As someone who absolutely adores Dennis Whitaker as a character and wants to see him have joy in his life, I'm happy he seems to have found happiness in whatever this is with Amy.
But also, as someone who is madly in love with Dennis Whitaker, I want to be that passenger princess SO BAD. THE MOMENT SHE GOT OUT. AND HE JUST GOT INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE WITHOUT THEM NEEDING TO SAY ANYTHING. IT WAS SO NATURAL. SO DOMESTIC. I'M SO JEALOUS OF THAT WHITE GIRL.
hey so can I have scenario where Sanemi accidentally reaches his toddler curse words and itâs his wifeâs and his kids first words? Him dealing with that, the toddler keeps repeating? And s/o finds out and is like ââŠ. I wonder where he/she could of learned that from *stares at Sanemi unblinking with a smirk*â
curse of the curse word
pairing: sanemi shinazugawa Ă reader
genre: domestic comedy, fluff
warnings: strong language, cursing around a toddler, mild teasing
synopsis: an ordinary morning turns chaotic when your toddler repeats a certain curse word sanemi accidentally lets slip.
âž»
it started on an ordinary morning â the kind where the air still felt cold from the night and the sun barely peeked through the shoji screens. wooden floors creaked under bare feet, the quiet kind of domestic calm that never lasted long in a house with sanemi in it.
sanemi was half-dressed, uniform jacket hanging open, trying to tie his shoes while your toddler sat on the floor beside him, chewing on a wooden toy like it was gourmet cuisine. he tugged the lace too hard and the knot ripped clean off.
âshit.â
the word came out so naturally he didnât even register it. just frustration, sharp and automatic.
the toddlerâs head perked up.
âshiâ!â
everything in sanemiâs body froze. he didnât even breathe.
his eyes widened slowly, horrified, like someone had just told him an upper rank moved into the pantry.
ââŠno way.â
the toddler beamed.
âshiâ! shiâ!â
âstopâ heyâ donâtâ donât say that!â he hissed, whisper-yelling like it would help. âno. no. say literally anything else. stop that!â
the toddler giggled and repeated it again, loud enough for half the corps to hear.
a voice drifted in from the kitchen, casual:
âwhat was that?â
ânothing!â sanemi barked, way too quickly.
the toddler clapped.
âshiâ!!â
the air went dead silent.
you stepped into the doorway with your arms crossed, leaning there like someone who already solved the crime. eyes locked onto him without blinking, a slow smirk forming across your mouth.
âhuh,â you said softly. âi wonder where the kid couldâve learned that from.â
sanemi glared at you like glaring might erase evidence.
âdonâtâ donât look at me like that.â
âlike what?â
âlike iâm guilty.â
âare you guilty?â
âno!â
âmmm.â
he groaned and looked away, rubbing the back of his neck like he might physically scrub the embarrassment off.
âsanemi,â you said, too sweet. âwhat exactly was the first word our child said?â
âdonât make me say it.â
âsay it.â
âno.â
âsanemi.â
he deflated.
ââŠshit.â
the toddler proudly echoed it.
sanemi pressed his fingers to his eyelids like he was fighting for his life. âdammitâ stop saying that!â
you started laughing, the kind that made your shoulders shake, because watching the wind hashira get verbally folded by a toddler was the highlight of the year.
âso just to be clear,â you teased, âthe first word wasnât âpapaâ or âmamaâ⊠it was âshit.ââ
âokay, okay, i get it!â he snapped, face already pink. âi didnât mean to teachâ it just slipped out! it happens! my toe hits a table, something breaks, i get stabbedââ
âyou shouldnât be cussing in front of a baby when you get stabbed, sanemi.â
âi canât control that!â
he pointed aggressively at the toddler.
âi tried to teach good words! âhey.â âlook.â âfood.â âcome here.â but no. no. the gremlin picks the worst one possible.â
the toddler repeated it again, proud like it was a performance.
