A cousin of a Colorado critter, the collared pika lives north in Alaska. This little guy was busy building hay piles for surviving the winter in @denalinps. Pika don't hibernate but rather hunker down "indoors" under large rock piles with a cache of dried grasses and plants to munch on during cold winter months. #femalenaturephotographycom #wildlifephotography #wildlifewednesday @usinterior @goparks @gorving

Just added my latest blog post about my travels to Yosemite National Park. It was a last minute trip and completely unplanned so I was very happy with the few photos I did capture. It is an amazingly beautiful place.

Travel in California has been wonderful and very successful. I will back track a little about my travels in upcoming blog posts but enjoy this one about the crown jewel of the national park system.

Flight pattern of a snow goose Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico

I had wanted to try this type of composite for a while - ever since I saw a similar technique used on a hot air balloon in flight as it dipped into a lake. Birds move a lot more erratically than a hot air balloon - and a snow goose is a lot smaller.
