ninjametall: I love the idea that monsters communicate through music, especially so when they use external instruments (such as Congle’s bongo, or Deegee’s set). Is the monster incapable of communicating if they lose it? We know Congle at least can speak, since he says “Come on, let’s go, come on, come on, let’s go” on Tribal Island, but what about monsters like Bellowfish or Powek whose musical sounds aren’t produce from anything in their body?

I like to think that any monster can make vocal sounds as long as they have a mouth! Pangos can communicate through chattering their beaks, but we’ve also seen that they can just communicate with vocal sounds (seen in A Story of Sprinkles) If a monster absolutely can’t make vocal sounds and they lost an instrument, they more than likely can talk through other means. They could write what they’re saying, or they can try to hit the ground to make a beat that could be translated into something.
