Tweaked the names of the CotL verses to better reflect the ideas I had in mind when I came up with them based on my various saves in the game back when I first played. In short:
Normal Verse - A sort of in-between, entirely a slave to their whims, be they benevolent or malevolent, while also having both silver-tongued and assholeish qualities. Lead by Peace - Kind and inspires those around them, valuing each member of their flock dearly as individuals. Lead by Bloodshed - Cruel and aggressive, treating their cult as little more than playthings to sacrifice on a whim. (Literally in save file order too)
Though don't expect me to write for the CotL characters anytime soon. Got burnt out on the game back in February (of last year), played for a bit in August, and haven't really picked it up since. Closest I'll probably get is the Pokeverse one, and even that's a bit of a stretch.
Cue the Cybermon tackling the digital Vaporeon. Has Nekoh missed Beta? Yes, yes she has.
@day-rp
Beta let out a startled yelp, having not expected the feline to basically slam into them. Losing their balance, they fell to one side onto the ground.
"Agh... Hey, I missed you too, but a little warning next time, 'kay?"
Tenebrae did have a point; Sheepin knew nothing about a 'Great Spirit of Shadow', having never heard of such a title before. Perhaps, the mammal was an ancient Godd? From long past before the current ones ruled over Enion.
How much of the world did he truly not know? Granted, he spent most of his youth in servitude to the very Godds that wanted him dead. Now, on the run, hunted down like the prey animal he was, did he get to explore the vast lands of Enion, all while being in serves to another deity.
All the same, he remained quiet, allowing the bunney to speak. He nodded along now and again to show that he was listening to what the spirit had to say.
"Sheepin. My name is Sheepin." He gave a respectful bow, likely at the irritation of his lord, but old habits died hard. "I will admit, I have not heard of you till now. But, there is much of Enion that is a mystery to me."
"Eni..." Tenebrae trailed off, mouthing the word again. Their eyes widened in realization of the fact that this wasn't the land they knew. "Damn, it's been far longer than I even thought was possible... For Aurora and its people to fade even out of the realm of myths and legends..."
They folded their arms, thinking. They supposed that a cataclysmic event could have scattered the landmass across space and time, and his home just so happened to land here... They looked at the caprine, completely unlike any of the races of his home, which was further evidence of their hypothesis.
"Talk about one hell of an overdue wakeup call⊠Well, I may as well follow you around for a while since I know jack about this world."
âOh, I already have powers, actually. But thanks,â Bolt replied, nonchalant about the fact that he was not a normal dog.
No, he was a super dog.
He stared out the window, still feeling on-edge as long as he wasnât with Penny. He just hoped she wasnât in trouble.
He looked back at Barkley. âYouâre probably not sure what I mean by âpowersâ, right? Iâll show you when we get off.â
"I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do!"
Eventually, the train left the whirling lights and began to stop in a near-identical station to where they left. Though here the pressure felt more intense than in Cherry Cross Station, almost to the point of being crushing.
"This is the station Morgante stays in. She's not in here anymore, thanks to Riley and Kayleigh, but her power doesn't feel any less... suffocating."
"Thing is, they told me she was already badly hurt when they arrived, and they just barely survived."
Billiey gave a sheepish smile as they watched the winged horrse's ears perk up at their comment. The rubbed the back of their neck with a light chuckle, feeling bad that Helia had to help them so much. Then again, it wasn't their fault, as far as they knew, given the fact that they couldn't remember anything.
The little goatt snorted at the idea, shaking their head. Memory or no memory, they weren't stupid. They knew better than to point the blade at themself, or anyone that wasn't an enemy.
"Guess we'll see how well I do working as we go," Billiey said. "Thanks for the weapon, by the way."
" No problem. And don't worry if it happens to break at some point. As long as I have the spare energy, I can make as many of those as I need. "
She twirled the staff, the four remaining blades of light surrounding the end becoming a golden blur, short-lived embers flying around. Though they appeared to be hot to the touch, they thankfully didn't seem strong enough to actually catch anything on fire.
" The real limiting factor is how long it takes for me to recover. "
Lamben blinked, looking down at the slightly shorter creature that had appeared. He - hadn't been expecting the statue to come alive. He stared at the other, trying to process what he had witnessed. Given the nature of Arvendale, anything was possible.
