Basically, there's thousands of different timelines of this world that are identical to the timeline you're in right now, with some differences. The askers and anons, including myself, are some of the gods of these timelines. They usually branch out later on in the game to a few different endings, but an earthquake has... never this early. I have a feeling it's because you have contact with us. I'd tell you more, but... I can't. You'll know the rest in time, but for now, I can't say anything.

Oh, nevermind, it already happened. That's my fault, I guess. Can you still get to the refuge? If not, ask Calamus and Alula if you can go visit the graveyard. You might be like, "WHY THE HECK WOULD I WANNA VISIT A GRAVEYARD!!?" But understand, this is only a last resort. And it wouldn't even work, 'cause you don't have the book... I'm getting off-track! Is the entrace to the refuge still accesable? I think I spelled that wrong BUT -

IDK - the machine does want to get you home safely, but there's some internal conflicts. You'll understand later. Don't want to tell you now because it might cause events that aren't meant to happen yet. But it has to do with that "[Niko is upset]" ask. All will be revealed in time, trust me...

OHHH BOY okay. I didn't think you'd need to learn about this so early, but here we go. Basically, some anons have made a.. certain someone, very scared, and sent them into a panic. This "someone" is... let's say the spirit of the world. It controls things about the world, such as the terrain. When it goes into a panic like it did just then, things like earthquakes can occur. There's a lot more to it than this, but... I shouldn't tell you that yet.

that… sounds awful. why would anyone ever want to do that to someone?
