Hi Everyone! I'm Dawn. I find inspiration in art, nature, culture, architecture, food, people and music. And for me, fashion is a compilation of all that. I addition to fashion, I am also very passionate about poverty justice. Right after university I volunteered in a charity organisation called Opportunity International Australia, working with like minded people help raise funds and awareness for people living in a marginalised society and restricted and burdened by poverty.

LMFAO releases their next hit - Champagne Showers, featuring Karli Henriquez.

This track is AMAZING!!! Just as good as their first hit single Party Rock Anthem. I particularly love they've stuck with using the 'robot' dancer.

Kim Hyun Joong's second MV for his solo debut mini album - Breakdown. Although his voice is massively auto-tuned and stretched in his chart topping single, it's catchy and intriguing. I personally love the dance in this MV and applaud him for  job well done in his successfully delivering a great performance as a solo artist away from him usual five men show.

Aziatix's second MV - Cold - has been released. The trio debut with their first single 'Go' and have quickly made a name for themselves. I'm surprised 'Cold' wasn't released sooner to build the hype to their (hopefully) released album (mini or full). Well worth the wait it seems. Cold is a sad rnb ballad playing on the same lines as  Go, but I'm glad their continuing along the lines of this theme. Its working for them so why shouldn't they continue!

The Smiths

Lord knows this wouldn't be the first time that I've been in the mood for The Smiths. There's something about the way The Smiths - their quirky but honest lyrics are matched by a heavenly falsetto. 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' is a song in particular that stands out. There is something so honest yet ironic about the song, that being the lyrics having a sense of honesty - and this is highly contrasted by the playful and cheeky strumming of the guitar, matched by a falsetto that sounds like a voice that is too content.

Kelly Rowland featuring Lil Wayne - Motivation

I'm in the mood for some smooth tunes with more then a hint of sensual lyrics.

Seems like Kelly Rowland is doing everything right. Collaborating with the talented David Guetta hasn't stopped Kelly Rowland from making great choices. Her recently released track with Lil Wayne will hopefully be a chart topper for the former member of  Destiny Child's.

Eminem featuring Royce Da'5'9" - Fast Lane

is a dirty song that screams old school in my ears. It's been a while since I've heard a dirty beat and rough weathered rapping. Not to mention the lyrics!!! Since Nicki Minaj's collaboration with Eminem - Roman's Revenge, from her hit album Pink Friday, a track of lustful and quirky lyrics, I haven't come across a recent dirty single by Eminem. Yup - I'm loving it!

Opportunity for the opportunist

Slightly off topic in comparison to my usual posts.

Recently re-discovering myself back to my academic roots of International Relations and Human Rights, I find myself thinking of the developed, developing and under-developed world. A lot of attention goes towards the much needy in the continent of Africa where AIDS seeks to destroy its population, malnutrition seem to conquer the majority and a continent that holds the majority of the worlds most poverty stricken people. 

With such pressing issues at hand, we easily dismiss or ignore similar matters in our back doors. What about India, Philippines and Indonesia, just some three nations that witness some of the poorest peoples of the Asia Pacific region. Sure India is one of the fourth largest economies of the world, but with its population sitting at 1.1 billion people, India has some 900 million people living in poverty.

Attention, aid and funds should be spread out evenly and according to what is needed most and in which specific areas should be considered a priority. What is needed is not loosely donating funds to the behest of 'non-governmental organizations' and ruthless, corrupt political leaders is a pointless and wasteful giving. Whose to know just how much of these funds will be allocated to the needy. And lets just say that these funds are wholly, 100% donated to poor villages and poverty stricken people, when is enough? Wouldn't these funds just run out? This is why providing funds to help these countries at a grass-root level is mighty important. Not only would we stimulate the economy, but we would also arm people with tools that can be used for years and years to come.

Dead Reckoning

The eleventh installment of Charlaine Harri's, Sookie Stackhouse novels is set to be released on the 2nd of May, 2011.

Titled Dead Reckoning, the latest installment has got me biting on my finger nails as I wait impatiently for the next thrilling-romantic read that Harris has staged for us. The sypnopsis for this book is as follows:

With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. But Sookie suspects otherwise and she and Sam work together to uncover the culprit - and the twisted motive for the attack. But her attention is divided.