As the bunney studied him, the sheepe did back. From what he could gather, the stranger didn't appear as though he was allied with the gods. He had no idea how long the black-furred animal had been asleep for, long enough for the temple to come to ruin, and seemingly not know he was supposed to hate the caprine's kind, at least.
"That's putting it lightly," Lamben said back. "First off, who are you? What's this temple? Are you some sort of god?"
"Slow down, one question at a time please," the rabbit pleaded. He cleared his throat and looked at Lamben. There was a lot to explain, and even though he didn't even know where he was, he'd do his best to answer the sheepe's questions.
"My name is Tenebrae, the Great Spirit of Shadow. Though that title likely means very little to you if I've been asleep for as long as I think I have." He leaned back against the pedestal, looking up at the vine-covered ceiling.
"I suppose you could say that this temple is my home. A small slice of sanctuary from the chaos of the world. A place where I could close my eyes, and pretend all the bad things don't exist..."
Hooves clanked against the stone ground of the old temple as a small form trailed through the ruined place. Small ears perked up, twitching and turning, listening for any sudden noise that wasn't his own.
Lamben came across a statue; one that looked like a bunney of some kind. Dusty from years of left to rot away in the temple. A paw came out to gently brush some of the dirt away, only to bleat in surprise as light shone from the object, so suddenly that he had to shield his eyes, and step back.
The light gradually dimmed, revealing a black rabbit with a white underbelly, ear tips, and paws, save for the right front paw. The former statue animated, gradually stretching and letting out a yawn. His wings unfurled outward, going from stone gray to a dark purple, almost black, same as the jewel on his necklace.
His eyes opened, irises the same shade as the jewel and wings, with gray sclera. Looking around at the ruins of what was once a grand temple, he quickly figured he was asleep for a long time. Finally, his gaze fell onto Lamben, studying him for a moment.
"If the temple's fallen into this state, I must have been asleep for some time..." He hopped off the pedestal, a fair bit shorter than the caprine, only going being Lamben's height by a few inches thanks to his long ears. "I'm sure you have questions."
PSA: Reblogging / Posting Glitch.
There appears to be a glitch ongoing where reblogs and posts will not properly show up on the dashboard, unless a hard refresh is done. You will still get the notification for when a thread is reblogged for example, however in most scenarios you will need to go directly to that person's blog domain to see the post itself.
This does not seem to be an issue with extensions as far as I'm aware, did indeed test this on a fresh browser with no extensions and some posts simply aren't loading on dash. It's often reblogs, but sometimes original posts as well. Make sure you double check notifications / the notes of roleplays you're waiting on to see if they replied and it just didn't load on the dashboard.
This appears to only be an issue on desktop, in the mobile app you can see all posts just fine. Reminder to send support tickets explaining that reblogs and posts are not showing up on the dashboard.
Starter for @scperbark
There was a light nudging at Bolt's side, a thick bundle of fur pushing up against the swiss shepherd mix. When he came to, he would find a Pomeranian bumping against him with his nose, trying to get him to wake up. The area around him wasn't familiar at all, being a cherry meadow, just in front of an abbey that appeared to have a heavy emphasis on stained glass.
" Hey! " Barkley gave Bolt another push. " Are you okay? ... C'mon wake up! "
scperbark:
Bolt blinked in response to his name being mentioned, but at Barkleyâs reassurance, he nodded. âOk.â He walked towards the train, looking over it to be sure it was safe.
He was quickly certain that it was, and he followed Barkley inside. Sitting down by a window, Bolt stared out of it, but soon looked at his companion. âHow many times have you taken this train?â
" Oh, plenty of times! It's the best way to get around New Wirral. Thankfully, the Archangels normally stay on Platform B, so you usually have to go out of your way to encounter them. "
Barkley smiled as the train began to move, leaving into the corridor. As the train passed into the darkness, something shifted, and a myriad of lights whizzed by the train as it took off towards Harbourtown Station.
