“I do have a car!” she laughed and shook her head. “It’s just that it’s standing on that small island I’m living on called Japan, alright? I didn’t get to buy one here yet.”

“No shit.” his voice was utterly sarcastic; his right hand touching his lips, as if he was proceeding to gasp dramatically. Zelo remained in that position for a brief moment, before he’d drop his hand down along with his oh-so-shocked-expression. He hated it, when people would point out any flaws; even more, if they were quiet obvious. “Why would you point your finger on something so obvious, though.”
“Because I wanted you to ask me to treat them,” she answered simply with a soft smile, resting her chin on her palm, elbow supported on the kitchen counter she was leaning over, as she watched him. “I considered for a moment to just offer my help but in the end, I just like men asking for my help too much.”

Taemin glances up in surprise when she thanks him; his mouth parted and a searching gaze takes over his expression, as if trying to search her features for any sign of a lie that she was appreciating the task of being close to him. Blonde hair rises as he cocks his head, chest filling with thin breath before he pushes it out through his nostrils - lips pressing closed. But a hand was coming close to him and he stays still for her, lashes flickering when he watches her fingertips. The boy is even surprised again when she partakes of the foam with her tongue.
“Ah–” Is he flustered? Or unused to such affectionate and close gestures. “Yeah, that’d be great. I’m sorry to drag you around the place, you spoil me.” He answers, tipping the last mouthful of coffee into his mouth before letting the cup clatter down - this time his tongue cleans the upper lip. He pushes from the table and rises, using a hand to pull the waistband of his jeans higher, they’re getting loose again.
If she said his confused gaze, the reply to her words, wasn’t hurting, she’d be lying. She was old so she could see it but it didn’t mean she had grown a cold heart. Not wanting him to realize what she thought, she gave him a soft smile while moving out of her chair, grabbing her handbag already. “You shouldn’t be sorry for that. I like how you make me look pretty on paper,” she answered and caressed his head once when passing by and ahead to the counter to pay the bill for their order already. After all, she had been the one to offer him pancakes so she was going to pay it as well. With a sideglance she noticed him tugging at his pants or something she could vaguely recognize as it, her eyesight wasn’t good in the bright light of the coffee so she couldn’t really tell. For the moment she decided to leave it without comment and just signed him to catch up already as she headed to the door to open the umbrella outside, making it stick between her shoulder and neck while searching her pockets for her cigarette package and lighter. For the few seconds he’d need to catch up, she wanted to stock up on nicotine, the slim stick soon lit and she took a drag, blowing it into a direction away from the door. She only averted her gaze from the rain drops hitting the streets to look at him stepping outside, holding the umbrella out to him so he wouldn’t get wet as well. “Should I take you shopping sometime?”

“My parents don’t want anything to do with me. They’re not too pleased and are rather embarrassed by me. I’m an only child - I don’t think they ever really wanted children anyway. I wasn’t what they thought I’d be, I was never invited to parties or events with them. I stayed home and had my drawings to give me comfort. They sent me to live with my grandmother for a bit, and then they shipped me here by myself.” He speaks with a tone devoid of emotion; as if he were reading a fact book and the information written down before him had been long decided and he was powerless to stop it - which was true. He studies the table beneath bowed lashes before shaking the brief mood off. “So yeah, you’re a higher ranking than my mother, a lot higher.”
“I think I wanna try drawing you again, I think I know what I was missing.” He answers in honesty, lifting his head and glancing across to her - taking his cup to drain the last remnants of coffee but the foam sticks to the corners of his mouth. “That is, if you don’t mind.”
Her expression changed only lightly with his words, became a bit more somber since she couldn’t understand it. Albeit she had no family of her own, couldn’t remember her parents nor ever had had anything close to it, albeit she was probably one of the most cruel persons he would ever meet in his life - knowing so or not - she still couldn’t understand how a mother would be able to leave her kid alone and mistreat it. Even more so since she had once gotten to learn the joys of raising a kid for some time, it wasn’t something she would ever be able not to treasure. “I’m sorry to hear that,” she finally said with a bit of empathy, “But I’m also glad I’m already treasured by you like that. It makes me happy.” For once a sparkle in her eyes supported her words, making them more believable and she just nodded her agreement to another drawing session. She mostly slept so she didn’t mind at all, if it made him happy, she’d easily be able to do it. “I don’t mind at all,” she smiled and leaned in to wipe the milk foam away from his lip with her thumb, not caring at least that it was quite the intimate gesture, in the end she even licked the foam of her lips. “Shall we go back then?”

“Yes by taking my car or a taxi. No one recognizes me when I drive so.” He laughed. “To the right.”
“I really wish I had a car already. I’m envious,” she sighed and followed him down the street, brushing her hair aside that got messed up by the little wind. “In my house there’s a car park, I’ll write you later what slot I have. Since I don’t have a car yet, just park yours there.”

