Tina St. Claire, 1984 - 2016.
Tina St. Claire was my friend, a brilliant artist and with all meaning of the phrase, one of a kind.
Tina passed away Wednesday morning, March 9th, 2016 at her home in Los Angeles, California after courageously battling Cancer. I don’t know how to sum someone’s life or our times together up in any form or fashion, it’s an impossible feat. But Tina was the genuine article when it came to art and being an incredible person. We had many adventures in the time we knew each other and she taught me many things from all points of life. She loved her fiancé Dereck Seltzer who was her collaborator, confidant and beside her to the very end. She loved her kitten Moogle. She was never not with a sketchbook and she always had a hilarious quip ready for anything. She saw the world with a light no one else held or will hold.
I will miss my friend. Sweet dreams sidekick.
I’ve gathered a number of Tina’s works of art, collaborations with her fiancé Dereck and other miscellaneous images below. Please take a look and look through her Instagram and Tumblr, she was always, always creating.

The Russian punk band Pussy Riot has just released a new music video lampooning the country’s prosecutor-general, Yuri Chaika.
The prosecutor-general, who is supposed to be one of Russia’s top crime fighters, has been accused of massive corruption. The song revels in it.
The video opens with a woman in a prosecutor’s uniform gorging on a roast turkey, which she tears apart with her bare hands.
Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, one of the founders of the Pussy Riot protest collective, raps a kind of Russian primer for how to get ahead via corruption: “Be humble, learn to obey, don’t worry about material stuff,” she says. “Be loyal to those in power, ‘cause power is a gift from God, son.”

Modern Love - David Bowie (Let’s Dance, 1983)
Five Years - David Bowie (The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, 1972)
I met Iggy Pop at Max’s Kansas City in 1970 or 1971. Me, Iggy, and Lou Reed at one table with absolutely nothing to say to each other, just looking at each other’s eye makeup.

first drawing of 2016 the hair killed my ink but it was worth it inspired by @kieraplease
A few months ago, I went to “gay brunch” with some lesbian friends in West Hollywood. I wore a little pink sundress, my hair down and curled. A couple of hours later, I left my friends at The Abbey (a gay bar in L.A.), to meet my boyfriend. After dinner, he and I texted my friends, wanting to meet up again. In between the two events, I’d changed clothes, and now I was wearing shorts, a backwards snap-back hat, a flannel, and sneakers.
I wrote another article. The headline is a bit much but it’s about being not gay enough and not straight enough.
