina had somehow wound up in a part of manhattan she didn’t immediately recognize embarrassed the hell out of her. had she not, earlier in the day, been talking MAD SHIT on twitter about lost tourists and how easy it was to navigate the concrete jungle? never mind the fact that she’d eaten a few edibles en route to the frat party she s t i l l hadn’t located─she should know where she was anyway. davina blinked at the sudden intrusion beside her, glancing at the woman, the dried blood, the bag over her shoulder, and immediately inched away. “ i’m super stoned so if you could try trafficking me another night that’d be dope, ” davina replied.
“so today i found a dead body — again. i’m not sure who the murder is but i have my suspicions as yet again he was an ex-government employee.” rolling his eyes, the dark-haired male took a cigarette and tried to lit it. he had enough of reading other’s minds for the day. right now he wanted to have a conversation without hearing what the other person had to think about him or his actions. “oh s h i t if you’re from the news or something like that, i’m begging you to forget all about it.” thomas would use his mind control to delete this conversation if he had to, but he also had that idiotic principal of not using his powers for unnecessary uses. exactly like this one.
“ are you like, a pervert or something? ” davina inquired, barely looking up from her phone, as she leaned against the brick wall and ignored how many times its likely been pissed on. “ i won’t tell anyone you slap corpse titties if you buy me a slice. ” she shrugged, nodding in the direction of the dollar pizza joint across the street.
it was a situation that rose wasn’t unused to. she’d been wandering the park, camera in hand, when a group of older men came up to her. one downside to being one of the most ACTIVE pro-primary advocates on the scene was that most people knew her face by this point- even those who disagreed with her cause. these guys definitely seemed to fall into that category. they were quick to temper, yelling that she was trying to ‘destroy the natural order of things’- whatever that meant. rose chose not to respond. she wore a serene smile and continued taking pictures as though they weren’t even there. it took about thirty minutes for the men to shout themselves h o a r s e . but despite all of their knuckle cracking and fearsome glares, they weren’t likely to take it beyond harsh words in such a public setting. as they stumbled away, grumbling what she imagined were fairly unfriendly words under their breath, rose realized that she was being observed. she smiled lightly, a soft easiness to her expression that perhaps she did not feel deep inside herself. “they seemed fun, huh?” she joked. “sorry about all of that shouting- apparently they didn’t care for me. guess it’s true what they say; the world never runs out of jerks.”
her headphones─big, clunky, and held together with spit and duct tape─kept bouncing surrender between her ears b e g g i n g for an eternal rest in the nearest garbage can. davina sighed, fidgeting with the position of her beloved purple headphones as though she could totally walk around with her shoulders hunched up and neck stiff as long as it mean cheap trick could do their thing. between moments of static she could vaguely hear shouting─though, walking through central park, when WASN’T someone shouting? she looked up from her latest spotify mix ( davina’s slimetastic classics for the soul ) to see a group of men screaming at an inattentive girl. davina immediately recognized rose collins. she pushed her headphones off─ignoring the bone-like crack of them breaking once and for all─and started recording the scene on her phone as she neared it. the men realized they were being recorded within twenty seconds of her video and started backing off. that wasn’t necessarily her intention but she didn’t hate it... twenty seconds was enough to go viral. “ angry old dudes are the height of comedy. ” davina agreed, ending her video and pocketing the phone. “ does that happen a lot? ”
“It’s a shame that Heelys––those sneakers with wheels on them––are virtually non-existant anymore. Sure, they’re sort of ugly, but no one took the time to adapt them and make them look aesthetically pleasing. Think, how much faster everyone would be if they just rolled around everywhere. Instead, we have actual heels and platform shoes––all not practical, really.”
“ heelys are fuckin’ lame. like, a tier-below-hoverboards lame. ” davina snorted, thumb busy scrolling through twitter. “ get with the times, grandma. ”
hi !! i’m el, i’m twenty my dumb ass really put timezone instead of age in my app idk how my eyes are that bad but! and davina is a lot cooler than me, so if you’re down to find out more about her and plot, hope these milkshakes bring all ya’ll to my yard
— ♦ [ CHLOE MORETZ, CISFEMALE ] it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s DAVINA MUSGROVE, the EIGHTEEN year old, who works as a COLLEGE STUDENT, that is known for being AMBITIOUS & AGGRESSIVE. secretly, they’re actually a CIVILIAN who has the ability of SLIME MANIPULATION. hopefully this new world won’t overwhelm them.
davina’s an only child and lives at home with her parents in astoria, queens; she’s been a subway rat since she could crawl and is about to start her freshman year of college come august
she has absolutely no fucking clue what she wants to do with her life but she’s incredibly ambitious to the point of obsession; once she has a goal, she’ll do gymnastics around any obstacles in her way
this worked out in her favor her entire academic life; davina graduated top 10% of her class and was a wicked soccer player
however, despite standing at 5′2 with big blue eyes, davina is incredibly aggressive
like the girl can’t go twenty seconds without swearing, insulting someone, or bring her tone down from “hostile” if you held her at gunpoint, which means that she was never that great at making or keeping friends
she listens almost exclusively to classic rock ... she makes a lot of mixes on spotify
now for her power... :) davina spent a lot of her high school days running with different crowds, never any who were particularly upstanding citizens, and one of these gallivants through private property ended up with davina falling into a tub of radioactive waste and left to die
except she didn’t die. she just got out, angry as shit, sticky as fuck, watching them run away
she discovered her power the following monday at school when she saw one of them and broke their nose with her fuckin MIND
and at first she thought she was crazy, then she thought she had The Force, and finally she discovered that falling into a vat of radioactive waste gave her the power of slime manipulation
so she can control and manipulate slime, which means anything with a sticky or slimy consistency, as well as basically dissolve herself down to a wall-crawling puddle of slime
she doesn’t want to be a superhero or a villain; she just wants to figure out her major...
but i mean ....... a series of fortunate and unfortunate events could lead her down any path
if ur down to plot, like this or message me !! i’m literally plot thirsty and there’s nothing i won’t turn down tbh hsdsfd