He did as he was told, a small smile on his lips as he imagined her storming into the City Hall or the Coach building and demanding his boss to give him some free time. It would be a sight to see, really. “My bosses aren’t pushovers either.” He sighed, the cup in his hands as he sipped at his tea, realising it wasn’t as hot at it was before and proceeded to down it, placing it on the table with a contented sigh. “That was nice,” he smiled, moving to stand up and straighten himself out as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, then proceeding to wipe it on his jeans. “Well then, Lilith.” He nodded, gesturing to the door. “A deal’s a deal, but that deal can’t be put into action today. I have a meeting in a few minutes.” He hummed, noting the time on his wrist watch. “I better get going…”
“Then ask for a free day as soon as possible,” she smiled as she sat down on the edge of the couch to watch him silently while he enjoyed his tea. She’d need to make sure she had his favorite tea again if they really had to spend more time again. But her eyes widened lightly in surprise as he got up, making her reach for the cup so she could take it to the kitchen. His gesture signed he was up to go, no wonder, who’d stay the night at someone else’s place they hardly know when it wasn’t for a one night stand. “You have a meeting this late at night?” she asked and looked at him, already taking light steps towards the entrance hallway to show him out but managed the smile perfectly. “And don’t forget to ask your boss for some free time.”

“Not really…” He huffed. “It’s difficult to get anywhere now a days like this. But I have my ways of being able to go anywhere.”
“You mean by taking your own car or a taxi?” Swiftly she made her way through the tables until they were off the outside terrace. “Left or right to go catch a cab?”

He reached for the piece of paper and brought out his wallet, putting it in before he put the wallet back in his pocket, nodding. He just realised he had left his phone in the office–he’d probably have to get it back later especially since he has to be at the beck and call of the mayor now that he’s started interning there–so he opted to memorise the number and keep the paper as a memory. Something to make sure this entire conversation happened and he had met someone who made him feel as safe as he did when he was a child. “I usually never have a day off though.” He replied, leaning back but extending a hand for a shake nevertheless. “It’s a deal, but I can’t promise anything.”
She smiled as he reached out his hand, shaking it lightly but with an earnest grip before she looked at him more closely, leaning down a bit for that. “You don’t have to stay the night if you feel uncomfortable,” she mentioned since she had seen how he had looked thoughtful for a moment without any of her words arousing that kind of situation. “But you should make sure to have a free day soon or I’ll need to show up at your workplace and kidnap you. Believe me, I can be quite persuasive.” This time her smile was more innocent, thus making her words seem more intimidating than they originally were. “Now, drink your tea before it gets cold, it tastes the best when it’s still warm.”

“Thank you so much. To the station? Nah I need a ride to my place. I have my car there and the wine… And everything I own.”
“So you need a taxi?” she asked and tilted her head a bit. “Can you even ride with public transportation if you’re that famous?”

“Pizza?” He suggested as he got up from the table. “Anything really… So it doesn’t matter. I need to eat though.” He sighed. “Thank you.”
“Alright, you can order one when you’ve arrived then,” she smiled and got up, lifting her bag to her shoulder. “Do you need to get to the station?”

“Really? I don’t remember. Probably because I was drunk. This time… I’ll remember.” He sighed as he took down the address. “Thank you. I’ll be there with a bottle within an hour.”
“Please do so. If you remember this time, you’ll have it easier the next times,” she smiled and leaned forward a bit. “No problem, really. I rather like having visitors but if you want something to eat, you should tell me now.”

“Gotcha.” He nodded as he drank the rest of his coffee. “I’ll finally get to sleep.” He sighed. “Where should I meet you? You haven’t taken me to your place.”
“No? I haven’t? I thought you surely must have visited for a drink once,” she said a bit surprised but pulled out her phone then for messaging him her address. “If you don’t find it immediately, call me. If you do, just go to the uppermost floor by elevator and then ring my bell.”
“ you’re changing. ”
She looked up from her phone screen at those words, furrowing her brows ever so lightly. Her eyes might be in flashing silver at the current light but they were like steel despite the amount of alcohol she had already taken in. “And how exactly should I not be changing?” she asked with a bit of an annoyed tone to her voice as she stared at the younger, knowing he’d give in if only she kept the tough appearance long enough. It wasn’t even difficult, she had had a tough day and now she was drunk, she really wasn’t in the mood to discuss how much she had actually changed throughout her life time.

“Then wouldn’t me being or feeling happiness be the expectation?” He smiled, tone teasing as he leant more of his body weight over to her, their position on the sofa already slanted at an awkward angle, as though they were trying to lie down but not really. He couldn’t quite pinpoint as to the reason why (besides the fact that she looked like Gemma) but he wanted to make her happy and she made it seem like it was her life goal to make sure he was. “I’m up for anything as long as it fits in my schedule.” He nods, straightening himself up and adjusting his sitting position so they’d face each other, arm propped up on the back of the sofa. “I’m hard to please, you know.” He chides, smiling as he nudged her. It was easy being with her, as though she was the breath of fresh air he didn’t know he needed. It was familiar and home-y, something he hadn’t felt in a long time. Thank you, he wanted to say, but he wasn’t sure for what. For existing? Probably, but he could’t tell that to someone he’d just met a few hours prior. So he kept silent, head tilting as he waited on her reply.
“I wouldn’t call it an expectation,” she smiled softly but it was said with a bit of hesitance and she already moved her hand to slap her thigh and sign him to lay there, not feeling a bit ashamed about letting a man she supposedly knew since only an hour and something rest on her bare legs but he already moved by himself so she just followed the lead and leaned against the backrest, turned sideways with a pillow hugged loosely so she wouldn’t get too drawn to get touchy with him again. “I’ll make making you smile a goal for that day then, not an expectation. Like I said, you’ll only have to smile when you feel like it and you can tell me when you feel annoyed but that’s it.” She broke her sitting position to get up and search for a pen and paper on the big table, scribbling down her name, phone number and address quickly but while making sure it was readable so she could hand it to him. “Call me when you have a day off and don’t need to study. I’ll take care of everything else then. Deal?”
