In harem content aimed at men, it's common to see yuri where two (or more) members of the harem kiss or grope each other. The 100 Girlfriends is an example of this. Male readers welcome it and don't see it as NTR or betrayal as long as they still love the MC. Some even see it as titillation. But in otome, when two men flirt with each other, somehow otome fans get mad. I wonder why there's a difference in thinking.

In the case with Garumani, while it is true the addition of BL content is what ignited discourse, there were also other reasons why the arguments had gotten so out of control. The biggest one is disrespecting the basis of what makes the work an “otome” work, treating the heroine as an aside while focusing on the relationship development of the two supposed love interests for her. Furthermore their followup ended up fanning the flames by giving excuses, not acknowledging the fans’ feelings and handling the entire situation poorly which showed that they did not understand nor care for their audience at all.

I find the way they did not shade fedya's hair when he um, died off completely kinda sus and I had to checked prev page just to see did hrkw shaded his hair or nah but it was indeed shaded until the final panel where it was not and how the M-shaped bang kinda makes him look like dzi but then again the M-shaped bang is pretty popular in manga, and I don't wanna overthink stuffs but man I just hope that Fedya is gone for good and the final panel is just to show that he's like a foil, an opposite of dzi....
