OMG HI YES!!! SO, this is prolly the most personal imma get on main, Nikolai means a ton to me as a character and i see a lot of myself in him, someone very close to me introduced me to CoDZ so it's always been a dearly loved piece of media to me as a whole!

CW for rambling about addiction, depression, sh and generally shitty coping mechanisms

to be blunt my family tree has had addiction problems that run deep, and hereditary depression and im still struggling with depression to this day

when i was younger n cared sm less about my well being i coped HEAVYYYY with humor, making an ass outta myself especially if it made others laugh, made me forget, the temptation to turn to alcohol was there, pretty badly

had a breaking point where i told myself if i was ever gonna drink it'd be responsibly, id quit sh (which was an addiction in itself) and stop using self depreicating humor as THE fallback, no im not 100% now but im actually dealing with my shit! still poke fun at life every now n then, still a lil off kilter but much better now! how tf is my mental illness relevant to the big Russian baddie from CoD???

my younger self i see alot like Ultimus Nik, and if i hadn't gone down a different path i'd FULLY be that type of person now, who i am now took a different path just as Primis Nik did from the same trauma BOTH him and his Ultimus self suffered, and became the man he is, able to rely on those he cares about and equally be their rock, fuck i love him and he makes me feel a lil more sane about my life😭💜TY FOR LISTENING TO ME SOB, GENUINELY

I actually like the Gorod Krovi reveal that Nikolai only had one wife he loved deeply and used vodka to drown out the pain of her death during Stalingrad.

Yes, this is surprisingly a hot take because people who played since the beginning didn’t like that Nikolai wasn’t just a one dimensional drunk stereotype.