ââŠwhy are you like this,â sanemi muttered at the child.
you walked over and hugged him around the waist, kissing his jaw lightly, and his shoulders tensed because affection always short-circuited him.
âyouâre lucky i love you,â you murmured.
âyeah, yeah.â
âand youâre going to fix this.â
âhow? what do you want me to do?â
âfix it.â
he groaned.
ââŠfine.â
he sat on the floor later, toddler perched on his thigh, pointing at objects like he was running a briefing for new recruits.
âthis is a cup. say âcup.â not the other thing.â
the toddler blinked.
âcup,â he tried again.
they opened their mouth.
âshiâ.â
sanemi dropped his forehead onto the table with a dull thud.
âiâm a terrible father.â
you leaned against the wall, trying not to burst out laughing.
âyouâre actually a great father. you just⊠talk like youâre drowning in sailors.â
âi do not talk that bad.â
a raised eyebrow immediately proved that wrong.
ââŠokay maybe i do,â he admitted, rubbing the toddlerâs back gently. âiâll fix it. i will. i donât want that to be the word they say around people.â
you ruffled his hair. he tried to swat you away. he didnât move your hand.
âi know you will.â
he pressed a kiss to the top of the toddlerâs head, muttering into their hair:
âweâre not keepinâ this word. weâre learninâ somethinâ nice. like ârice.â or âtree.â or literally anything but âshit.ââ
the toddlerâs reaction was immediate.
âshiâ!â
sanemi leaned his head back, staring at the ceiling, silently reconsidering every decision heâd ever made.
you kissed his cheek, soft.
âyouâre doing great, papa.â
his expression softened for barely a heartbeat â quick, flustered, unbelievably tender.
ââŠyeah. iâll get it right,â he murmured, pulling both of you closer. âjustâ donât tell obanai. heâll never shut up.â
I feel like the moment he kisses his romantic interest/partner for the first time and realizes how good kissing feels, heâd want to do it all the time. Not publicly, heâs still not a fan of PDA. But anytime they have time alone or a moment to go off by themselves heâd wanna mack on them constantly.Â
Sometimes itâs a gentle, slow kiss.
Other times itâs more passionate and hungry.
During intimacy especially heâll mark his partner with kisses all over.
Whether it be their neck, shoulder, chest, inner thigh. Sometimes he even simply grazes his lips along their skin.Â
Heâd be the type to leave a love mark or two. Giving them love bites unconsciously anytime the sensation of their intercourse becomes overwhelming.Â
Afterwards, he enjoys holding them close. Feeling their bare body pressed against his and planting chaste kisses on their head/forehead. On their shoulder blade if heâs holding them from behind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: I love the idea that while Sanemi is this strong and scarred up man with crazed eyes, who intimidates others due to how rough around the edges he can be. He is also the most gentle, soft, and affectionate man when heâs alone with his person.
Rengoku, Sanemi and Gyomei x reader; secret relationship being found; fluffy âĄ
Rengoku
Oh boy.
He's not exactly known for his subtlety.
After you both got together, you decided to keep it under covers to prevent any unwanted questions and Rengoku agreed since he wanted to protect you from his fatherâŠ
But he wasn't hiding it very well.
He actually wasn't hiding it at ALL
It was obvious in the way his eyes lit up each time your name was mentionedÂ
And how he'd always want to be near you
And yell out your name each time he sees you
â(Y/N)!!! WHAT A LOVELY DAY IT IS! What an honor it is to spend it with you!â
Mitsuri figures it out first-
She knew Rengoku liked you but when she caught you both smiling and embracing each other one evening under the covers of the wisteria trees, she yelled out in surprise-
âRENGOKU-SAN?! (L/N)-SAN?! WHAT-â
You both had to bribe her with a lot of Sakura Mochi to keep her quiet but even then she unfortunately told Obanai
Who told Sanemi
Who told Shinobu
Who told-
Basically now everyone knew.
