“Hey, quick question for you,” Adrian spoke up to the person nearest him. “What would you do if you had 1,000 dollars?” He was curious about the answer he’d get, if they’d even give one, and he was in a generous mood.
“Probably a new camera lens and like a shit ton of weed.”
“I’m not saying that I’m not appreciative.” Scarlett began, as she dug through the tissue paper of the gift box, next to her, and pulled out a silk nightie. “–But this is a weird gift to just leave at someone’s door, right? And it seems pretty expensive too. I should just give this back to my neighbor, huh?”
“Ew, your neighbor left you that? Return to him... Along with a rock through his window. That is creeee-py.”
“Today I bought $140 worth of candles from Anthropologie and baked pumpkin bread, pumpkin bars and a pumpkin pie. I need work to pick up like yesterday, because this is just stupid. Or…. you know, a boyfriend…. one that really likes pumpkin.”

“So I’ve gotten a few messages on that freelance site I signed up for. I have a few gigs coming up so at least there will be a money flow. In other news… I need a roommate.”
“Ooh, be careful where you search. Never know where the next Craigslist killer is lurking. Good on you though.”
“Could you do me a favor real quick— the bartender cut me off alcohol for the night because he thinks I’m drunk, which I’m not…..I just accidentally collided with a table and knocked some shit over in front of him. And I really can’t be bothered going to a new bar so could you please get me another drink? I’ll buy you one as well.”
“I don’t actually believe you... But it’s your funeral.” She held out her hand for the money. “What you want, boo?”
“You can judge me all you want but I wanted a cake so bad. And yeah I’m one person…and a small person but if you think I can’t eat this thing you’ve got another thing coming.” She nodded looking over at it. “With that being said…you want a slice?”
“You mean there aren’t other people coming?” Daisy looked at the cake incredulously then Alma. “I’ll take a slice just to keep you from going into sugar overload. I don’t want to have to pry you off the ceiling.”
