ft Naib Subedar and Eli Clark.
synopsis - You've fallen in love with another during your time at the manor but you have had a life outside of these deathmatches—you're sworn to another man, and now must tell the man you've been cheating with about your infidelity and how you must go back to that life.
Content - uh angst, unloyal reader though they were forced into their outside the manor marriage, got a little plot lost in eli's forgive me, fluff, wounded reader, you die in Elis, gore, maybe some oocness so don't kill me.
A/N - I just want to say this was heavily inspired by the song 'Made In Japan' By Buck Owens. Btw i totally fucked up Eli's part like i am so disappointed with it i literally lost the plot im sorry.

Mercenary
Naib never thought he'd find love in a place like the manor, he'd been trapped there for years, forced to play game after game. Yet he fought every match to leave alive, not wanted to die in a place like this, wanting to see his mom again.
Then a new survivor arrived, you are nice to everyone, trying your best to get along with them all. You eventually find yourself trying to crack the wall Naib the Mercenary had built around himself.
It was quite the tough goal.
Luck was on your side though, every match Naib got placed with you. You sucked at these manor games, yet Naib never left you to die always saving you.
You approached him one day, a bright smile decorating your lips. "I'd like to thank you for always rescuing me during our matches, you're a real lifesaver, literally." You bow deeply showing your respect for him. He was a little unsure of how to respond. "It's no problem." His words are blunt, you can tell he wishes for the conversation to be over but you weren't going to allow him to get rid of you that quickly.
Naib thought that'd be the end of it but you didn't walk away, instead taking a seat beside him trying to attempt at making small talk with him, he was pretty dry yet you still didn't stop trying. It was a little surprising to him since most others had given up on trying to communicate with Naib due to his inability to hold a conversation.
Not you though.
The sitting down and talking, It soon became a routine for him. After every match of Naib's he'd be greeted by your smiling face. Then slowly you'd see him sat near where the survivors got out of matches as if waiting for you, it sparked something inside you.
It suddenly happened one random day, your relationship took a turn for something more intimate. There was a match, one where Naib wasn't in it, he put on a facade as if everything was okay but he was filled with worry, he'd seen the way you 'performed' during matches—what would you do without him?
He almost lost it when you appeared and had wounds adorning your whole body, he didn't care that he was before other survivors in that moment only fretting openly over you.
It happened in seconds you'd been overcome by the fluttering that was happening in your chest because of his worrying and soon leaned forward capturing his lips with your own. He didn't respond immediately out of surprise but was soon kissing back as he kept his grip tight on your arms.
Innocent, pure, love blossomed between you two. You kept each other safe, giving each other a reason to continue on in this hell.
Of course Naib doesn't get to have his happy ending, after years you guys finally get to leave the cursed Oletus Manor, it was time for everyone to go back to their old lives.
Stepping outside the manor was weird, it was as if no time had passed since anyones arrivals.
Naib helped you with your luggage, setting it before a carriage—there were tons to escort all the survivors back home.
Naib stood before you and your gaze was facing the gravely road and was quite somber. "Mero prem," (Nepali term of endearment) He gently grabbed your hands, raising head with his other hand. "are you ready?"
Tears soon started to leak from your eyes. "I can't go with you Naib. I.. I have been promised to another. I must go back to my country." It was breaking your heart to tell him.
You wished to take the words back as soon as they left your mouth, god did you want to throw up because of the look of pure sadness on his beautiful face.
He forced his expression to change to a softer look, one full of love and... understanding.
Naib's hand gently wiped your tears, a soft look in his eyes. "I understand." Yet he didn't, it wasn't fair to him yet he hated to see his love cry. You clung to him for a final time and Naib gave you one last kiss.
He watched as you climb into the carriage, heartbroken eyes meeting heartbroken eyes for a final goodbye. It soon started taking off, Naib only staring as it slowly faded off into the distance.
Naib's heart left with you that day, the one he met in Oletus Manor.
Seer
Eli had a whole life before the manor he'd planned to settle down with Gertrude and live a natural life—yet he was stuck in this manor.
Then he met you, it was like his life from before with Gertrude hadn't existed. You were beauty incarnate, a soul so beautiful even Brooke Rose was attached to you.
He had begun to court you, he had believed his life from before was over anyways, you aswell it was easy to fall for someone as soft-spoken and charming as Eli. It was as if the fate designed you two to be together.
You felt bad about not telling him you have another lover before him and with how matches had been getting more and more rough as of late with more people being killed off, you felt you have to let him know of your infidelity to your husband from before the manor.
The time just never felt right though the two of you are so happy, why ruin it by saying it'd have to stop when you guys escape... well, if you guys escape
It was just supposed to be a simple, normal match, but I guess no match is 'normal' when it's apart of a game of life or death.
The first thing Eli had done when waking up in the place 'White Sand Street Asylum' was rush to find you, which was easy since Brooke Rose. Unfortunately he hadn't been the first to find you though. Bane 'The Gamekeeper' was the executioner of this round.
He witnessed as Bane's hook clasped straight onto your side, the sharp, jagged teeth of the hook tearing into your stomach. You let out a shaky breath, the pain unbearable as you choke up a sob while reaching out for Eli.
Eli's hand clasp around yours in an instant, he and Bane get into a battle of tug of war with you, Eli refusing to let you go. "It's going ot be okay, I swear it." His voice is shaking as he holds your hand tightly.
Painfully Eli wins the game of tug of war but at a cost, where the hook waas snugly dug into your skin it rips out a chunk of your stomach your blood pools all over the floor, as you cry out in pain and crash into Eli, who doesn't give you a moment to breathe before pulling you to your feet dragging your injured body along.
Your blood spills all over the floor, you hand latches to the wound a pathetic attempt to keep your insides—well inside. You could practically feel your own guts trying to leave your body.
Tears stream down your face, as you cry to yourself from the pain. Eli is breaking left and right trying his best to lose Bane so he can tend to your wound.
You find a split moment to push Eli into a room. you would've fallen flat on your face if his arms hadn't wrapped around your waist pulling you into him as he bring you to sit slowly.
He removes your hand from the wound, a look of pure dread washing over his pretty boy features.
You bring a hand up weakly to caress his cheek. "It's going to be okay, you're going to be okay, we are going to–" You put your hand gently over his mouth and shake your head. His hand snatches your hand up quickly his grasp shaking with fear. "Yes..! don't resign, fight Y/n, you must fight... for me if not yourself." He gently pushes you against his chest.
You rest pliantly against him, breathing becoming difficult as blood slowly fills your lungs. "Eli... There is something I never told you... it's.. it's about my life before the manor," You say still pressed against him, both your hands are intertwined over your fatal injury.
"I had a lover, even children... and if we had escaped I would've left you... I would've went back to my old life abandoning the love we built here." Your words come out weakly, almost ashamed.
His other hand gently comes up caressing your face, he has a sad smile on his lips. "Then I too must be honest, I had a lover before the manor as well, her name is Gertrude... I... I still think about her when I'm with you sometimes, but I truly fell for you in this hell, Y/n." His words are honest.
"I fell for you too Eli..." You nuzzle your face against where his heart lies. "Then maybe that's all we need to know." Eli holds you as you pass, warm in his embrace.
And when Bane finds him he still only continues to hold you, the thought of abandoning you never even crossed his mind.
Maybe in another life you were each other first choices.
