STRANGERS FLIRTING WITH him always made him feel so small, like he could curl up in a ball on the floor. What was it about promiscuity stained words and half-lidded eyes that made him want to bury himself underground, until the entire world left him alone? All he could hear was his mother’s resounding chides, even as she was stuck behind prison bars. It was enough to make him shiver and never want to be intimate with anyone ever again.

This was why he could never crawl out of his comfort zone, allow himself to have one night of unabashed fun, because he could feel her disappointment coursing through his system. She existed as an imaginary ball and chain, tied to his foot, dragging him to dark ocean depths, nothing existing but her unfulfilled desires.

When a stranger suddenly slid into the midst of it all, Sangho smiled at him exasperatedly. Everything about his expression screamed save me. Suddenly, he was willing to lie and act as if this man was the best friend he hadn’t seen in years. He wrapped his arms around the other willingly, but then an act he could have never imagined occurred instead. The exact opposite of what he had wanted.

It was a simple, chaste peck, but it was still a kiss. His first with another man. While Sangho would never deny his blooming attraction to the same gender, he was inherently shy around them. And now, the small bout of affection he had been saving for someone special (someone he hadn’t met yet) had been taken away. Just like that. Red immediately overtook his entire face, leaving his entire frame stiff and useless. He practically had to be dragged away from the group of girls, whose mouths had dropped open in shock.

Once outside (he couldn’t even remember leaving the club), Sangho remained still, arms held up defensively, far too taken aback to even properly speak. He had been rescued, but at what cost? Jawline clenched, as fingers tapped at his now tainted lips, his mind still scrambled and unable to process exactly what had happened.

“Y-you― You kissed me!”

RARE OPPORTUNITIES SUCH as these had always managed to get Gavin in a good mood, the mere fact that his daily routine was thrown off balance making him smile. The routinary nature of his life made him feel as though his entire being--personality, actions, et. al.--had become harmonious in a sense wherein he’s become rather monotonous as compared to when he was when he was younger. Being a part of the scene when he developed into his teenage years had made him develop this now inherent ability to blend in wherever he went; this either got him in or out of trouble, depending on the context.

Tonight’s context, it seems, got him into more trouble than he had hoped for--though he let out a sigh of relief since the cops weren’t involved this time. Nothing out of the ordinary now; just a boy seemingly inept in the art of flirting, partying, and all around having fun.

He let out his most business-like smile (though coming from the business of selling himself, it leaned more towards a flirtatious smile than a polite one), moving to lean on the railings of the fire escape stairs, the two of them in a seemingly empty alleyway--seemingly since he knew there were some who dealt in this particular one at certain times of the day.

“Why?” He mused, letting out a soft chuckle as he waved his hand dismissively before crossing them, nose scrunching as he looked at him. At least he wasn’t ugly. “Do you want another?”

His nature now was to make sure he got whatever he wished for using his body, all of his actions leading to a specific goal for the night. Tonight’s goal: to not get bored; and it seems as though he found the right person to enact his little plan (or rather, bring down along with him).

“I wouldn’t even count that as a kiss.” He comments, tilting his head for a bit as he pushed himself off of the railing, circling the boy (who was slightly taller than him, he noted--a bonus) and eyeing him from head to toe. A small gasp escaped his lips as he stood in front of him, brows up and eyes wide, feigning innocence.

“Did I take your first?”

“well, i do need to update my wardrobe to fit that title more.” it was true that she tends to keep the things inside her closet mostly neutral with very little pops of bright colors here and there. though they were mostly pushed aside and left forgotten inside her closet since she rarely reaches for them. seolhyun hadn’t noticed how many he had eaten until she saw the container she brought almost empty. even she couldn’t finish that much cookies in one sitting, and she loved to eat sweets as much as he does. she was surprised that he managed to keep his figure the way it was considering how much sugar he can taken. her eyes followed where he was going and not before long, her feet started to where he laid down lazily.

with a nudge on his lower leg, a small frown creased the space between her eyebrows. “you always say that… also, you know that it’s never good for you to lay down after eating, especially with that many cookies you just ate. one of these days, your stomach will grow. you’ll look like a father without any children. what would be your excuse then, huh?” now she was starting to sound like a mother nagging her son. though with how he was acting, she felt as though it was needed. seolhyun had always felt as though everyone around him just agreed to whatever he had asked them to do. now, seolhyun wouldn’t simply allow that to happen between them. someone needed to keep him at his place, even if that meant that he might kick her out of his house after he was done getting what he needed from her. “you need to start checking your priorities. i know your work is taking up much of your time, but you also need to start thinking about your health too. what good it would be if you ended up dead because you’re always too busy or unmotivated by anything?”