During the next meeting, Gyomei muttered a prayer of blessing for you two which made it clear the cat was out of the bag-
Rengoku was shocked
Even more shocked when people said he was quite obvious-
But his immediate concern was of course⊠how you were taking it.
But the moment you sigh and shrug before beaming up at him, he's eyes softened again as he brings you in for a hug and kisses your forehead
âTHAT'S CORRECT EVERYONE! I'M COURTING THIS BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AND I AM GOING TO MAKE HER MY WIFE-"
âKyojuro! Too much!â
âAh sorry, my love.â
Nevertheless, he was more than happy that he could finally show his love for you to everyone.
Sanemi
You and Sanemi kept things quiet because he hates gossip and didnât want the Corps to think you were distracted.
The first few months were full of sneaking glances during meetings â just long enough for him to smirk before looking away.
Youâd patch him up after missions, and heâd grumble about it but secretly lived for the excuse to be near you.
Genya definitely suspected something first â Sanemi would act weird whenever you were around.
He tried to deny it, but one night Genya saw him smiling while looking at a letter from you. Busted.
Sanemi actually begged Genya not to tell anyone, which shocked his brother into silence (for about two weeks).
Eventually, Shinobu caught the two of you holding hands in the medical wing. She didnât say anything⊠but that teasing smile said it all.
Rumors spread fast. Within a day, Obanai was giving Sanemi the death glare for âbreaking Corps protocol.â
Sanemiâs reaction? âMind your damn business.â But his ears turned red the entire time.
You found it kind of adorable how defensive he got whenever someone teased him about being âsoft.â
Despite the embarrassment, Sanemi stopped hiding as much. Heâd walk next to you in public, even if he still avoided PDA.
Heâd mutter things like, âTheyâre just jealous I got someone better than they ever will.â
Surprisingly, the gossip didnât harm his reputation â most Hashira were relieved heâd found someone who made him less volatile.
Heâd still pretend he didnât care, but you caught him smiling whenever someone called you âShinazugawaâs partner.â
His new favorite line when people tease him? âYeah, Iâve got someone. What about it?â â followed by an arm around your shoulder, daring anyone to comment.
Gyomei
Gyomei kept your relationship secret out of humility; he didnât want others to think his feelings clouded his duty.
Youâd often sit together in quiet prayer or meditation, fingers brushing ever so slightly â a secret shared only between you two.
When the others noticed how often you accompanied him to missions, they assumed it was for training.
Mitsuri was the first to suspect something when she caught Gyomei smiling softly at the sound of your voice.
Youâd exchange small, meaningful touches â a hand on his sleeve, a lingering presence by his side â that spoke volumes without words.
One evening, you were tending to his wounds after a battle when Tengen accidentally walked in.
Tengenâs reaction? âSo this is the secret sparkle youâve been hiding, big guy?â
Gyomei nearly wept in mortified silence, mumbling apologies while you reassured him it was fine.
Tengen didnât keep it to himself, of course â soon, everyone knew. Mitsuri thought it was romantic, while Sanemi teased that he âdidnât see that one coming.â
Once the shock wore off, the other Hashira were genuinely happy for him. They knew how deeply Gyomei loved, and it suited him.
Despite the teasing, Gyomei continued to be respectful and gentle â never flaunting it, but no longer denying it either.
Youâd notice he started introducing you differently: âThis is someone very precious to me.â
The Kakushi adored the two of you, calling it âthe sweetest love story in the Corps.â
Gyomei would often express his gratitude to the gods for letting others know, saying that love, too, can be an example of strength and faith.
Even with the secret out, your relationship remained serene â built on quiet devotion rather than spectacle. He still blushes when anyone teases him, though.
Every time Sanemi returns from a mission they both canât seem to keep their hands off each other. As if making up for the time spent apart. Tonight is no different. This has been the longest heâs ever been gone. Even as she clings to him and feels his warmth inside her, she canât help the heaviness in her chest. She truly feared he wasnât coming home this time.Â
Afterwards the two linger in bed. His strong arms wrap loosely around her body as her hand gently rests on his cheek. Her thumb tracing the scars that line his handsome features.