" Once we get to town, we can probably get you a cassette player like mine. Weird as it sounds, they let us take the form of different creatures around the island! I don't know how to explain it, but it's pretty cool! "
" It's kind of the only way we can defend ourselves without any special powers of our own. "
" Alright. And once we're there, I can get to work on getting you a weapon. As much as I hate it, walking around in the middle of nowhere without one is a death wish. "
Helia pulled the staff off of her back, the blazing gold blades of light appearing at the end. She focused her power, fire from the staff's light beginning to break off, swirling into a tempest of golden light, before forming a blade, no larger than a kitchen knife. Though two of the blades were gone from the staff, having used plenty of energy to forge the dagger of searing red and yellow light.
Recalling the remaining three blades of light into the staff and sheathing it once again, she took the summoned weapon's blade between two of her fingers and held the handle towards the goatt. " In the meantime, if we get attacked on the way, use this. I can't make much more than this very fast, but its better than your bare hands. Its power should last until we're safe. "
After a moment, her ear flicked as she realized something rather important. " Um, real quick question, Billiey. You do know how to fight, don't you..? "
The young goatt watched as the pegasis worked her magic, quite literally, to make a sword for them. Their eyes sparkled in awe at the sight, having never seen something like that before. As far as they were aware.
Billiey took the weapon once it was offered, looking it over for a few moments. They swung it around, trying to get a feel for the sword. At Helia's question, they looked back to her.
"I... don't."
Helia's ears perked up at that. He... didn't know how to fight? How had he survived this long, she wondered. Regardless, even without training, having a weapon in general was better than being unarmed.
" Uh, well. I guess you'll be learning as you go then. Still, any weapon, even if you don't have actual training, is better than none, just as long as you have the sensibility to not do something stupid like pointing the sharp end at yourself for example. "

"It's nice to meet you too." Billiey took another look around the unfamiliar world, or at least, they thought so. They had no memory before waking up in a thick fog, beside their name. After wandering aimlessly, they ran into some trouble, and that was when the winged horce showed up. "Do you know what this place is called?"
" Hell would be my first and probably best guess for that. " Helia responded, rather matter of factly. After a moment, she just shrugged in answer to the question.
" In all seriousness, I don't really know this place's name myself yet. I've just been staying in some ruins a little ways off from here. You're free to crash at my place if you want. "
Huh. Fitting name from what they've seen so far. It fit the vibe of the place down under, given the monsters that roamed around, and the whispers of divine creatures. Seemed like a Hell-ish in nature.
"That be nice. Gonna be honest, I don't really have a place to stay. I'm sort of.... new around here."
Given how they had no memory, Billiey could only assume anyway. And even if they had been here a while, they wouldn't recall it. Best to go with that.
" Alright. And once we're there, I can get to work on getting you a weapon. As much as I hate it, walking around in the middle of nowhere without one is a death wish. "

" Of course. After all, I'm not letting someone fall into despair if I can help it. "
Helia leaned against a nearby tree, her gaze scanning the surroundings briefly for any further danger before relaxing against the bark. She was definitely an easygoing person, quite a feat considering how much of an absolute hellhole the world is.
" I'm Helia, a sage of light magic. ...or at least, that's my end goal. "
The goatt nodded, taking a moment to look around now that they weren't in danger of getting eaten by some horrible beast that roamed these dark lands. At the moment, they were safe. All thanks to Helia.
"That's... a good moral to have." Billiey nodded. "I'm Billiey. That's... All I can really tell you.."
" Hey, don't worry about it. We all have our secrets. Anyway, it's nice to meet you Billiey. "

â why did you help me? â Â (Helia.)
Helia's ear twitched as she turned towards Billiey. She twirled her staff, the searing blades of light vanishing, before she slid it into the sheath on her back, normally hidden between her wings. Giving a smile, she decided to answer the goatt with a simple response.
" It was the right thing to do. Isn't that enough? "
Blue eyes blinked, looking up at the winged creature that had appeared out of thin air, at least to them, to aid them in dealing with another creature that wished to turn them into goatt stew. At least the pegasis didn't seem hostile. Not after she risked her life to help them.
"Well..." Billiey stood up, dusting themself off. "Thank you for the assistance."
" Of course. After all, I'm not letting someone fall into despair if I can help it. "