he shrugged off all her nagging antics, her words going in one ear and out the other. he didn’t quite care for other peoples’ opinion of him, opting to only seek to actively change it if they’re worth his time. she, however, fully understands her position and that he wouldn’t change any habit or lifestyle decisions to go according to her wishes. whatever she sought to achieve through her little pep talk (should he even call it that?) fell on deaf ears, emrys laying down equating to him morphing himself into a silhouette of a void whom none could talk to.

nonetheless, her words made him groan, purely because of the weight of it. not that it mattered, but she talked for so long that he couldn’t just shrug it off. her usual antics consisted of a sentence or two he could hum and shrug off all the while it still being counted as a valid reply. he looked at her, unmoving as he raised a brow, clicking his tongue. “you talk too much. so what if i lie down after i eat? i’m full, i want to rest. why’re you intruding upon my natural way of doing things?” he grumbled, crossing his arms as he turned to face the back of the sofa, nose scrunching as he did so. “as long as i’m able to do my work and live on--whether through my own powers or others--i deem it as a success. don’t talk about my priorities when you don’t know of them.”

Standing outside the store, Eunseong checked off the small list she had been sent to get for her mother. Honestly, she should have done this before she had gotten in line, but regardless it didn’t matter; she had everything. She was ready to head back. Starting her walk, the girl dipped her head down, eyes at her feet, as people passed her, not wanting to attract any attention late at night. But wait-

Why was one of her white shoes, red at the toe?

She paused, digging in her purse to grab her cell phone to turn on the flashlight. The underside of the top of her left shoe was indeed red; it looked like blood. Nervously, she turned around, and could see the half footprints of blood created by her shoe. “What in the-,” she muttered under her breath. Unknowingly lead by curiosity, she retraced her step to see where she had stepped in the blood at the same time noticing her footprints weren’t the only blood traces on the sidewalk. Upon reaching the main source, a shallow pool of blood far from a street light, the girl couldn’t imagine how this whoever had left this blood had gotten injured. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the trail continued into an alley. 

Following the trail, Eunseong’s first thoughts were about how she should not have followed the path, but she was doing it anyways against any better judgment. Not far from the fork in the alley, she saw the source of blood, a man sitting against the wall of a building, clearly running, hiding. Staying still for a few moments, she contemplated her options before thoroughly looking around for any watching eyes. Seeing nothing, the girl rushed over to the man, and got to his level before her hand began to glow as she attempted to heal his wounds.

Attempts at his life had become a rare occurrence once he moved to Korea, the usual daily to weekly battles against the anti-King faction being a thing of the past (or rather, a problem for his stand-ins) as he moved to deal with greater affairs--also known as the expansion of his Kingdom.

This was probably why this one caught him by surprise, a cut on his face and his arm bleeding the perfect way to showcase it.

He grunted as he looked around, eyes glowing green as he muttered spells to heal himself, looking for the man who tried to take his life, snarling as he walked. “Damn it.” He groaned, looking down at his bloodied up suit, sighing as he probably needed to throw it away (unless Kibum, his secretary, could work some of his own magic and make sure there wouldn’t be any more blood on it after a good wash--but then that would entail him having to tell Kibum of his powers and his predicament, which he wanted to avoid due to an inkling of his that he wasn’t to be trusted with much.)

He followed the trail of blood he found as he had already heavily wounded his assailant, eyes glowing as he summoned his undead, the small group of warriors following behind him as he walked, illuminating the alleyway with his green mist, a brow quirking as he saw his assailant with an unknown girl, a scoff escaping his lips.

“What’s this, backup? I’m sorry to say, but no amount of people could possibly allow you to kill me off.”

Usually, she’d definitely do more than just consider protesting, seeing how she was not a fan of being ordered around or even dragged like this. But she wasn’t faced with a normal person, no, and she was more than used to this sort of behaviour. Yoona considered herself lucky that he actually bothered being nice to her, and she was willing to follow as she was told so it would stay that way. After all, a part of her was fond of the male.

"Food and fresh air, what a lovely combination. I think I saw some food stand around, maybe we’ll see it.” She mumbled as she followed obediently behind him, pointedly ignoring the stares they were receiving. “Maybe you’re lucky and the issue’s solved once we are back.”

His temperament oftentimes made people quit in a heartbeat, most of his staffers either used to his antics, have been with him long enough to know how to deal with it, or is blinded by his status and power that they’re willing to do whatever it was to get on his good side (the thing was: he didn’t have one).