âWhy do you keep touching my face?â He mutters, turning his head to kiss the hand in question.
âMm..just checking.â
âChecking what?â
âThat youâre real.â
âTch. Course Iâm real, whatâs gotten into you?â
âThis is what happens when youâre gone for too long.â
âDid I scare you?â He asks, his fingers gently glide along her back unconsciously as he speaks.
âYou went completely silent on me. Not even a note or anything from your crow.âÂ
âI promised Iâd come back, didnât I?â Heâs not used to this quite yet. This is still new to him. Heâs in the habit of not having to really answer to anyone in that regard.
âYeah. You always do. But whoâs to say in my grief Iâm not just imagining you here this time?â
He takes her face in his hands and squishes her cheeks together, forcing her into a silly face.Â
âThat feel imaginery?â He says.
âYouâre annoying.â
He smirks, pleased with himself, and plants a chaste kiss on her comically puckered lips.
âI donât plan on letting a fucking demon end my life. So stop worrying already.â Heâs always been prepared to die. Itâs a big reason why he was so reluctant to give into his feelings for her at first.Â
Her brows furrow, âdonât tell me not to worry.â She turns her head to bite his hand.
Sanemi pulls it back. âOi, no biting, thatâs cheating!â She didnât bite hard but it was definitely a threat.Â
She shifts her body closer to him, hiding her expression by resting her head in the crease of his neck. Her arms embrace him tighter. âI donât want to live in a world without you in it.â she mumbles against his skin.
He doesnât have an immediate response, taking her words in. He reciprocates the embrace and nestles his face in her hair.
âI already told ya. Iâll always come back.â His tone is soft this time. Gentler than it is with anyone else. Heâs never cared whether he lives or dies, being rash in a fight comes naturally. But he knows how painful it is to be the one left alive. To be left with that horrible emptiness and pain. So while he still throws himself into a fight, he does have a compelling reason to want to live. âSorryâŠIâm sorry I made you worry.âÂ
There is a pause in the conversation before she kisses the side of his neck.Â
ââŠif you ever leave for that long without so much as a letter home, Iâll hunt you down and kill you myself.âÂ
He chuckles and turns them over so sheâs on her back again with him looming over her. âYou threatening me?â
Her eyes stare up into those purple irises she loves so much. âYeah. What are you gonna do about it?â She slowly smiles, teasing him now.
His heart flutters. In that same way it always does when she smiles. Damnit. Heâs in deep. But somehow, he doesnât mind as much as he thought he would. âTease.â He mutters before leaning down to kiss her lips. She wraps her arms around him and spreads her thighs apart just enough for him to settle in between them once more.
A/N: My brain is still stuck on this white-haired man. The dialogue for this one came quickly but the moments in between I struggled with for some reason. The whole thing changed so many times throughout the process. I think I just overthought it. But Iâm posting it regardless because I wanted to start writing to have fun and be creative, not to be perfect. And again, this man has a chokehold on me. So Iâll probably be keeping these coming. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, etc. I alone try to catch stuff but I reread this one so many times I started to wanna re-write it entirely! So for my sanity's sake I am just setting it free. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it and take it easy out there yaâll.
Imagine crying, missing family. Holding it together in front of everyone because how do you explain how much you miss the family youâre not supposed to remember? How do you explain why you canât travel to see them? How itâs not simply distance in mileage that separates you, but time itself.
You canât. Instead you allow yourself these moments to grieve them.Â
Sanemi stumbles upon you crying. He doesnât say anything but you hear his steps approaching. You try to compose yourself quickly, wiping at the tears frantically and looking away from him in a sad attempt to save face.Â
Youâre not sure what to expect. Will he pretend he didnât notice? Or maybe heâll lecture you on how crying wonât do anything to help the situation. He does neither.Â
He simply sits down beside you and sets his hand down, palm on the ground between you both. Close enough to where if you wanted to reach out you could. A gesture. His eyes gazing upward towards the night sky above to give you some privacy while still being present.
