Dazai-san’s power cannot be matched

While I absolutely won't try to justify his actions, I think that Dazai is an interesting character. The most interesting thing that fascinates me is, morbidly enough, is his psyche. Just thinking about what kind of wreck everything has left brings me a morbid fascination.

A young man, given the power to defy magic itself, adapts himself to a merciless and cruel world and becomes like it himself in order to find a reason to live, hurting a certain apprentice in the process. That world would cost him the life of the sole person ever cared about - that one thing that would eventually be ripped away from him. Once that happens and he joins the Agency, he just hides that grief deep inside under a mountain of counter-questions and sarcasm. All of this paints such an interesting picture, at least, in my eyes.