He looked at her with a quirked brow, lips pursing as he walked, looking around the area. He’s never been there before--seeing how small everything is, he probably wouldn’t be back--shrugging at the girl’s comment. “I need sweets.” He hums, looking around and seeing a small corner bakery and moving towards it, scoffing as he waved his hand dismissively at her. “With how fast they work? It’d probably take another hour or so. How slow.” He sighed, shaking his head. They should really learn from his staff, he mused, far too used to getting everything done within the hour.

“I’ve set my life on this path and I don’t think about changing it.”, were the words that left his mouth so calm and relaxed. there was no hurry, no will to fight in him: he did not have to prove a point to them or defend their statement. he could say it without being judged. without being laughed at. “What your main goal in life? what do you want to do? what do you want to achieve?”, a man that was seeking for power, definitely had a plan. had a use for it. definitely had his own reasons why he wanted to have it so much.

It’s been a while since Emrys was this comfortable with talking to someone with an opposing view, internalising his statements and humming as he took another sip from his tea, crossing his legs as he sunk in his seat, observing him. It was interesting, having someone oppose him so openly and brazenly without fear; it’s been a while since that happened as well. “I want to rule.” It was simple to him--he was born and raised to rule, presiding over both his kingdom and Annwn. “It’s in my nature to want power, in my blood. Just as you claim you seek no further power due to your forefathers, I claim and seek out more due to mine. Though,” he mused, lips pursed. “I’ve far surpassed all previous generations.” He nodded, eyes gleaming green as the slight excitement and adrenaline rush from the trueness of his statement riling him up.

“in constant wonder of the other person. that’s really lovely, mason. i didn’t expect anything less from you, though.” she muses quietly, unable to help the way her lips had begun to curve into a smile. it is that, she thinks. how she’s been since that proverbial spark, a feeling that is yet to fade. if anything, it only seems to be growing. better or worse? she’s not sure. “does that include constant worry too? or am i a hopeless case?” she jokes, resting her head against the taller’s arm. taking comfort in the sound of their laugh and in the fond reminiscence of their meeting as they continued to walk. the building’s facade greeting them a little too soon for her liking.

“you can come up, of course. i trust you.” she nods, nudging him towards the stairs. never the elevator– she dislikes them. her home isn’t a place many are invited to; security matters a lot to haneul and she’s quite protective of this small sanctuary she’s created for herself. few are the friends who even know where she lives. “i’m on the fifth floor. it’s a bit of a climb, but i’m sure you can handle it.”

“that’s always subject to change though.” he mused, lips pursed as he looked at her. given the fact that he’s never been in any sort of romantic relationship nor has pursued anyone in that kind of sense, he let philosophies remain philosophies as he moved to bring his hand up to lightly scratch the other’s head as she leant against him, her company rather soothing for him, smiling as they walked. “you’re probably a hopeless case, but it should be fine.”

his smile only disappeared when the girl had mentioned stairs, the entire notion of trust and friendship put at the back of his head as he was faced with five flights of it. “this is why elevators exist, haneul.” he groaned, watching her lead the way up, already trying to steady his breathing so he wouldn’t be wheezing by the time they’d get to her apartment. the entire task was daunting enough, he didn’t need extra work. i shouldn’t have asked......

The boy had barely changed since the last time Kangjoon saw him. His traits were the same, so similar it left Kangjoon wondering if Mason even aged. On the other hand, the actor looked completely different, the lack of sleep and the overuse of makeup affecting his face. “Eight months? Maybe more?” He asked pretending he didn’t knew exactly that it had been nine months since they last saw each others. Of course, each had contacted the other, always planning a meeting that would soon be cancelled due to their busy schedules mostly Kangjoon’s.

“Do I need a reason to visit my own parents?” The truth was that he would only visit them when his mother would call him asking him to pick up gifts fan dropped to their place. Mason knew that Kangjoon’s relationship with his parents was not good, so why would he even bother lying? The older sighed and looked over at the boy standing in front of him. “Fans dropped tons of birthday gifts at my parents’s, I don’t want to bother them with that so I came to pick some and leave them at the company’s building.”

He shrugged as he honestly had no clue as to when they last met up, the mere fact of that being so only emphasising their lack of contact the past few months, a small sigh escaping his lips. He had been one of the people that helped him relatively settle when he moved in, a friendly face to see and hang around back when he first started university. Now that he’s famous (though he didn’t doubt he would be, given his face and passion), this was a rare opportunity.

He moved the bags filled with groceries to one hand, the now free one reaching to pinch the other’s face, smiling fondly. “Aren’t you so sought after.” He teased, taking a step back in case of any retaliation, humming as he balanced on the balls of his feet. “Need any help there?”