You hesitate at first. Your fingers reach out and instantly meet his own. That touch alone, that human connection, is more comfort than any words could give. Your tears start to pour freely and although youâre still looking away you donât actually feel any insecurity of knowing heâs aware youâre crying. Your shoulders are shaking.Â
Youâre now fully holding his hand tightly as you allow yourself to be vulnerable. You arenât sure if heâs staring or looking away. But it doesnât really matter.
His hand squeezes yours, a silent reminder that heâs here so let out what you need.
A/N: Again I just canât get out of my head this idea of someone from the future being sent back in time and ending up in this whirlwind that is the Demon Slayer Corps and the battle against Muzan and his demons. Maybe even having to pretend to have slight amnesia to avoid too many questions. Iâm sure itâs obvious by now which Hashira I have a soft spot for.
Although I love all of the characters honestly. Thank you for all the love my last post received. Iâm having a lot of fun and I just appreciate the love.Â
This one was also loosely inspired by the hand holding car scene in Dandadan. The other anime Iâve binged alongside Demon Slayer.
Sanemi walks up just as sheâs finishing tying off the last knot on whatever it is sheâs been working on. He leans down to try and have a better look but she closes her fingers around it quickly.
âIâll show you. Give me your wrist.â
âNo.â
âOh come on. Itâs a nice thing. What, are you scared Iâm going to hurt you?â She teases.
âTch. You? You couldnât even on your best day.â
He doesnât finish his sentence before he caves and extends his arm out. She takes a hold and proceeds to tie something around his wrist. Itâs patterned using different colored threads, like blues and purples. Even some pink and yellow.Â
âItâs a friendship bracelet.â
She says, smiling.Â
âYou expect me to wear this thing?â
His tone comes off as annoyed even though deep down a part of him is happy to receive a gift from her.
âThatâs a funny way of saying âthank you.â
He goes to take it off but she quickly puts her hands over his to stop him. The tips of his ears turn pink. She doesnât seem to notice.
âWait! Wait! You canât take it off!.â
âWhy the hell not?â
âBecause, youâre supposed to make a wish while youâre tying one of these around another person. But the wish doesnât come true until the bracelet naturally wears off over time and falls on its own.âÂ
âThatâs the dumbest shit Iâve ever heard.â
âSo you donât care if my wish doesnât come true, then?â
â....â
-The following morning at the Hashira Meeting.-
From the corner of his eye Giyu catches something colorful around the wrist of the Wind Hashira.
âDid you make that yourself?â His attempt to lead up to a compliment in the hopes of a future friendship.Â
Sadly, Sanemi never takes anything Giyu says well.
If a look could kill.Â
Before any other Hashira could notice what caused the outburst, Sanemi was already drawing his blade.
Swords were swung. Fists were thrown. Bets were made.Â
Nevertheless, the bracelet stayed safe and secure around the wrist of the man swinging at Giyuâs neck.
The wish: For Sanemi to someday feel safe enough to let his walls down and share something from his childhood that used to make him smile too.Â
A/N: Iâve never written anything before so apologies for grammar mistakes or going back and forth between past and present tense. And the endless commas. But this small snippet of a scene wouldnât leave my head. Iâve just recently gotten into Demon Slayer and binged everything like crazy. Watched the movies. And even read the manga and I SOBBED. I just want these characters to have some joy.Â
Side note: Iâm a sucker for someone from the future getting sent back into the past. And while this truly doesnât matter to this little snippet of a story, in my head sheâs from the present stuck in the past. Hence the friendship bracelet. I donât know why itâs been stuck in my head, imagining a character super into folklore and myths from the past and then suddenly getting thrown back in time and realizing, well damn. Guess they werenât kidding. Anyway, thanks for reading.
