You can hear the steady beating of my heart, lulling you into a deep sleep where the only dreams you have are dreams of our life together.

I'm daydreaming of the home we will build together, on a plot of land just for us. We will be safe and comfortable, filling our house with the softest of blankets, yummiest of foods, and strongest of loves. I daydream of the garden I will create and tend to, planting new life every spring while you use our plants to make delicious dinners to end our nights. We fall asleep in each other's arms--nothing can separate us anymore.

I'm daydreaming that I am snuggled beneath thick, warm blankets in front of a cozy fireplace. You tease me about how cold I am despite the blankets and fire, I laugh and bury myself deeper into the warmth. You bring over two steaming mugs of hot chocolate from our kitchen, a sprinkle of cinnamon adding color to the delicious drink. You place the mugs on the coffee table and wrap your arms around me and the bundle of blankets encasing me. I am finally warm.

I’m daydreaming of having a house of our own during quarantine, making homemade pizza as the sun begins to set, and drinking root beer as we wait for it to bake. The setting sun is filling our cozy house with a warm glow; there are luscious green plants in every corner, making the living room feel more like a greenhouse. We snuggle up on the couch under a blanket to watch a fun chick-flick while we eat dinner. We are content in each other’s arms, safe from the rest of the world, and lucky to be together.

I’m daydreaming we wake up early and walk to the nearest coffee shop through the morning fog. I order coffee and you order tea, and we stroll to the park and sit on the damp, wooden bench in blissful silence. We watch the sun rise, melting the fog as we sip our warm drinks and snuggle closer together. The birds begin to chirp and sing and the grass glistens with drops of dew. You tilt my chin and kiss me with your soft, gentle lips. Your delicious kisses warm me more than the coffee I’ve been drinking.

Awwww I’m so sorry you both are surrounded by that environment. I understand, I live in a very intolerant and homophobic environment too. I hope your future is beautiful and bright and full of love.

I smile and drape my arms around your neck and sleepily tangle my fingers in your hair. I listen to your steady heart beat, comforting breaths, and occasional sweet whispers of adoration as I slowly fall asleep on you.

The perfect vacation with the most perfect person.
