“Yeah. Surprisingly it does.” Her words are not much more than an agreement, the arm that had been drawn in front of her to keep her from moving withdrawn. She’s kept an eye on their surroundings (par for the course of an assassin) even if her senses are a bit dulled because of the water and other factors. At the very least she’s been trying, so there’s that. She hasn’t spared that much of a glance at her ‘partner’ of sorts, considering he hasn’t done the same. But he does raise a good point - they should get moving soon, before they wake up again, and it will be the easiest opening they get for a while. Might as well take advantage of it. “We probably should get moving soon. I’d rather not be here when they wake up. And I don’t think either of us want to stay around here longer than we have to.”
“It’s more than likely we’ll still have obstacles to deal with. So we both better get ready to attack, defend or whatever we have to do to get through this alive. Just watch my back and I’ll watch yours okay?”
She’s to the point. Good; they don’t have time for pointless chatter, and he has no desire to talk any more than is necessary. Guard is still on edge, of course, little can be done about that, but all things considered, that’s probably for the best: given that they don’t know when something might wake up, it’s better to be prepared for that eventuality. He’s ( secretly ) relieved to see that she’s in agreement, though— while he might not have any particular grievances on leaving someone behind due to conflicting interests, it also wouldn’t rest well on his mind with the current situation in mind. Besides, it’s easier to put his pride aside knowing that this is an arrangement that mutually benefits both of them. “Absolutely not.” He murmurs, something of an agreement, something else that might be almost offended by the notion of sticking around danger.
“Right. Just focus on getting through this, and we’ll have no issues.” A pause, taking a moment to properly glance at her. “I trust you can defend yourself just fine...?” It’s not out of disbelief, that’s hardly the thought that crosses his mind; it’s moreso just him double-checking since he’s not quite sure of her skill set, even if she seems like she might be able to handle herself ( he can extend himself a little further if necessary, honestly; again, he’d at least like to be aware if that’s the case ).
